I am lurking so I will go first.

Marky Mark on the previous Thread posted salaries of the highest paid BBC presenters, excluding Claudia Winkleman for some reason. The BBC are over manned. An example from the continuing row over BBC’s Gaza Documentary and Master Chef. On Toady this a.m. Katie Razell, well known glottal stop perpetuator, was commenting on the row. Then Noor Ananji was doing the follow up. Why two when one would do?

If you are foolish enough to pay the TellyTax you are paying for Emma Barnett’s endless holiday and the Montacutie’s long weekends. Defund the BBC. You know it makes sense. We cannot trust the BBC any longer to be responsible with salaries or staffing levels or with propaganda for Hamas.

Well done Up2. Drinks are on you, Sir! 🍻

On a different note…. Seems very cold for a July evening here in the depths of the Midlands. Not exactly the kind of weather predicted by the one sided propaganda machine that is the BBC. But then we all know that and can see that them and the rest of the MSM’s days are pretty much numbered. The “youf” certainly aren’t buying into the narrative and the future news readers will not be choosing to watch what they already see as biased.

Rant over. Mines a pint of Stella Up2. Cheers!

The BBC were banging the CC drum thing on Farming Today again this morning.

I have left it a while before posting my thoughts on what happened at Glastonbury. Pascal whatever he chose to call himself was perhaps no idiot. He must have known what he was doing was going to give him great publcity (or so he thought, I guess withdrawing his ability to visit the United States for his tour and losing his manager hadn’t been computed into his actions).

There are mumblings in the background that some at the BBC knew exactly what he was going to do or likely to do. There is no explanation yet why Pascal hasn’t been arrested and I would argue that those at the BBC allowing him to do so, should equally be arrested.

In a country of free speech, of course, neither Pascal or the BBC employees should be arrested. But in a country where Lucy Connolly was jailed for so long, we are not in a country of free speech.

What I found deeply disturbing was how quickly the Glasto audience took up the chant. Do I really believe at this moment in time, it would induce anyone in the crowd to kill an Israeli soldier (and bearing in mind most Israelis serve in the IDF, it means any Israeli? No, I don’t believe such a cold blooded murder is likely at the moment.

The real question is whether the UK 2025 is Germany 1933. How quickly the population of Germany in the 1930s, the population who loved Goethe and Beethoven, deepened their hate of Jews until mass murder was the only option.

What we saw with those middle class twerps shouting what they did, was how easily they could be manipulated. A very scary time, not just for Jews, but every decent person.

I might add that some at the BBC see their role to deepen the middle class far left hate of Jews. It isn’t just Jeremy Bowen and his ilk with their twisted reporting. I was listening to an ex-BBC producer or something on GBNews – this poor reporting is all the Israelis’ fault, apparently, because they will not allow BBC reporters into Gaza. It is a common cry. I suspect that the reporters are pleased not to go into a war zone but feel they can impress the BBC audience with their bravery when they are safely holed up in posh hotels in Jerusalem. If the BBC reporters actually did go into Gaza I suspect they wouldn’t like what they saw (as all the well fed children isn’t part of their agenda) and besides which their Hamas minders would ensure they got a twisted view of the situation there.

I really fear we are turning into that 1930s Germany.

Deborah – tricky drawing parallels – but there are ‘commonalities ‘ – I think the obvious one is the approved message which infiltrated all institutions – with the BBC leading the way – ….
So the pro Islam anti Israel is powerful now – and Britain – britainistan – is at a demographic tipping point with a rapidly dominating Islamic gang infiltrating all institutions just like the Far Left has done since post Thatcher ,…

I can’t see anything – or one – to push back . Can anyone ? A lot of British people are really cheesed off – and I wonder whether an event / series of events will trigger anger not seen in recent times –
A lot of people are predicting some sort of civil war as toleration is all used up – whatever 77 brigade and the psycho – war ‘community ‘ try to deal with … but im not so sure .
Within maybe 10 years Islam will dominate Britainistan – I think it’s too late to stop it …

Yes Fedup, I guess the UK is already lost. And yes, Mr D and I have had conversations about where to go. Yes, I fear that Islam will very soon dominate the UK. But what I saw at Glastonbury was how easy it will be to take the far left middle class with them.

I also think it far too late to stop but the individual good news is that, I’m on the last lap so won’t be around to experience it.

