Time to defund the bBC. (hopefully that statement will not attract a police visit!)
FAKE NEWS!
They don’t need to learn to identify fake news given that most young people don’t get their news from the BBC these days. They’d be better off studying tea leaves or chicken bones that any BBC ‘news’.
And Kamal now writes for the DT…
Perhaps the headline could also add, ‘And recognise far-left bias’, when they see it…
They don’t seem to have come far since 2017 though have they! Presumably this was put out to start attracting a group of new kids from unis, to launch ‘Vilify’.
As night follows Leigh Day…

Afghanistan’s Taliban government has banned mixed martial arts (MMA), saying it is incompatibile with Islamic law.

Taliban or the BBC? Given that the Taliban would probably ban the BBC you might vote Taliban…but there’s little to choose between them…both have a similar world view and attitude to anything that is contrary to their zealously fanatical beliefs…and both believe in their divine right to judge and moralise.
MM,
Bit like road-side mines……………
Remarkable that the BBC completely ignores the story of Julian Foulkes’s arrest by the ‘thought-police’ and their subsequent admission that there was no crime to answer for.
Last time they did mention him was back in 2010 when his daughter was killed in a car accident…
‘A 21-year-old woman from the Medway towns in Kent has been killed outside a nightclub in Ibiza.
Francesca Foulkes, of Rainham, suffered fatal injuries when she was hit by a suspected hit-and-run driver in San Antonio in the early hours of Sunday.
Her father, Julian Foulkes, a special constable with Kent Police, has paid tribute to a “wonderful person”.’’
But as he’s a suspicious ‘brexity type’ reading Douglas Murray books…nah…not worth a second look.
You might think that the BBC would be out to tackle abhorrent police behaviour, possibly corrupt behaviour in that they seem to have taken it upon themselves to monitor and censure our thoughts and have become highly politicised and ideological.
Not a lot of ‘holding power to account’ at the BBC in regard to the police as they slowly morph into the enemy of the public rather than its guardians. The police have become an arm of leftwing politicians and lobby groups, in thrall to ideologies that are far from the mainstream that are potentially harmful to society. They are rapidly losing the trust and respect of that mainstream.
Britain is slowly morphing into a Soviet-type state with police, media and politicians being unaccountable and working in tandem to crush and suppress inconvenient thoughts and expression.
Would Farage have the balls to take a bulldozer to this vast system of entrenched, privileged, entitled corruption? Doubt it somehow given his baulking and cringing at saying the ‘unsayable’ now about Islam and immigration.
The weird priorities of the BBC as Amber Heard’s baby count and a suitcase full of hermit crabs trumps a US-China trade agreement.
Given that the BBC et al have spent the last couple of weeks claiming that Trump’s tariffs will lead to economic armageddon one might think that the US and China closing in on a deal would be headline news…apparently not. Guessing the BBC doesn’t want to admit all its frantic scaremongering was was much overdone given that we know Trump was always angling for a deal and the headline tariffs were just a starting point not the endgame. Similar with Canada….when Trump met Carney he was very diplomatic to him…the media immediately claimed Carney had played a blinder and had out-maneuvered Trump….but of course Trump is always like that in these meetings regardless of what he had said previously…unless you say something out of turn as did Zelensky.
I imagine when a deal is finally sealed the BBC will report China is the winner due to it out-thinking and out-maneuvering Trump.
… and in their latest piece on Ukraine, the BBC are desperately trying to imply a possible peace deal is the work of the ‘coallition of the willing’ and not Trump.
‘Western powers called for a 30-day pause in fighting to begin on Monday after European leaders spearheading the so-called “coalition of the willing” met in Kyiv on Saturday.’
‘Putin’s offer of direct talks followed that intervention.’
It’s just ridiculous. The political commissars who are instructing the clones are so twisted by ideological hatred, they cannot write a straight story any more if it involves Trump.
President Trump certainly saw TTK coming, and TTK’s usual answer is to screw British workers (again), by giving India a huge wedge and call it a ‘deal’!
One day, you’d rather hope that Starmer would actually give some money back to the people who elected him, all 20%, instead of chucking it around the world like a man with no arms!
I’m already down several quid after the huge increase in taxes this year, and we’ve only been going a month since the new financial year.
‘Steady The Buffs’, Nigel, you’ll have a huge job to do in 2029, but your mandate will see off the far-left Labour forever!
Sorry, but I don’t believe they’ll make any difference. Unless they fire the entire Civil Service and start from scratch.
I read that the BBC are planning to try to move units into schools and colleges to provide “recognising disinformation” studies.
They are now getting very close to the antics of the Communists in China are they not?
What a dangerous bunch they are!
The BBC focus their definition of ‘disinformation’ entirely on the spreading of false information. And they do that for a very specific reason : they themselves cannot be accused of it because they do not do it explicitly – otherwise they would be up in front of MP’s.
But information like that can be checked using the internet as you are made aware of the false claim someone is trying to sell you.
Far, far worse than that is what the BBC do : deliberately try to hide or disguise information about a story by simply not reporting it, tucking it away at the end of a lengthy article or blowing certain other parts of the story up out of proportion (eg using victims and empathy) to make them seem far more significant than they really are in the bigger picture.
This method does not give you the ‘lie’ at all. But it stops you knowing the full truth in order to make you think something is true which isn’t. For example, the lack of reporting about Hamas using UN hospitals, UN schools and UN refugee camps as operating bases makes the story seem like the IDF targetted civilians when in fact they were aiming at terrorists.
You can be 100% certain the BBC will not teach anyone how to spot lies by omission. Because they are the ones they use the most.
JohnC- very well argued . The legitimacy of the BBC was easily destroyed . Palestine is an Islamic terrorist run ‘non state’ but the BBC pretends it has ‘legitimacy’ thus citing claims by Islamic Hamas as though they are ‘true’ .
Similarly – once the BBC stopping questioning / challenging Green crap – it’s’ whole reporting became illegitimate . I suppose it’s a bit like those who believed the planet was flat but then had to face the truth when proved it is round .
But there are still 4 corners of the earth …
Germany blows up a power station…
I can remember when many though the Germans clever and competent.
Q:Why isn’t the clearly idiotic Net Zero policy being challenged?
A: Bribery
I am sure that for most BBC staff the future of the Licence Fee and the future funding of the BBC is the major concern.
But for the political class who will decide those two big BBC issues there is another more intractable problem, how do they get the public to continue to use the BBC ?
If the influence of the BBC continues to decline how can the woke globalist agenda continue to be pushed down our throats ? How can they stop us finding our news and views from alternate unapproved sources ?
Merely giving the BBC vast amounts of tax payers money won’t guarantee that tax payers actually watch or listen to the BBC.
Censoring out the internet is I think virtually impossible , particularly when Trump, Vance and Musk are all such strong advocates of free speech. They will always promote ways round any censorship that is put in place.
I have reached a point where if the government does fund the foul corporation from direct taxation I don’t care much as long as it’s viewing and listener figures continue to decline.
“BBC continues to decline how can the woke globalist agenda continue to be pushed down our throats ”

