Midweek 13th November 2024

Now that the initial shock of the victory of President Trump is subsiding – we can expect the Far Left Anti British BBC to go into full hostility to him – we’ve been here before .

    And…here we go….

“The FBI has seized the CEO of Polymarket’s phone and electronics after the election-betting platform successfully forecast Donald Trump’s win.

Shayne Coplan, 26, was targeted at his Soho home during a dawn raid on Wednesday, sources told the New York Post.

The insider blasted the seizure as ‘grand political theater at its worst’.

‘They could have asked his lawyer for any of these things. Instead, they staged a so-called raid so they can leak it to the media and use it for obvious political reasons,’ the source said.”

Gaetz appointment is about ‘revenge’, Democrats say
    https://www.bbc.com/news/live/cnvjr42yq39t

‘”They will weaponize the [Department of Justice] to protect themselves and their allies and we must stop them from executing Trump’s plans for revenge and retribution.”‘

Entirely as predicted, the BBC are running ‘political persecution headlines’ about Trumps policies.

Normally I would not support revenge of any kind. It’s a cold, deliberate act without any ‘heat of the moment’ to justify it.

But in this case I am 100% behind Trump doing whatever he can to those dirty b@st@rds. They have gone after him in any and every dirty way they could. They set up committees just to find ways to impeach him. They tried – and failed – twice while the BBC harped on about how ‘historic’ and unprecedented it was. Then they went after him with hundreds of legal attacks and when all those failed, they tried to assassinate him. Twice. And they might not be finished yet.

So get in there Donald and give them a taste of what they have been dishing out. They absolutely deserve it. The Left have turned the entire system into a third-world shithole corrupt farce with bent governors, Judges and stooges in key government positions which are supposed to protect against it happening. Dismantle it all and make it difficult for these modern Nazis to do it again.

If you have any time left, please do what you can to the MSM and the BBC. They are 100% complicit and infested with far-Left activists. It was their job as a democratic check-and-balance to stop it.

The BBC relentlessly defends the rights of journalists and their independence from government but not in this case..both the BBC and Guardian seem to be studiously ignoring this Stalinist attack not just on ‘journalism’ but freedom of speech where the police can essentially label you a hate criminal with no evidence or substance to any accusation….of course Pearson is a right-leaning journo and so only right she’s banged up…if it had been a BBC or Guardian journo there would be a massive row.

If Allison Pearson does become such a victim she should perhaps sue for libel and put the police and the Home Office in the dock especially as Cooper looks likely to give more powers to the police to libel people and ruin their lives.

Maybe the BBC will report it then.

Pearson should have told the Police where to get off and invited them to arrest her, then got on with attending Remembrance Day.

Talking about Non Crime Hate…….I once got involved with a row with an extremely fat woman in a supermarket car park. She was so fat she couldn’t get out of her car without he door banging on to my car. When I remonstrated with her she was most affronted and blamed me for parking correctly in my space. When I suggested she should try slimming down she flew into a rage and very nearly smashed my side window. I noticed her taking my car number presumably to report me to the Police for fat shaming, a Non Crime Hate Incident. I never heard anything.

      • Zephir says:

@F2 voluntary interview is a bit of a misnomer, it allows you not to be arrested and if you don’t go, guess what ?

It means in essence they do not have quite enough on you and want you to incriminate yourself so ALWAYS have a solicitor present:

“Why are police opting for voluntary interviews as opposed to making arrests?

The statistics we mentioned earlier do not lie, but they do not provide a clear-cut reason behind this shift either. There may be many different reasons as to why voluntary interviews are becoming more popular. What we can say with certainty is that the decrease in arrests is not a result of crime dramatically decreasing. There has not been a major change in law to prompt this increase in voluntary interviews; however, it could be argued that there has been a major shift in police policy in recent years.

One potential reason for choosing a voluntary interview over an arrest is that police have received a complaint but do not have enough evidence to make an arrest, or perhaps it’s the simple fact that voluntary interviews are more cost effective than arrests and detention. Another possible reason is that voluntary interviews avoid many of the legal issues involved in placing someone under arrest. For example, they can be dealt with at a time and date that’s convenient to all parties, potentially resulting in a smoother process, rather than taking the potentially stressful and time-consuming route of formal custody.

Can an interview become an arrest?

An interview and an arrest are two separate matters. If you’re initially invited into a police station for a voluntary police interview but the decision is made to arrest you, the police officer(s) must inform the custody officer who will then inform you that you’re under arrest. When under arrest, you’re prevented from leaving the police station, however, the police can only hold you for up to 24 hours before they have to charge you with a crime or release you.

The right to refuse a voluntary police interview

You can refuse to partake as it’s a ‘voluntary’ interview, however, a refusal to attend could prompt the police to arrest you, where you will need to give a “standard interview” in custody. It’s important to note that you are entitled to independent legal advice whether you are giving a standard or voluntary interview.

        What are voluntary police interviews?