The military, whatever is too small to mount a coup even if the numbers were brought back from Estonia where they, apparently, are facing up to a large Russian force just over the border. For all the military pundits (ex services & armchair), if Ukraine falls then Putin moves on to the Baltic States. How? I ask. Is the forces of demography effecting every other country but not Russia? Where would the manpower come from? It appears that the Russian army is taking on all comers in their seventies because recruits are drying up or have fled the homeland. I must confess to chuckling when the retired military windbags repeatedly make the claim. Apparently lacking the ‘nous’ to understand reality.

Only the public en masse will stop the islamic takeover. If that happens the UK will look as the Balkans did in the nineties or Northern Ireland in the seventies.

Have readers spotted the latest utter ineptitude in the field of unfettered mass immigration?

In 2022 a civil servant leaked the names of 19000 Afghans who had helped the British Army. Many of them were thus put into jeopardy given the new Taliban government.

As a result around 1500 of them plus their families, say around 6000 all up, have been secretly brought in to the UK at a cost of £850 million.

Hang on. Do the Maths. That’s £140,000 EACH.
Has the civil servant in question been sacked?
    Or have they been promoted?

You really can’t make up this level of staggering taxpayer-funded total incompetence.

What always annoys me about the Left when reporting about these people and ‘Windrush’ and all the others like it is that those people didn’t do it out of any sense of loyalty or desire to help us: 99% of them did it for the money and/or to get out of the shithole their own society created. They didn’t give a shit about us or our way of life.

It’s just more gross Left-wing hypocrisy and their desire to create ‘victims of the white man’ to use for virtue signalling.

A 114 year old man, the oldest marathon runner, has died. It is all over the BBC (and other) cnews. He was ‘from Ilford’.

Hang on. It is reported that after a lifetime of farming in India he came over to live in London.
    He doesn’t speak English.
He died ‘back home’ in the Punjab.

I hugely admire his zest for life. But…….what the hell was he doing living in London? No doubt he enjoyed the free benefits of our International Health Service, especially at his age.

Two men have been sentenced to prison terms for felling the Sycamore Gap tree on Hadrian’s Wall.

Do you remember the days when people were sentenced directly after the jury verdict? It was the norm.

Now the norm is to bring everyone back to court days or even weeks later. More court time. More payouts for lawyers and the judiciary.

And yet the waiting time for jury trials is now so long post covid that our dear government is looking to abolish them.

There would seem to be a much simpler solution. But I suppose non jury trials for using hurty words and advocating centre- right policies on things like immigration and the uselessness of the NHS gives the left wing woke government the opportunity to indoctrinate and control through fear.

It was a tree and apparently an iconic one. In spite of living for part of my life in the north east, I had never heard of this tree until it was chopped down. Whilst I don’t like the idea of cutting down trees unnecessarily, I do think 4 years is a bit steep. I wonder if those hoodlums who broke a police officers’ nose are found guilty, and if so how long they will serve. It was a tree, for goodness sake.

A main element of the novel is Rugby School, with its traditions, and the reforms that were instituted there by Dr Arnold, the headmaster. He is portrayed as the perfect teacher and counsellor. – Thank you Wiki

‘Super-gag’ slapped on media… Cost initially put at £7bn… Far-right backlash feared (FT) – and there it is!

Far-right backlash…? Presumably the FT imagines millions of liberal-minded centrist hard-working taxpayers will regard this story of official ineptitude, wastefulness and efforts at cover-up… as just hunky-dory?

Taliban used leak as a ‘kill list’ to hunt down collaborators (Telegraph) – Really? The same tribal medievalist islamic technophobe gang who hung TV sets from lamposts?

Yep, apparently – so we’re told – these AK47-armed vanguard of the mullahs spend all day on Facebook – like some British schoolgirl (one who isn’t being punished for wearing a Union flag): In a 2024 High Court judgement made public on Tuesday, Mr Justice Chamberlain said it was “quite possible” that some of those who saw parts of the leaked document in a Facebook group “were Taliban infiltrators or spoke about it to Taliban-aligned individuals”. (BBC)

So tell us m’lud, now these 1,000s of Afghan friends of ours are ‘safe’ over here in Blighty how many “quite possibly” Taliban-aligned individuals clutching a ‘kill list’ are we inviting in each day fresh off the Channel dinghies?

Of course our media all now reckon they fought for the truth to come out.

