Start the Week 2nd June 2025

Over the weekend over 1500 people illegally arrived on the beaches of the South Coast of Britain . No one is stopping it . The BBC institutionally ignores it . But is more than ready to describe the breakdown of public services caused by it . Sooner or later it must stop .

Why Does the BBC Suddenly Care About Grooming Gangs?

    ……………….

Some were doused in petrol and threatened with being set alight, while others were threatened with guns, made to watch “brutally violent rapes” and warned they would be next if they told anyone.

      Philanthropy in Israel:
Blavatnik is a major donor to Israeli and Jewish causes through the Blavatnik Family Foundation. His contributions include:
Support for a Chabad-run food bank in Kiryat Malachi, providing monthly food shipments to 5,000 families across 25 Israeli cities.

Funding for the National Library of Israel and Birthright Israel, an organization offering free trips to Israel for young Jews.

Significant donations to Tel Aviv University, including the Blavatnik Center for Drug Discovery (launched in 2016) and the Blavatnik Interdisciplinary Cyber Research Center (established in 2014). These initiatives support biomedical research, cybersecurity, and academic programs.

The Blavatnik Awards for Young Scientists in Israel, co-administered with the Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities, which since 2017 has awarded $100,000 annually to promising scientists under 42.

He has served on the board of Tel Aviv University and is recognized for advancing scientific research and innovation in Israel.

      Business Interests:
Blavatnik owns a majority stake in Israel’s Channel 13 News through his company, Access Industries. This ownership has drawn scrutiny, particularly in 2024, when protests in the UK accused him of enabling censorship by appointing Yulia Shamalov-Berkovich, a reported ally of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, as CEO, and canceling an investigative program critical of Netanyahu. Blavatnik’s team denied editorial interference, emphasizing his commitment to press freedom.

He reportedly holds a stake in Nesher Israeli Cement Enterprises Ltd. through Access Industries’ ownership of Clal Industries.

From the DT – Tim Davie wants a higher licence tax – and why not ?

STARTS The BBC director general has called for a higher licence fee after taking aim at a decade of “grinding” cuts.
Tim Davie said he was open to reform of the fee and its enforcement, but made it clear that he wanted more money from the public to enable investment.
He said: “I do want universal funding and I want proper investment and not begrudging, grinding cuts to the BBC, which you’ve had in the last 10 years, which have just not helped.”
The call for investment amounts to a demand for a higher licence fee, which makes up two thirds of the BBC’s income. The BBC received around £3.7bn from the fee last year, which currently stands at £174.50.
It will rise in line with inflation until the end of the charter period in 2027. However, bosses have warned that previous cuts have left a black hole in the corporation’s finances that have forced the BBC to wield the axe on programming and jobs in a scramble to cut £700m in costs.
The public service broadcaster said that its income from the licence fee dropped by 30pc in real terms between 2010 and 2020 after a series of freezes and cuts to the levy.
Mr Davie’s comments come as the BBC is locked in discussions with ministers over the future of the licence fee.
The upcoming settlement is viewed as pivotal in deciding the broadcaster’s future as it struggles to compete with new US streaming services and faces calls for the licence fee to be scrapped.
The BBC’s declining income has been compounded by a fall in viewer numbers as audiences increasingly ditch the broadcaster in favour of rivals such as Netflix and Disney.
The number of UK households paying the licence fee dropped by roughly half a million last year, with younger viewers in particular turning their backs on the broadcaster.
The crisis has fuelled calls for the licence fee to be replaced with a different system such as a subscription service.
Speaking at the Deloitte and Enders Media and Telecoms conference in London, Mr Davie said his major concern was a “mainstream weaponisation where people don’t care” about the BBC.
He said the broadcaster would be wrong to “assume” that the public cared about its future and had to prove its worth to the country.
He defended the BBC by saying it was not just a vehicle for programming but also “venture capital for the UK”, pointing to its ability to drive investment in cities such as Birmingham and Manchester.
Lisa Nandy, the Culture Secretary, has previously branded the licence fee as “unenforceable” and ruled out funding the BBC through general taxation.
Speaking in London on Tuesday, Ms Nandy said the Government wanted to “support a BBC that is empowered to continue to deliver a vital public service, funded in a sustainable way”.ENDS

They THINK they’re a ‘public service’, and spend their bloated income like water, where in fact, they’re now a minority place to go for news, as there are so many alternative organisations with better observation, more pleasant interviewers, and generally, a better output with more honesty!

… when politicians start talking about ‘war’ it really is time to worry even more than the usual repressive Marxist stuff TTK comes out with …

How could Britain ever be able to ready for a war ? We don’t even know what it wouid look like next time . Cyber wars ? Terrorist attacks ? Infrastructure removal ? No power ?

