Entertainment was provided by a range of Indian classical or Bollywood music. It was introduced in the Radio Times by producer David Gretton, who heralded “a new field of public service broadcasting”.”

The programmes were made in Birmingham, where a large part of the audience was based.

      ……………………..

1985 …. more than 1,000 extremists, led by Pakistani hate preachers funded by the Pakistani state, were bused in from around the country.

The mob brutally attacked my English mother and my father, a dermatologist; my eldest brother and I; and a Welsh Ahmadi schoolteacher who was with us. My first cousin, a GP, was by chance driving through the market town that day. He saw the mob and saw his family and friends being attacked, so he stopped. He was recognised, pulled from his vehicle and savagely beaten up.

The Bot Network Collapse That Exposed Iran’s Influence Operation

26% of profiles discussing Scottish independence were fake, posting more than 3,000 posts in just six weeks.
These fake accounts blended in by promoting pro-Scottish and anti-Brexit narratives.
The bot network went dark immediately after the military strike on Iran on June 13, confirming their suspected origin.
When the bots returned 16 days later, the messaging had changed: now it was promoting pro-Iran narratives and attacking the West
Overall, fake profiles’ content gained a massive 224 million potential views and 126,000+ engagements

One has long suspected there was method in the BBC’s shuffling of the deck of the morning newspaper frontpages.

Were the arrangement honestly random then the jokey blokey tabloid Star would not so regularly sit rock bottom in the ‘And Finally’ spot.

Of course top of the pile in the BBC online news page is a sensitive, measurable, matter. One senses the BBC regulates the statistics – awards right-leaning titles an occasional crack of the whip, so to speak – by promoting their covers to page top spot, as and when their headlines ain’t too jarring in regard to the BBC agenda and narratives.

This morning we witness an exemplar in BBC manipulation – stacking of the card deck.

The ever-excitable, perceived as right-leaning, Daily Mail gets its day in the sun, so to speak, topping the BBC’s press pile whilst delivering the acceptable duel headers: ‘Brooklyn goes nuclear’ and UK teenagers ‘face social media ban’ (BBC’s double whammy headline clipping summary)

The Mail says something about a U-turn on the latter issue but Starmer’s back benchers are loving it (and likely his advisors) have conceived the notion that (shush) everyone will now require a Digital ID to prove they are 16+

Consigned to the wilderness wooden spoon last place in the BBC press line-up (the boys and girls probabaly think of it as a Nobel Peace Prize rejection) is the right-ish Daily Express

The headline story thereabouts is: ‘We will never be silenced for telling truth’… Defiant nurses stand united as NHS faces backlash for ignoring biological sex ruling (Express) – and our BBC don’t wanna know about that, do they?

Hard up peckish NHS nurses snacking out of kitchen waste bins – accoring to the Daily Mirror – yes, that would be a whole different matter.

Get ready, the noun ‘Tyrant’ is about to become common in parlance shortly. Let’s just remind ourselves of a clear definition:

    “Tyrant
A tyrant, in the modern English usage of the word, is an absolute ruler who is unrestrained by law, or one who has usurped a legitimate ruler’s sovereignty. Often portrayed as cruel, tyrants may defend their positions by resorting to repressive means. The original Greek term meant an absolute sovereign who came to power without constitutional right, yet the word had a neutral connotation during the Archaic and early Classical periods. However, Greek philosopher Plato saw tyrannos as a negative form of government, and on account of the decisive influence of philosophy on politics, deemed tyranny the “fourth and worst disorder of a state.” The philosophers Plato and Aristotle defined a tyrant as a person who rules without law, using extreme and cruel methods against both his own people and others

And don’t forget Boris’ generous offer inviting 3 million Chinese here…supposedly from Hong Kong…but who is to say who they are? Hundreds of thousands actually came to almost no media coverage…but you can guarantee thousands of them actually work for the Chinese government and are steadily working their way up our own institutions and businesses gaining knowledge and influence.

Tesla lost it’s ‘crown jewels’ to a Chinese employee and Google came a cropper as well…

‘Though he lived in Silicon Valley, Linwei Ding spent months at a time in his native China, according to court papers.

Nothing unusual about that — except that he was supposed to be working full time as a software engineer in Google’s San Francisco-area offices.

His case illustrates what American officials say is an ongoing nightmare for U.S. economic and national security: Some of America’s most prominent tech firms have had their virtual pockets picked by Chinese corporate spies and intelligence agencies.’

As Starmer heads off to China himself Carney is cosying up to China…

‘Prime Minister Mark Carney has spent the past two days on a diplomatic mission in Beijing, marked by several high-level meetings, including a sit-down with President Xi Jinping.

Ottawa has described the visit as “historic,” as Canada looks to redefine its political and economic ties with the world’s second-largest economy after years of strained relations.

Carney stressed the need to accelerate partnerships in sectors such as energy, agricultural trade, security, and innovation.’

Yep…that’s what they need…closer partnerships in energy and security.