Times: How the Times fought to expose the scandal

Kill List is a 2011 British psychological horror crime film directed by Ben Wheatley, co-written and co-edited with Amy Jump, and starring Neil Maskell, MyAnna Buring and Michael Smiley. The 26 funniest new books by women this summer (Junior poundshop Guardian that is the i paper)

I wonder if this classic of the genre qualifies?

“The Women Who Made Modern Economics” by Rachel Reeves

Can we get some blurb with that?

‘Changes the narrative of economic history and provides a powerful call for action’ Mark Carney

‘If you want to follow the money, start here’ Jeanette Winterson

‘[A] thrilling, human account of how these brilliant pioneering women have changed our world for the better’ Tina Brown

The Women Who Made Modern Economics rediscovers the stories of those whose contributions to economics have been overlooked for too long and argues for a fairer society.

Rachel Reeves’s passionate, powerful and inspiring new book tells the untold stories of some of the women whose work, dreams and ideas have shaped modern economics and the way we think about the economy. Drawing on her own experiences and linking them to the women who have gone before, Rachel Reeves explores the ideas of economic theorists such as Harriet Martineau, Mary Paley Marshall and Joan Robinson. She also describes and analyses the contributions of today’s policy makers like Janet Yellen, Gita Gopinath and Christine Lagarde, offering insight into how their work has influenced her.

As the potential next Chancellor of the Exchequer, and the first female Chancellor after 800 years, Reeves outlines her vision for the future of the economy: a future in which economic security is restored, family finances are boosted, and the economy grows to make every part of Britain better off.

Most importantly this book is dedicated to the women who have gone before and to those who will change our future.

Where are the flights leaving from? Pakistan is returning some 2 million refugees to Afghanistan. Is this a ruse to take a quantity of this cohort?

How likely is it that this is or will happen elsewhere? Gaza, Syria etc. Usually once a single example of egregious deceit has been uncovered, you can be sure there are many others.

The narrative appears to be that anyone who spoke with our soldiers are broadly pro-British or Western. There is little to no evidence of this. It is a tribal country with centuries old affiliations, and myriad warring factions. Being anti-Taliban in no way “translates” into a rejection of similar values.

Repeating the same news over and over again isn’t “more news”, it’s a device to limit the news to shallow reporting of a given topic without inquiry. Claims without evidence are just claims, we deserve much better.

About 25,000 children sexually abused, report shows
    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c3vdyxpe00do

An estimated 25,000 children and young people are being sexually abused each year in Wales, with online abuse growing fast.

Welsh ministers also said they will be “fully engaging” with the England and Wales inquiry into the sexual exploitation and abuse of children by grooming gangs.

    …………………………..

6 July 2025 “Chris Wild said grooming and criminal exploitation are rife in the capital, and it is being missed due to poor data-sharing and underfunded services.”
    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cq8zew2egjvo
“It wasn’t just any children’s home, it was a children’s home run by paedophiles,” he said.

26 August 2014 “Prof Jay said the first of these reports was “effectively suppressed” because senior officers did not believe the data. The other two were ignored, she said.”
Some were doused in petrol and threatened with being set alight, while others were threatened with guns, made to watch “brutally violent rapes” and warned they would be next if they told anyone.

“Five local inquiries, which cannot compel the production of evidence, just will not do. Fifty towns were affected, not five. Bradford, where some of the worst abuse occurred, is refusing to co-operate with any inquiry at all. There has never been an inquiry in Bradford, because the council is refusing to participate.

LOL….not as if the Taliban didn’t know who was in the army and police in Afghanistan….even before they took over…and when they did take over they had all the Afghan government records….not to mention the security forces surrendered to the Taliban and thus would also be processed by the Taliban.

If we ‘owe an obligation’ to anyone who was in the security services then that would be over 300,000 along with their families…potentially millions of people.[one applicant had 14 family members coming here]….and bear in mind 300,000 is a snap shot…over 20 years there would be possibly millions joining and leaving the forces.

They were not helping us…we were helping them.

Curious how the BBC refuses to mention the £7 billion cost of this…a government estimate…the BBC says max of £850m…Webb mentioned £6 bn but he was quoting someone else and he immediately dismissed the figure.

The BBC prefers to use this…

‘The scheme is understood to have cost around £400m, with a projected final cost of about £850m.’

    From the Telegraph and elsewhere…

‘At the time, sources suggested, the MoD’s estimate of the total cost of bringing Afghans to Britain was in the region of £4 billion. It would rise to £7 billion, before being revised down to £6 billion, an extraordinary sum all the same.’