Funding. Just Stop Oil reports that all their funding is through donations, with the group accepting both traditional currency and cryptocurrencies. In April 2022, it was reported that Just Stop Oil’s primary source of funding was donations from the US-based Climate Emergency Fund.

I seem to recall a time when the creative arts of film and theatre were celebrated as the media primarily of entertainment and escapism, with the odd literary reflection on the human condition – not some long-form recap of the news headlines or a revision note lesson in current affairs…
But I suppose in an era when our prime minister is under the impression that a Netflix show with fictionalised characters cast in creatively written made-up situations is a ‘documentary’, then the line between fact and fantasy is now hopelessly blurred.
Toby Jones… and Monica Dolan… join the real Alan Bates as he presents them with the limited drama Bafta for Mr Bates vs The Post Office (Guardian) – limited drama…? That’s a TV Mini Series to you and me.
Billy Piper at the Baftas… starred in Scoop , about the BBC’s Prince Andrew interview (Times)
A somewhat ironic title if one recalls…
Scoop is a 1938 novel by the English writer Evelyn Waugh. It is a satire of sensationalist journalism and foreign correspondents – thank you Wiki.
The mildly conservative Telegraph, likewise with the Times, likes a red carpet photo-op parade party frock feature for a frontpage pin-up of the pulchritudinous actress the pseudo BBC Newsnight producer (fixer) Sam McAlister (instrumental in making the infamous Prince Andrew interview happen) but there’s a slightly anti-climatic caption where we’re told our Billy was nominated – not winner – and the show Scoop was simply a …retelling of the Duke of York’s interview with Newsnight. She lost to Marisa Abela
What’s next we wonder…? Stephen Lawrence or Jo Cox the mini series… sorry, ‘limited drama’? Or did they already do those?