Listening to Times Radio the other day and classic media lefty lovey Hugo Rifkind presided over a discussion about the dreadful and shocking news that the Plebs on Youtube had overtaken the BBC.
They clearly had no idea what was on Youtube as they sniffily dismissed it as short-attention span junk about dogs or speed eating etc. There’s plenty of that on there but there is a whole spectrum of content from long form to the short snappy video….you have videos like this….extremely professional, sponsored by Rolls Royce no less…and yet made by a bloke who started making videos on his own 5 years ago…

You can see why the BBC hates ‘social media’…not only a source of news and opinion outside its control but a rival to its own programme production…and made without the huge resources that the BBC insists it needs to make programmes.

The danger is that the BBC will try and curtail this…it already of course makes a lot of noise about trying to rein in social media…but it has a sneaky plan…possibly…if it can’t beat social media it will join it…and fight from the inside as the BBC starts to put its programmes on Youtube.
All well and good until, as people have, you think about it and ask if this is a prescursor to the BBC trying to force people to pay the licence fee to watch Youtube and no doubt increase Ofcom oversight and regulation.

Never trust em….how long before they try and take off air content like this?…..

      1. Are there any former BBC employees involved within Ofcom’s Standards Team?
Yes. The BBC is a major employer in the media space and it is common for people working in the
sector to have spent time working at the broadcaster. Sometimes these are short term contracts and
freelance projects and this may be the case for many of these employees.
      2. If the answer is yes can I please have the total number of former BBC Employees working within
      this area for Ofcom.
      3. Again if there are former BBC Employees working within the Ofcom Standards Team what
percentage are they of the total number of staff working in this department.
In answer to questions 2 and 3, Ofcom does not routinely hold former employment details of

10% into it and not bad at all …. there’s quite a lot about it that plays against the “popular narrative” I grew up with. I got suspicious decades ago after chatting with quite a few vets and then when I learned about the RAF and Dowding and particularly Park . A stint in Russia when the archives were opened in the naughties was also an eye opener… 300 pages + 130 pages of references – a pro job and quite readable.

I see Trump has ripped into the UK for their “stupid” Chagos deal.

When you think about what Starmer’s bunch have done equates to giving your house away to your neighbour then asking them if you can rent it back.

You don’t have to be genius to see the batshit craziness of this “deal”.

    Not such big buddies now!

How will Starmer respond to this? He doesn’t have an argument.

A company that hatched a PPE deal in the pub where David Cameron treated the Chinese premier Xi Jinping to a pint has been dissolved, Good Law Project can reveal, making it vanishingly unlikely the £40m wasted on useless coveralls will ever be recovered.

The Plough at Cadsden is a village pub which formed the backdrop to a key scene from the “golden era” of relations between Britain and China, when Cameron and Xi enjoyed fish and chips and ale in 2015.

The pub was bought by the Chinese infrastructure investment company Sinofortone a year later, with the managing director, Yu “Peter” Zhang, taking over as landlord. As the first wave of the pandemic hit in 2020, Xinyu Tang – thought to be Zhang’s girlfriend – started making use of contacts in China to source PPE.

Zhang became a director of Medicine Box on 23 April 2020, with the £40m deal signed two days later and funds passed on to The Plough to source the coveralls.

Every single one was deemed unsuitable for use in an NHS setting, but Medicine Box was unrepentant, telling The Citizens that The Plough “fulfilled the order by providing quality products on time”. A lawyer speaking on behalf of Medicine Box told Good Law Project that Peter Zhang became a director “specifically because” of his “contacts”.”

I don’t understand this…. “Lucy Letby will face no criminal charges over deaths and non-fatal collapses of babies, the Crown Prosecution Service has said.

The former nurse is serving 15 whole-life terms after being convicted of murdering seven babies and attempting to murder seven others, with two attempts on one of her victims, between June 2015 and June 2016.

The CPS said the decision followed a 2025 investigation into allegations of murder and attempted murder against nine children at the hospitals where she worked.”

    Not mentioned by our BBC-

But mentioned by Guido Fawkes today:

In February last year – just before Trump’s White House meeting with Starmer – the then-Foreign Secretary David Lammy said the Chagos deal would not go ahead if Trump didn’t like it. Good to know…

Robert Peston asked: “Does President Trump have a veto?”

Lammy: “If President Trump doesn’t like the deal, the deal will not go forward. And the reason for that is because we have a shared military and intelligence interest with the United States. And of course, they’ve got to be happy with the deal or there is no deal.”

As Starmer is cancelling local elections everywhere – usually in the places where he knows that he’ll get absolutely clobbered, does that mean that as poll tax payers, we don’t have to pay these councils any more, because we’ve been denied our true representation? After all, it’s bad enough seeing how much money they’re wasting on ridiculous DEI crap, etc., and we really do need to shut these loonies up as soon as possible!

The bills are coming out later and later these days – we used to get told what we’d be paying in January, but no luck so far…