Could it be that it is because Labour signed off on the £7bn cost that the BBC is reluctant to mention it….from the Mail….

‘The overall projected cost of £7billion was signed off by Chancellor Rachel Reeves and other senior Cabinet ministers at a Whitehall meeting on October 7 last year, according to official papers shown to the High Court. The sum dwarfs both the recent benefits row and winter fuel U-turn.’

The BBC stated that the Tory government took out the superinjunction…but Ben Wallace said he had to correct that…they applied for an injunction and it was a judge who took the decision to turn it into a superinjunction.
Now…is that true? The BBC decided to ignore that and then reported twice after Wallace said it on Today that ‘Ben Wallace decided on a superinjunction’…when he had specifically said he hadn’t.
Somebody must have complained and we got a correction…or not…it was a very disengenuous ‘correction’ saying that ‘Ben Wallace doesn’t know how or when the superinjunction was imposed’….erm…he said, twice, on Today that it was imposed in September by a judge.

Wallace was not even defence minister by the time the superinjunction was imposed….

‘On Aug 25 2023, in one of his last acts as defence secretary, Mr Wallace applied to the High Court for an injunction to prevent the leak becoming public.

A week later, on Sept 1 – by which time Grant Shapps had been installed as his successor – the High Court granted a super-injunction ‘

So at least two not entirely truthful claims by the BBC.

Interesting to hear a lawyer for the Afghans come on and state that the furore about the ending of the superinjunction would make things worse as the media turn it into a massive story.
Of course the idea behind the injunction was to prevent the media making the Taliban aware of the information and, by turning it into a huge scandal give the Taliban leverage here as they use it to their political and propaganda advantage.
The media is the real problem…they also being behind so much of the pressure to bring Afghans to this country.

Must have been a very torturous editorial meeting about this story….the matrix very convoluted and twisted…got to present it as a positive story about rescuing Afghans we ‘owe a debt’ to, hide the true cost of it and downplay the numbers of asylum seekers whilst condemning the Tory government for its actions in rescuing those Afghans and keeping it hidden from the public.

1985 … Ahmadis suffer vicious persecution around the world. The main source of fuel for that persecution is in Pakistan, but what happens in Pakistan does not stay in Pakistan.

I know that from my experience in the Yorkshire market town of Batley. In August 1985, when I was 11 years old, my parents organised an inter-faith meeting in the town hall. It was interrupted and disturbed when, according to West Yorkshire police,

more than 1,000 extremists, led by Pakistani hate preachers funded by the Pakistani state, were bused in from around the country.

The mob brutally attacked my English mother and my father, a dermatologist; my eldest brother and I; and a Welsh Ahmadi schoolteacher who was with us. My first cousin, a GP, was by chance driving through the market town that day. He saw the mob and saw his family and friends being attacked, so he stopped. He was recognised, pulled from his vehicle and savagely beaten up.

Just a quick reminder. That on 19th July the UK gov is willing to sign the WHO pandemic treaty. Its not likely to be broadcast on the BBC and it rarely gets reported in the papers or on radio/TV.
Its not just about COVID or even the media blanket denial that we have an veto. The US under TRUMP has already pulled out…

Search for ‘WHO pandemic treaty’ and you will see why we should all be alarmed…

    BBC version:
    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c7vn1r3ge2jo

    Why we should be alarmed:
the WHO has rewritten the International Health Regulations to include sweeping new powers that:

    (1) Make it easier to enforce lockdowns and travel restrictions around the world as part of a top-down global response, with no regard for individual rights or national sovereignty

    (2) Establish an international expectation that member states will impose vaccine mandates during any future WHO-declared “pandemic emergency,” all in the name of global solidarity and fulfilling international obligations

    (3) Will censor free speech and lawful viewpoints, especially from those who question official narratives or raise legitimate concerns about government measures

    (4) Expand international powers to collect and share personal health data, potentially paving the way for digital IDs and global tracking systems in the name of “preparedness”

    (5) Blur the line between international advice and domestic law, prompting governments to adopt WHO policies, even when they go against local interests or public opposition

All this kicks off starting on 19th July. There is No parliamentary vote it gets decided by Starmer and his cabinet on that date. >> There will be no public announcement!. <<

I just signed a petition (there may be others). I hope so…