If you are asked by the police to attend a voluntary interview, sometimes referred to as an interview under caution, you are not under arrest and you do not have to consent to being interviewed. It’s important to understand that you are under caution and these “quick chats” can result in criminal proceedings being commenced. The interview will be recorded and can therefore be used as evidence. Voluntary police interviews can seem rather informal, especially when compared to arrests, but the level of seriousness should not be overlooked. For example, some individuals may not even be aware of the fact they are ‘suspects’ in criminal proceedings. Below are just a few key points to remember regarding your rights:

You’re not under arrest and you don’t have to consent to being interviewed – though this could work against you in the event of further investigation.
Before the police interviewer asks you to consent, you must be told about your rights, entitlements and safeguards.
You can leave at any time (unless you are arrested).
Simply tell the police interviewer that you want a solicitor to help you during the interview process. If you do ask for legal advice, the police interviewer is not permitted to ask you questions until you have had the chance to speak to a solicitor.
This phrase is one you’ll have no likely heard before, but when you’re asked questions about a suspected offence, “you do not have to say anything. However, it may harm your defence if you do not mention when questioned something that you later rely on in court.”

Here is the question that I think about:

What do you do if your accuser is a load of ‘ones’ and ‘zeros’?

This is the background: Polity are institutionally lazy. I know I have been the victim of many thefts and they are not interested.

So how does polity churn through millions of social media posts every day looking for hurty words? They don’t, they get AI to do it for them. So when the ‘puter flags up hurty words polity just rummage around in their quiver looking for the right criminal charge arrows to fitup the person writing the hurty words. Then they go knocking on doors. No need to do any work for the next two years because they are already working on a case Serge’.

Our left-leaning journos are nothing if not consistent – with their headline phrasing at least – once they’ve hit on a construction they like they’ll repeat it ad nauseam whatever the subject matter…

Well, to be fair, and to play the game, so to speak – the failing Ukraine is – just like our own NHS – in danger of being ‘overwhelmed’ this winter…

Will Trump trigger Ukraine’s defeat? (Channel 4) – nope, Donald Trump isn’t in command of the Russian military juggernaut that’s beating our Nato proxy Ukraine down there in the Donbas.

By the way, hat tip to Academic Agent channel on You Tube, which highlights for us Betteridge’s Law of Headlines

Betteridge’s Law of Headlines is the idea that any headline that ends in a question mark can be answered with “no”. The law is named after British journalist Ian Betteridge, who wrote about it in 2009. The law is based on the idea that if the publishers were confident in the answer, they would have stated it as an assertion. – thank you AI Overview

    For example:

Will Kamala Harris become president despite losing to Trump? Will that be right? (India Today) – that’s a daft throw away one.

Of course the law only really holds true when the headline appears in some regime-adjacent media outlet.

Has Kamala Harris got what it takes to beat Trump? (Anthony Zurcher, BBC, 22 July 2024) – NO!

Can Kamala Harris win on the economy? (BBC Newsnight, 29 October 24) – NO!

Can Kamala Harris win on the economy? (The Economist, 4 August 24) – same again… all together now… NO!

In the Bob Mortimer and Andy Dawson comedy podcast there’s a new comic character invention, a new northeast-based rapper, named MC Boro – his shtick is “Safety First”

    Clench yer cheeks!
Yer wife isn’t washin’ now, for a good couple a weeks,
    Safety first, Ken!

Safety first, you say? Well, it’s a major new buzz phrase in the news headlines these days…

BBC secret filming shows pubs not enforcing safety scheme (BBC)

Church of England ‘not a safe institution’, bishop for safeguarding tells BBC (BBC)

College to host safe space for children (BBC)

Will new battery-powered trains replace diesel, and are they safe? (BBC) – Ooops… there’s a possible double whammy headline style-wise to round off this little review of the headlines.

    These non crime hate incidents.

It seems that they are all complaints by woke lefties saying some post or other upsets them.

What would happen if, for example, all of us on here spent the rest of the day submitting complaints to the police about the lefties on X or FB who regularly post daft provocative things.
Every Gaza post, every net zero post and so on we could say we find offensive.
Would the police have to go round doing an Alison Pearson on every complaint we make or is it only lefties who are allowed to complain.

Someone with a big reach (Elon?) could orchestrate a mass submitting of complaints to the police from hundreds of thousands of us on X to submit say 100 complaints each. When the police get multi millions of complaints would they investigate every one and if not why not.
Would the whole system break down.

It’s possible that the police would relish these mass complaints as their crime detection numbers would probably shoot up and they could ignore even more of the real crimes.
They could up the shoplifting allowance from £200 to £2,000
I think burglary and car theft is no longer part of police work apart from them issuing insurance numbers.

The Manchester Airport type of offences look to be forgotten and it’s only when someone on the right does something such as shout at a police dog or say a police horse looks gay that they spring into action with the full force of the law.

We really need our own ‘Trump’ here who would get the police back to being neutral and become respected as they were before when PC meant Police Constable.
