The Marxists on Oxfordshire Council are putting 20 mph limits everywhere, including stretches of country lane A roads with no houses or road junctions.
I gather that Councils are obliged to recycle parking charges and fines and the like only into ‘road safety schemes’. The result is a massive overfunding so while the potholes go un repaired, the traffic Marxists with money to burn dream up more and more ways to penalise motorists- and it’s all self-financing and encouraged by governments both red and blue.
The greens and eco-fanatics of course love it.
No wonder there are 2 million speeding fines a year with almost no impact on actual road collisions.
Another way to get slower cars. I’ve noticed at single file roadworks an increasing use of signage that says ‘do not overtake cyclists’ . FFS. So we all drive at 8-10 mph with no chance to overtake. The public sector love it. The same pay for more time sitting in their vehicles doing no work. The productivity cost for tthe rest of us taxpayers is incalculable.

Just reading the pathetic, lop-sided anti-Trump rhetoric from the BBC about this and it is apparently all his fault. It seems nobody on the Left think it’s right to go after illegal immigrants.
Given that the BBC NEVER describe Muslim terrorists as terrorists, I wondered if they ever describe illegal immigrants as illegal.
And they don’t !!. They call them ‘undocumented’ and the strictness of how that is applied shows beyond doubt it is a directive from the political masters back on the third floor.
They use the word ‘illegal’ 3 times in that article and they are all quotes from this:

They like it so much, they say it 3 times.
Gavin didn’t have any evidence that it was illegal – but that’s OK at the BBC because it gets the lie they want us to believe across without needing to prove it. They know full well it is not illegal but they print it anyway.
I perhaps place too much weight on readers comments under articles in the Telegraph but I regard them as useful indicators of the public mood.
If these Telegraph readers , once highly patriotic and staunch supporters of British institutions such as monarchy, armed forces , the police and the Tory party , are now highly critical of these institutions , then I think it means something significant has changed.
The gulf between many of the articles which appear in the DT and what the readers comment on them is enormous.
This weekend Lord Robertson the ex Labour Minister of Defence under Blair and long time Secretary General of NATO , wrote a long piece about the country needing to ready for war and the need for conscription.
The readers told him that they no longer felt motivated by patriotism because of what the country had become under successive governments starting with Blair. If the woke liberal politicians wanted a war they could get their cherished immigrants to fight it for them, the British weren’t interested.
Similarly today there is an article about the police needing more funding. The readers comments are almost 100% negative about the police whom many regard as enemies of the British people and certainly on the wrong side of most arguments.
Any article trying to boost the Tories is met with a barrage of mentions of betrayal and of support for Reform.
If the Telegraphs readers, once so patriotic and supportive of the country and its institutions , are simmering then something is big is rumbling under our feet.
I take the most popular comments on DT articles as a good benchmark as to what most people actually think. And it’s surprising how often they are diammetrically opposite to what the author of the article wrote. The DT is a very mixed bag these days. They have been ultra-feminist and extreme anti-Trump for a long time now.
I also enjoy to read the comments by the few Leftist trolls who are on there. As always, they write like spiteful children and they stand out a country mile as being several orders of magnitude below the general intellect of the other comments.
I think I have the mentality of the more extreme Left figured out now and it’s reassuring to see my opinion is still accurate.

Because 5-Jun-25 was International Environment Day I decided to cut down a tree in my garden.

The girl assaulted, if I’ve got my facts right, is from a family well-known and well-respected within the local Loyalist/ Unionist community, from a hardened working-class area of a town that feels more and more colonised each year. Housing, healthcare and education have all been adversely affected by immigration, levels of petty crime and anti-social behaviour have risen. Diversity brings no benefit to the people of here.
Apparently there was a similar incident involving Roma teenagers and two local girls in October that seems to have been kept quiet. My daughter knows who all three of the girls are, one of them attends the same Grammar as she does. I think I know all of their families, the older members of the most recent victims family since primary school. They are all decent people. Deceny however should not be interpreted as weakness. I believe that many of our most recent arrivals don’t really understand this. They might get it now.
This has been brewing since the Roma first started to arrive in numbers around 5 years ago and I think that the more recent ‘newcomers’, black Africans and ‘refugees’ from the Middle East will be met with the same welcome soon. In the main they contribute nothing, they serve no purpose within our society, cheap temporary labour prior to benefit access and a subsequent life of loafing. We simply do not need or want them here.
On the other hand several hundred Filipinos have arrived in the past year and all seem to be employed and cause no problems at all, although ‘community representives’ have of course appeared from amongst them. Anyone who contributes positively to a local community can be welcome, it doesn’t matter the colour of their skin, this as we know is not simply a racial issue, it is in the main a cultural and behavioural problem.
The Roma do not integrate or assimilate, nor will those from the Middle East or sub-Saharan Africa who fail to contribute. Local people realise the blight they are, have tolerated it too long and have acted accordingly. Our so-called leaders are weak, we are not.

It seems to me that it is the Protestant/ Unionist areas that have been most affected by Roma immigration to Northern Ireland. The Catholic Poles who came in numbers about 15 years ago have assimilated better, but not fully, and find housing in areas close to Catholic schools and chapels. It’s the Prods who are left with the Roma.
Northern Irish Nationalists have not yet suffered the same issues or consequences as their Southern counterparts, who they are very different to anyway, but they will. I wondered what BBC verify would do for this video and exactly as expected it’s non-stop nit-picking of the smallest details they can come up with to try and infer Israel are lying.
At one point they show a satellite view of the tunnel entrance next to the hospital and show the points where their Muslim informants told them Israels bombs landed. There are several right in that area. But instead of zooming in and showing Israel were aiming at the tunnel entrance, they quickly remove the whole picture without focussing on the clear evidence Israel were aiming at Hamas.
Then they switch back to the empathy trick of telling us how many poor women and children got killed without any reference to the bombs landing near the tunnel. The KEY point is that Hamas were there and so were the civilians. And these BBC lying scumbags don’t even mention it.
Next it’s one long attempt to cast doubt on the videos with things like ‘It has multiple edits so we can’t confirm if the room is indeed under the hospital’.
