“Not getting a summer job? Here are eight ways to change that”
    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/crl0j9jkez1o

Basically: Grace Pickett, 18, has been applying for part-time jobs for two years now – with no luck.

The reason trotted out in the article:
Employers say they “cannot hire her due to a lack of prior work experience..”

Poor girl fell for the trap of making charity bosses richer-

“Grace volunteered at a charity shop for six months”
But employers don’t think this is enough. ..

Supposed to be 700,000 job vacancies that can’t be filled, and so we need more immigrants ..

    Oh and the eight tips.
    Number 1 is
“Show off your volunteering or teamwork experience”

I looked into the eyes of a man who blew himself up on the Tube. I still see him everywhere
    https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cedgvg3elx2o

So it’s the anniversary of the major terrorist attack in London by the Muslims. But surprise surprise, the word terrorist is not used once. Nor is ‘Muslim’.

The BBC have done their usual trick here : instead of focussing on the terrorists, their motives, how and why they did what they did with respect to their motivating force : Islam, they make the entire article about a victim. The actions of the terrorists is just a few clinical sentences saying what they did. The rest is all empathy for a victim. It is intended to make us feel sorry for him instead of being angry at the terrorists.

They never do this for the far-Right ‘terrorist’ schoolboys : we get full analysis of what they did, where they went on the internet, who they admired, any posts they made on social media which could be used to infer they were racists/bigots/far-right and pictures of anything which would help to make us associate anyone on the right to be like them.

Whole story sounds dubious to me, as regards his exact memories, but then I’ve never been blown up in a train….
Perhaps he’d have mentally healed better if he’d got angry about it himself, instead of eating himself gigantic.

“The first person to respond was fellow passenger Adrian Heili, who had served as a combat medic during the Kosovo war. If it had been anyone else, Dan believes he would have died.”

I seem to remember that was the war where NATO bombed Serbia for weeks on end, from the sky, without putting one foot on the ground.
Medic must have gained invaluable experience looking after our injured 🤔

Google AI “Yes, NATO did carry out a bombing campaign against Serbia for 78 days, from March 24 to June 10, 1999. This operation, known as Operation Allied Force, was focused on the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (which included Serbia and Montenegro). The primary objective was to halt the Serbian offensive in Kosovo and force the withdrawal of Yugoslav forces, allowing for the deployment of international peacekeepers. ”

The bombing campaign involved over 38,000 sorties, with more than 10,000 being strike sorties. NATO aircraft targeted Yugoslav military installations, infrastructure, and other sites deemed to be supporting the Serbian military operations in Kosovo. While NATO aimed to minimize civilian casualties, there were instances of civilian deaths and damage to civilian infrastructure during the campaign.

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cd6g55w5l5zo

“Stone stacks are a common sight along hiking trails up and down the UK.
But one walker is on a mission to highlight the damage they can do to the environment – by kicking them over.”

“I’m very passionate about the area, it’s an area people live and work in, and to see it being trashed, you know, it does rile you a bit.”

Here’s the landscape he feels passionate about protecting

I’m no botanist but that doesn’t look natural.
Best guess was covered in forest, all got chopped down.
Rocks moved to create boundary walls.
    Sheep moved in.
Overgrazed for generations, soil gradual washes away..

    Place needs rewilding if anything.

Finally land owner cares so much about disused stone walls that he ignores Stuart…

“Stuart said he had tried to make contact with the owner of the land on which the stacks are located, and had offered to help rebuild the wall.”

Maybe we should bring back Islamic stoning for those who stack stones – remember we are all reverts – Muslims by birth waiting to join Islam.

Or maybe he could gently place the stones back on the floor and ask people to stop?

Chaos as Ed Miliband to pay UK solar farms forced to switch off – too sunny.

    ——————————–

Solar operators can claim compensation when they’re forced to switch off by grid manager NESO, which is overseen by the Energy Secretary.

Solar farms in the UK have been paid to switch off so a surge of sun doesn’t overwhelm the grid, research shows. Overseen by Energy Secreatary Ed Miliband, the National Energy System Operator (NESO) has issued switch-off orders since February.

Solar operators can claim compensation when forced to switch off by NESO, which manages Britain’s power grids. NESO has said such action is required to maintain UK power grids remain stable.

The cost of so-called “constraint payments” is added to householders and businesses’ energy bills. Such payments apply to wind farms as well.

While a significant and increasing proportion of births in England are to mothers born outside the UK, the figure is not at 50%. In 2023, 31.8% of live births in England and Wales were to non-UK born mothers. This figure represents an increase from 30.3% in 2022. While this percentage is substantial, it falls short of the 50% mark. ”

So basically, Palestine has descended into lawlessness, with organised factions of terrorists and gangs going around murdering each other and stealing any free aid that comes their way.
      No change there then.

Plenty of Palestine supporters waving flags around in the UK .Maybe our government could organise a load of free flights so they can all go help the people of Gaza get rid of Hamas who’s dragging Palestine into the dark ages. Probably best not take those pride flags back back with them though.
