Talking of “X”..
“Am I overweight ?”
Boomers: “You could lose a few pounds”
Millenials: “No, you’re beautiful”
Gen Z: “We don’t body shame, no, you’re not”
Gen X: “I know five fat people and you’re four of them”
aye she doesn’t sweat much for a fat lass.
Mrs Wright has informed me that after watching a BBC chat show this morning that she will no longer take her morning cuppa tea in her 1953 Coronation mug because to do so might poison her owing to the lead content used to produce the picture of the Queen on the side of said mug which is quite heavily glazed.
So I have two questions
1 Are Mrs Wright’s fears justified?
2 Does anyone on this site remember a TV program called Rock Steady?
The two questions are related and as far as I am aware I am not yet senile.
I remember a live music TV show called Revolver, hosted by Peter Cooke, no less, playing the ignorant “club owner”, in 1978.
One issue I have with lefties, is their arrogant distaste for anything commercial.
Years ago, I sold concrete to various companies building the M20, and the M25. In between these jobs, we supplied concrete to smaller developments, and I would meet the buyers regularly, as they were great guys – and gals – and we got the orders.
One day, I was chatting with the buyer of a big South Eastern contractor, and he let slip that he didn’t agree with Margaret Thatcher’s way of doing things, as he wanted to expound his socialist theories!
Of course, I had to pander to his stupidity, but always wondered why someone with such ingrained, silly ideals became a man whom every concrete salesman would crawl bollock naked over fifty yards of broken glass to get an appointment!
Aren’t lefties odd people?

You must have had a slush fund then ?
And what happened if you didn’t sell it fast enough ? did you have to have a rock sale ?
A very toxic and deliberately misleading polemic about the White working class…and others. They, of course, are racist but thankfully the younger ones are less so….unlike the dinosaur oldies fighting old battles in what is now a beautiful, multicultural Britain.
‘Underdogs by Joel Budd’

It’s an extremely nasty piece of work that is solely designed to demonise Whites and celebrate and promote immigration. There is only one side to this tale.
But it’s not just the old racist dinosaurs there are also the sly populists[ie Reform] who cover up their racism by characterising their opposition to mass immigration in economic terms…and then there’s the other Whites, the clever ones…they who won’t say anything openly racist but say we must give a voice to the concerns of those who are worried about immigration…they are in fact racists as well.
Apparently migrants pay so much tax that if we didn’t have them we’d all be paying much, much more…but of course that’s a complete lie….migrants cost us billions…and that’s just the legal ones…the illegals are if anything more expensive per head costing eye-watering sums….and then there’s the other costs…the housing queues, the NHS waitng lists, the schools, the roads, the infrastructure buckling under the strain of an ever increasing population…and the social costs…the crime, the division , the hate, the anti-white, anti-British war on us by them and their collaborators.
The BBC is a very poisonous and toxic organisation that seems to be deliberately trying to destroy Britain.
Funny how it’s OK for a Black on the BBC to call other Blacks ‘coconuts’ when they adapt too well for his liking to their new country…and funny how he can eulogise about the Shona Empire but the British Empire is uniquely bad….surely, like any empire, the Shona one was bloody and oppressive….but it’s OK because they were Blacks oppressing and killing, and no doubt enslaving, other Blacks.

Got to laugh at the hypocrisy…or stupidity…and also the failure of the BBC to call it out.
Lots of discussion about Trump’s tariffs….naturally they’re a terrible thing…Wato dragged in Labour’s Liam Byrne to give us his thoughts…Trump’s tariffs are a terrible thing…but seconds later he demanded we impose measures to prevent cheap Chinese steel ‘flooding in’ here. Also no mention that Biden imposed huge tariffs on China…as indeed has the EU.
It is curious how there is Trump and then there is what others do…and in the BBC’s world they must never mix….Clinton who also voted for a ‘wall’ and demanded controls on immigration..and of course claims her election was ‘stolen’….and then there’s Poland which has built a ‘wall’ and is busily cracking down hard on immigration…to little comment and no outrage from the likes of the BBC.
and then there’s Tesla…and the Democrat-voting terrorist attacks on cars, drivers and dealers….oddly I’ve yet to hear a thing about this on the BBC…a long current report on Tesla here and nothing….

Trump is bad…and everything Trump does is uniquely bad….and we’ll just ignore the fact that so many others do exactly what Trump does.
We know that Miliband & Co are recklessly wrecking industry and our lives by imposing swingeing green taxes….adding at least 25% to energy costs and shutting down swathes of industry…only for us to import the stuff we now can’t afford to make here…but made in countries that use coal to produce their power.
You get a taste of the nut zero zealotry in this series in which the Greens are able to say outrageous things and its presented as normal, desirable and indeed necessary to ‘save the planet’.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m00297dc
In this episode we hear that we must tax fossil fuels until the pips squeak and make it ever more expensive until no-one can afford to use it…never mind if there’s anything to replace it. Then there’s the hairshirt, back to the stone-age desire to stop all consumption…if only we made most things here we wouldn’t have to import from far distant lands on polluting ships…we need to go back in time to happier and utopian days when we made everything we needed by hand in little cottages and no more than we need to survive, when we walked everywhere, but too far, and of course we were ruled by a powerful elite who thought they were superior in every aspect to the common man and used superstition and religious doctrine to enforce and justify their oppression.
Claire Fox is going to get a visit?

There is a very long piece in the DT Saturday discussing the BBC attitude towards benefits – people living off your money
It’s worth the effort
STARTS
When Ben Chu was asked on BBC Two’s Newsnight whether Labour had brought back austerity, the economics editor jumped straight into an analysis of benefits cuts.
“If we’re talking about cuts in benefits then that does seem to be a reasonable description,” he said. “Whether you call it austerity or not, it’s going to be certainly very painful for those individuals.”
The comments set the tone for the programme – and the broadcaster’s coverage of Rachel Reeves’s Spring Statement more widely.
For the BBC and other broadcasters, there appeared to be just one focus: welfare.
Despite warnings about the growing unsustainability of Britain’s benefits bill from both the Left and the Right, the BBC instead chose to treat welfare like a sacred cow.
The economy is a magic money tree, they seem to claim, with more than enough money to go around if only the government of the day would put its mind to it.
