The latest meme from Labour’s Chancellor and the BBC.

Actually not a new thought, regurgitated by the Conservatives when in power and the usual so called business leaders, economists and university well to do.

” Britain must lead the way in…..”

Again it’s now high tech industries and ” green renewables” and everything exciting about A New Way Forward .This will give everyone a career.

And all the world ( China, Russia, the EU, Brazil, India, everyone) will be so admired by our Net Zero they will do the same.
Because our Powers That Be are so much more intelligent than their PTB. Even when we lose out. Doesn’t matter to the economy.., Jobs.. state of infrastructure.. resilience to emergencies… ability to defend ourselves.
It’s being the leader in… giving an example to.. soft power… being at the top table… having influence… Always internationalist… We set up an international treaty… Lose face… What would the World think of us?..

OK, to be a leader in this high tech stuf

Do we have the best education system in the world?
By that I don’t mean Oxford and Cambridge

    And the other problem is

    Do we value jobs.?

    I mean jobs.
    Not just careers, but jobs?
As in jobs that keep the country going, sewerage, fresh water etc?
Or even jobs that the likes of the BBC type wouldn’t do but don’t even know exist?
I fact the jobs that they would rather put a Brit on the dole because they think Johnny Foigner should do the job because they deem it beneath themselves.

    Meanwhile the jobs go to…

Context to the Humberide Police 2:30am call
It was first mentioned on March 5th in a longer 2 minute clip which seemed to be on Tik Tok
The name suggests a location at Snaith, which is near Goole
          .. https://x.com/HoodedClaw1974/status/1897270715692540086

The is a lack of updates from the police so that suggests the posts were legal
Seems the posts were made by her autistic son , complaining about bullying or something.
.. Of course the police have a duty to stop immediate risk of violence if the posts were set to cause that
but they don’t seem to do that.

Today she says “They wanted the video down cos they had misinformed me of a right to review”
The two new documents mention South Yorkshire Police and a school
.. Maybe there was some decision between South Yorkshire Police and the school against her son
Then she had put up a video saying she wanted a review
Humberside police told her take down the video
The document she posts today from South Yorks apolgises to her over confusion

The standard blurb mentions that you are not allowed to publicly name teachers
I guess that she had not done that , but the Humberside Police were acting as if she had.

Snaith is on the border of the two police areas .. so she may live in one and the school be in another

For your entertainment (?) our BBC go straight in there with the classic journalistic ‘despite’

Disney’s Snow White film tops box office despite bad reviews

Mirror, mirror, on the wall…. who is the wokest of us all?

The revamp of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs became a flashpoint for social and political divisions, even before it reached cinemas around the world.

That included some criticism of the casting of Rachel Zegler, who is of Colombian descent, as the heroine.

There was also a backlash about Zegler’s pro-Palestinian comments and about pro-Israel comments by Israeli actress Gal Gadot, who plays Snow White’s stepmother, the Evil Queen.

And there is an ongoing debate about whether there should have been dwarfs in the film at all, live or computer-generated imagery

With its creepy CGI dwarfs and muddled tone, Disney’s latest live-action remake is “not calamitous” but is “a mind-boggling mash-up”, the BBC’s Nicholas Barber said.

    Hi-Ho, as they say.

Sincere apologies to Jeannie C. Riley, mam, not forgettin’ Miss Dolly Parton, yessaree sir, most obliged mam, for a borrowin’ a li’l toon of y’alls that went by the name of Harper Valley P.T.A.

This is mah version, somethin’ I like to call the anti-U.S. A.I.D.

    Listen up now folks..

I wanna tell you all a story ’bout
    An American president’s second term
    He held a press conference
Attended by the Democrat-leaning international media high
Well, the journos reported worldwide on TV every afternoon
And they didn’t even stop to play
They said, “BBC, repeat this note here from the Democrat media high.”

Well, the note said, “Mr Tump
We LIKE our taxes up way too high
It’s been reported you’ve been racist
And a-running ’round with Putin and goin’ wild
And we DO believe you oughta be a-lettin’
Biological males beat our little girls at sports this way”
And it was signed by the US liberal Democrat media
    BBC, Reuters and PA

Well, it happened that the press corps was gonna meet
    That very afternoon
And boy they were sure surprised
When Elon Musk wore his baseball cap into that Oval room
And as he Roman saluted Tweetin’ out on X
I can still recall the words he had to say
He said, “I’d like to stop tax funding of the anti-U.S. A.I.D.”