Whatever it amounts to – a lefty human rights lawyer with no idea about war – spouting out the word is really frightening …

But on the up side Putin / china – know Britainistan is no threat to them and would only be a useful target to demonstrate to the US what a real war wouid look like if the US was attacked …
It the demoralisation caused by the daily invasion has been a Putin strategy – it has worked bigly – who’d fight for a country which allows that every – every – day …. ?

IDF says roads to Gaza aid centres are ‘combat zones’ as sites close for day
    https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cnv18gp4rdzo

This has now become ridiculous. This article has mor elies by omission than it has truth.

The KEY question here which the BBC ignore completely is who are the IDF fighting ?. Because there is only one possibility. It’s Hamas.

And why are Hamas trying to sabotage these aid points ?. Because they can’t steal it. They want the UN to let them have it like they did before.

To me, the above assertions are blatantly obvious. Everything else is just a consequence of that. Yet the BBC do not push this as a possible cause at all.

They don’t give a shit that Hamas has deliberately drawn fire onto civilians. All they care about is covering it up and making it seem like it’s Israels fault.

Somebody needs to do something about the gross misinformation from the BBC now. They are now so confident nobody will hold them to account that they are operating beyond any ethical boundaries. They are directly causing these deaths by reporting what Hamas want them to do.

The BBC epitomises everything that is wrong with Britain.
We are forced to pay for a product whether we want it or not with the threat of legal action if you don’t.
You can’t watch other live to air TV stations unless you pay to fund the BBC. If I shop at Aldi, I don’t have to give Tesco money to be allowed to shop there.
It is politically biased. It shoves its agenda down your throat, even through children’s programmes.
Its output is now shite. Sure that’s subjective, but I think it’s shite so do not wish to pay for it.
People are hounded even when they have declared they don’t require a TV licence. It’s like you have a holiday share in a court case whereby you are continually expected to defend yourself against prosecution in a never ending court case.
Lee, you used to work for the BBC. Yes I did. I also used to pay my TV licence fee as the BBC output was rather good then. Now it isn’t so I don’t pay for it any longer haven’t done so since 2017.
It’s the very privileged, law backed position, that has enabled the complacency that shovels out the sub standard garbage that is the problem.
If the BBC was a subscription based service, that people could choose to buy, it would HAVE to improve. So it would get better in quality or disappear. Either outcome would be an improvement.

This is not the dream that the BBC have told us would happen .. ‘Afrofeminist future world where everyone is a woman of colour‘ … it’s not where everyone is a woman of colour, this goes against the BBC dream of “By 2020, the BBC wants its employees to comprise 50% women, 8% disabled people, 8% lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender people and 15% people from black, Asian and ethnic minority backgrounds.{bbc.co.uk 14sep2017}”

Facebook comment “Remember back when we dreamed of a colorblind world? When we wanted equality and to see everyone as humans and look past things like skin color? What happened to those days?”

      TV ‘not authentic enough’
The report found that across the five main broadcasters, women accounted for 48% of the total workforce – compared with 51% across the general population – and held 39% of senior roles.

Ofcom also said those from a black, Asian or minority ethnic background made up 12% of workers, and disabled people just 3%, despite accounting for 14% and 18% of the general population respectively.

Among workers aged over 50, there are 50% more men than women, while Ofcom said many older people, especially women, think they are represented negatively on screen.

Ofcom’s research found that lots of people feel there are not enough programmes on TV that “authentically portray their lives and communities”.

Stop saying ‘chemical castration’ … you’ll upset the paedophiles

    https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2025/05/25/dont-say-chemical-castration-upset-paedophiles-staff-told/

Words have no meaning and can upset anyone ….

    …………………

It’s a beautiful thing, the destruction of words. Of course the great wastage is in the verbs and adjectives, but there are hundreds of nouns that can be got rid of as well. “It isn’t only the synonyms; there are also the antonyms. After all, what justification is there for a word which is simply the opposite of some other words? A word contains its opposite in itself. Take ‘good,’ for instance. If you have a word like ‘good,’ what need is there for a word like ‘bad’? ‘Ungood’ will do just as well–better, because it’s an exact opposite, which the other is not. Or again, if you want a stronger version of ‘good,’ what sense is there in having a whole string of vague useless words like ‘excellent’ and ‘splendid’ and all the rest of them? ‘Plusgood’ covers the meaning, or ‘doubleplusgood’ if you want something stronger still…In the end the whole notion of goodness and badness will be covered by only six words–in reality, only one word. Don’t you see the beauty of that, Winston?”