Grenfell Tower as the new celebrity Big Brother house? I’m on fire, get me out of here! I know, that’s a different show, the one about the jungle. All survivors guaranteed to win indefinite leave to remain.
I’m oddly reminded of a comic sequence from Larry David’s Curb Your Enthusiasm set at a dinner party in LA where some young wannabe celebrity from the TV reality show Survivor gets into a cross table shouting match with another of Larry’s guests – a friend of his father’s, an elderly jewish holocaust victim. The young man complains “My trainers wore out, I was reduced to wearing flip-flops, we didn’t even have access to a gym, there were no snacks between meals! Did you watch the show?” The concentration camp victim replies “Snacks! We went weeks without food. Did you even see our show!” The confrontation escalates with each yelling at the other “Call yourself a survivor? I’m a survivor!”
Glancing at the telegraph review of the bafta bash i appreciate how out of touch i am – unknown luvvies winning awards for stuff i have never heard of – although i have heard of Stacy and Gavin – the title was enough . Snob ? Moi?
Apparently is was a regular DEI fest so in need of that fat comedy bloke who did some US award stuff

Questions abut Trump and Israel.
Trumps in talks with Hamas. Is he becoming Biden 2 as one commentator asks?

The Trump administration is talking directly to Hamas regarding ending the war in Gaza and bringing in more humanitarian aid, a senior Palestinian official told Reuters.
Trump has expressed concern over the plight of Gazans and has vowed to begin US efforts to transfer aid.
The US State Department did not comment on the matter.
Trump has indicated he is opposed to Israel’s plans for an expanded ground operation in the Gaza Strip, according to a report published Sunday afternoon.
NBC News reported there were six sources, among them two U.S. officials, two Middle Eastern diplomats, and two other sources, claiming that the relationship between Trump and Netanyahu has soured recently, with rising tensions between the White House and Jerusalem.

Gaslighting is a form of emotional abuse where someone manipulates another person into doubting their own sanity, perception of reality, or memories. It’s a tactic used to control and dominate another individual, often by creating a state of confusion and dependency.

STARTS Born in Ealing, Reeta Chakrabarti was sent to India as a teenager to study – the opposite of many multicultural families growing up in the 1970s. She returned in her late teens to study at Oxford University, before working at the BBC as a news journalist and presenter. Over the last three decades she has reported on major news stories including the murder of Stephen Lawrence, the killing of Damilola Taylor, the European migrant and Rohingya crises, and the Covid pandemic. Today she is a patron of Pan Intercultural Arts, an organisation that promotes marginalised youths to unlock their creative potential, and has just published her first novel.ENDS THANK GOD

Restoring control over the immigration system: white paper
https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/restoring-control-over-the-immigration-system-white-paper
This white paper sets out our plans to reform the immigration system. It links the immigration, skills and visa systems to:
grow our domestic workforce
end reliance on overseas labour
boost economic growth
Later this Summer, we will set out further reforms to the asylum system and to border
security in response to irregular and illegal migration, including plans for new legislation building on the new measures already set out in the Border Security, Asylum and Immigration Bill that is currently passing through Parliament.
…………………………………………………
First, net migration must come down so the system is properly managed and

controlled.
Second, the immigration system must be linked to skills and training requirements
here in the UK, so that no industry is allowed to rely solely on immigration to fill its
skills shortages.
Third, the system must be fair and effective, with clearer rules agreed by Parliament in
areas like respect for family life, to prevent confusion or perverse outcomes.
Fourth, the rules must be respected and enforced – from our crackdown on illegal
working to the deportation of foreign criminals.
And finally, the system must support integration and community cohesion, including
new rules on the ability to speak English and the contribution that people bring to the
UK.