Well, there’s Hunter Biden sittin’ there
And seven times he’s asked his pusher for a fix
And Ms. Harris sure seemed to use a lotta ice
    Whenever she was interviewed
And Mr. Clinton can you tell us why
Your intern had to leave this town?
And shouldn’t Barack Obama be told to keep
His pulling the strings more completely on the low down

Well, Mr. Biden couldn’t be here
‘Cause he stayed too long and dozed off in his basement hideaway again
And if you smell Kamala’s breath
You’ll find she’s had a little nip of gin
And then you have the nerve to tell us
You think that as the president Trump’s not fit
Well, this is just a little Peyton Place
    And you’re all Washington hypocrites”

No, I wouldn’t put you on because it really did
    It happened just this way
The day J.D. socked it to Zelensky of the Ukraine
The day Elon socked it to the anti-U.S. A.I.D.

Are you a ‘today ‘ fan ? If so here is a cut and paste from the telegraph about the presenters . I hope it’s worth the read as I couldn’t be arsked….

STARTS It would be perfectly understandable if the Today programme’s rota didn’t feature all that highly on the list of things troubling the minds of the British public. If you are an avid Radio 4 listener, however, and not one of the 650,000 the station has lost in the past three months, you might spare a thought for whomever has had the task of scheduling presenters in between Mishal Husain’s exit and the arrival of her replacement, Anna Foster.

If you have switched on your radio some time between 6am and 9am in recent months, you may have been accompanied through your morning by the cheerful tones of Amol Rajan and Emma Barnett. On another day, you might have tuned in to hear Nick Robinson and Justin Webb skewering a cabinet minister or two, the next day to Webb and Barnett, or to Rajan and Robinson.

The one combination you won’t have heard – and for 90-odd days and counting now – is Barnett and Robinson. Why? There is talk of “tension” between the two. A lack of on-air chemistry, as one source described it to The Times; “clashing egos” as another suggested in the Mail on Sunday, or what an insider referred to, somewhat more diplomatically, as the “inevitable stresses and strains caused by the pairing of two strong characters”.
The Times reported BBC bosses had been handed a scheduling headache, with alleged tension between the pair apparently contributing to how little they have shared Today programme presenting duties since Barnett joined in May last year. They have co-presented 13 times, where others have been paired together more regularly (though it should be noted Rajan and Webb have also only done 16 programmes together). A source told the Mail on Sunday an on-air slight which happened late last year could be at the root of it, though it wasn’t clear who had been left slighted.

BBC insiders insist schedules at Today have been out of the ordinary following the departure in December of Husain (whose exit reportedly provoked dismay among her BBC colleagues). The presenting rota should, apparently, settle with Foster’s arrival.

Barnett, 40, was once The Telegraph’s women’s editor before leaving for the BBC where she went on to front Woman’s Hour. When she joined Today last May after having been widely tipped for the promotion, it was hailed as a clever move by the broadcaster, which needed to inject new life into its flagship show. Her debut was roundly praised; The Telegraph’s Chris Bennion gave it four stars, declaring her to have been “as assured as she’d have hoped”. The Guardian pondered whether her “relaxed tone” meant the listener was being offered something too close to the Barnett from “earlier radio homes”. Over the past year, listeners have blown hot and cold. Some think her a breath of fresh air, others find her style abrasive. Not that Robinson, 61, has always enjoyed universal popularity himself. He has been criticised for what some allege is a pro-Conservative bias.

Today chooses pairs of presenters from a pool. At one point in recent times there were six possible presenters on the roster. It meant, for one insider, that unlike in the days of John Humphrys, Sue MacGregor and James Naughtie, or Brian Redhead and John Timpson, there was no longer a central, go-to team. Instead, a more disparate group of presenters could be swapped in and out and paired up in different combinations. It’s a loss to the show, says one source. “Now, you don’t know what the combination will be, and I think the potential loss there is that you only build chemistry when people work together a lot.”

The chemistry shared by Redhead and Timpson, for example, was built on hours spent at the coalface together. “[They] weren’t people who socialised together. What they were was a very good team where if one of them [delivered] a funny line, the other one would roll with it and not be antsy about it,” says one insider. “They would appreciate the professionalism of the other that you get simply by working together a lot.”

These days, the presenters change regularly. “The Today programme, in a way, you could argue almost has too many presenters,” the insider says. The programme used to have “quite small teams so they worked together all the time”. “I saw someone talking about the ‘gap in the roster’ which Anna Foster is filling. Actually, you can do the Today programme with three presenters.” When Foster arrives, there will be five central presenters.

Insiders told The Times that the gap in Barnett and Robinson sharing the studio (they last presented together in mid-December) was partly a result of an agreement with Barnett to work fewer shifts. She recently published a book called Maternity Service about maternity leave, and has launched a children’s colouring book company with her husband.

She is not the only Today presenter to have other commitments outside the programme. Rajan, 41, has University Challenge, as well as a relatively new interview TV show. “Generally presenters wouldn’t have done that,” says one source. “That’s where you get into a problem about how you do the rota, because Amol is away for two weeks and Emma is away for a week and Nick is doing a foreign assignment.” It means, the source says, the programme may lack a central duo to push it forward.

The Telegraph’s Ben Lawrence recently declared Today to have gone soft. “We have entered a touchy-feely age, where the attack-dog mentality of Humphrys, who left it in 2019, feels like it is firmly in the past.” Husain was considered the programme’s true interrogator-in-chief. The programme’s softer edge is indicative, says Lawrence, of “a BBC that is timid about its identity, tired of being dragged over hot coals regarding impartiality and thus ending up in a kind of centrist mush which arguably pleases nobody”.
One insider feels the programme lacks an A-team. “I think in the past there has been a sense of who the A-team is. [It used to be] Humphrys, Naughtie, Macgregor, whichever combination you had. I think now it’s quite hard to see who is the A-team on the Today programme. You couldn’t really work it out, because they all do bits and bobs.”

The choice of Foster, 45, who has been Middle East correspondent in Beirut, to replace Husain was a controversial one to those who had assumed Katya Adler was a shoo-in. “Anna is not necessarily a household name yet, but she is very well respected at the BBC, a cool head under pressure and seen as both professional and able to engage listeners – making difficult subjects interesting,” a BBC insider told The Sunday Times.

Today’s weekday audience has fallen by 112,000 to 5.73 million in three months, it was reported in February. BBC executives are no doubt hoping Foster’s arrival helps boost the figures. And whoever does the rota will, you assume, be breathing a sigh of relief.ENDS

The comments tend to be people saying they used to listen but the lefty bias got so strong the off switch was applied …

Certainly – listening to our Justin being bored talking to some DEI Marxist who is ‘transport Secretary ‘ – about the shambols of Heathrow – why bother listening ,

  14. Doublethinker says:

Yesterday I listened to a Telegraph podcast which attempted to uncover the ‘real’ Tommy Robinson presented by Camilla Tominey.

She set out with the opinion that no self respecting journalist should ever interview Tommy as he was a racist troublemaker intent on stirring up as much Islamophobia as possible.
She ended up with the opinion that he was all of those things but that he wasn’t doing it because he cared about young white girls but for reasons of self aggrandisement.
She never explored the reason why Tommy had been trying to expose the Muslim rape and torture gang scandal for more than a decade and had been punished for doing so and that the establishment had covered it all up. That is the crux of the whole TR crusade but she skirted round it. So much for investigative journalism.
She talked to two people who knew him and had worked with him. One was a ‘peace and harmony ‘ worker in Luton who told her that community relations had vastly improved over the past ten years and that-the people of Luton now despised Tommy.
The second person was a woman who had been Tommy’s videographer for two years. She had been pushed out of her job for unspecified reasons and she said that Tommy was on the whole easy to get along with and quite liked him but that he was impulsive and that got him into trouble.
Camilla clearly believed that if the law was punishing Tommy then he must be guilty and that he was sentenced appropriately. She obviously doesn’t believe that two tier justice is now a reality in our country nor that the law is being used to support the establishment against the people.
She also seems to believe that any opposition to the Islamification of our country is unjustified and ought to be punished and suppressed. She didn’t say this but I believe this was implicit in her take on things.
If anyone on the DT staff thought that this podcast would do anything to damage the standing of TR there were badly mistaken. She was just parroting the establishment and confirming all their prejudices against the white working class.

Double – no mainstream journo is ever going to give TR a fair shake because the way things are it would be career suicide .

It’s a reason there is no ‘press freedom ‘ – they self censor – they avoid certain subjects – so there are few real ‘investigations ‘ which might upset the state / WEF ….

Enemies are identified and either completely cancelled – or worse – as has happened to TR until he dies …

Yes but the point I think is that the entire legacy media must know that they are losing control of the narrative which supports Globalism to the hilt. Their fight back strategy is two pronged:
Firstly to double down on the approved narrative , which is what this piece is , secondly to back increased censorship of any other narrative , which is what the persecution of TR is.
They don’t seem to realise that once control has been lost and people begin to perceive the truth control can’t be regained. Nor do they realise that in the modern world there are so many modes of communication that sealing them all off and allowing people only a very limited choice is impossible.
I accept that most people in the UK are still getting their information from the legacy media but the number who use ‘alternative’ unapproved sources is growing exponentially. With Elon Musk and JD Vance championing free speech the Globalist elite are in deep trouble.

The recent Heathrow fire closure debacle is a good illustration of why Green is not good. I’ve always maintained that whether or not there is MMGW the so called solutions are not solutions at all. The lack of technological and engineering know-how being applied is appalling, not to mention the lack of application of proper financial accounting. Lets look at the options, all incredibly expensive:

EV’s………Heavy on natural resources, limited application
Onshore wind,…………Barely viable without subsidy or even with
    Offshore wind….Forget it
    Biomass……….Ridiculous nonsense
    Wave energy………..unviable
Bio fuels……..Lots of extra costs and processing, bio resources?
    Solar farms………Please insult me
    Heat pumps…….Please wake up
    Carbon capture………Unproven nonsense
Battery storage………One of the most unviable and useless technologies

Of all the proposed measures the only one making any sense at all is better insulation for homes and other buildings.
The agenda is being driven by politicians with zero scientific knowledge and spiv companies making money out of it all.
All we are doing is making our lives economically unviable while the rest of the World just get on with making and selling stuff.

In the UK, under Labour, the fictional story of the murderous white boy on the left will be discussed openly in Parliament.
However, the true horrific story of the murderous black boy on the right, was forbidden, by law, to be discussed in Parliament.
    … Why?

    Control The Narrative II —

I see once again that the bandwidth of emotional expression our state allows never includes frustration, despondency, rage etc but can only accomodate sadness and anxiety — for which it will devote endless airtime. Textbook example here getting Victoria Derbyshire on Newsnight to probe the male psyche in the only way they know how… by asking teenage boys “When was the last time you cried?”

Because of one TV show and some bloke in Romania with lots of fancy cars, testosterone will be outlawed.

Possibly I’m a bit late on this clip, but I had to go to Asda, as they’re now cheaper than Aldi, and also M&S which is neither, but I like this young lady!

There have been numerous pointers by various commentators, about TTK’s involvement when he was a Pre-Sir, and if all this is proved to be true, then I think the disgrace should permeate through the whole shebang of left-wing – and red ‘tory’ political shenanigans, and cause several resignations.

Nothing from the Non-British Wireless Pravda of course – they’ll never touch a story like this!

The BBC has come up with a good idea. But BIG
BROTHER from the Diversity Department must be
shitting ” itself” on what folk with Alzheimer’s
can watch from the past, Because there was so much
which is now considered politically incorrect.
We just saw in the IPM news. A gentleman with long
time Alzheimer and who very rarely even says anything.
Remembering and mentioning Ronnie Barker In Porridge .
BUT I very much expect quite a bit of Porridge being
edited before BIG BROTHER allowing it to be shown..
AS for ” The Black and White Minstrel Show. Series such
as ” It aint half hot mum.” ” Are you being served?” etc being
    allowed.
For sure films such as ” The Dam Busters” ” North West Frontier” etc would never be shown.
I suppose Guy Gibson’s black Labrador could be dubbed to
Digger. BUT can you imagine some poor bloke who hasn’t
spoken and is in an all but comatose state watching an even
dubbed version . Or even the dog’s name not mentioned.
And after 10 years without saying a word. Blurts out
” Come here *igger” If this was recorded . I expect BIG BROTHER would give “itself” a heart attack. How many more programmes
for Alzheimer sufferers ,would be for the chopping block?

The 617 Squadron’s mascot, a Labrador, died on the day of the famous “bouncing bomb” raid on German dams in 1943.

Not the BBC; but I received this from the National Grid recently:

    “Hello,

With named storms passing through more regularly, it’s good to be prepared for potential power cuts. Whatever the conditions, National Grid is here to keep the lights on and support you 24/7.

    Switched on advice

Visit the Switched On Hub and you’ll find lots of useful help and information about what to do if the power goes down. Plus safety advice should you come across fallen power lines, or if your home is flooded.

    … … Power Cut? Call 105 … …”

Note their wording – “With named storms passing through more regularly …”

The decision to name storms is somewhat arbitrary. It does help to identify separate adverse weather events but really depends on the degree of alarm that the authorities wish to raise. This is a subjective judgment and, given the emotionalization and personalization of so much in the media these days, we can expect more of it.

Note also the words “more regularly”. I don’t know whether this is true; it may be. But, again, how much of this judgment is subjective? Is it partly the case that these weather matters are talked about more nowadays because they appear to fit in with some preconceived agenda about climate change and our culpability for it?

London mosques broadcast call to prayer
          7 May 2020

Tim Dieppe comments on the recent allowance for several mosques in East London to broadcast the Islamic call to prayer during Ramadan.
Mosques in London have been allowed to broadcast the Islamic call to prayer for the first time due to lockdown restrictions during Ramadan. The Metro reports that Waltham Forest Local Authority agreed that nine mosques could use speakers to broadcast the Adhaan at sunset daily throughout Ramadan, and again on Fridays for Juma prayers.

The East London mosque in Whitechapel has been broadcasting the Adhaan for many years, but this is a first for the Waltham Forest area. When Muslims hear the call to prayer that is a signal that they can break their fast which lasts during daylight hours in the month of Ramadan.
