£25.3 and it won’t go into London Center!

To the end of April 2025, £40.5 billion (nominal prices) had been spent on the HS2 programme. This is provided in more detail in the financial annex, based on data provided by HS2 Ltd.

Following the recent conclusion of the Spending Review, the department has reached a settlement with HM Treasury to fund the delivery of HS2, with £25.3 billion (nominal prices) covering financial years 2026 to 2027 to 2029 to 2030.

Everyone knew from the start this was a massive waste of time and money that was going to cost far far more than they were claiming….what exactly was the cost/benefit of it? None other than giving some stupid politician a grand headline with no accountability….knowing they’d probably be out of office long before the bills started coming in and the truth came out.

Shame the BBC tried silencing the critics and kept pushing the government line that this was a fantastic, cost effective scheme that would cost very little….much like the climate change scam.

And curious how the BBC is very concerned about certain peoples being removed from their lands [Chagos for example] but shows little concern for all the people whose lives and livelihoods are being destroyed by HS2 being built on their land….or what was their land.

Why do the BBC always say in reports when referring to Tommy Robinson, ‘whose real name is Stephen-Yaxley-Lennon’.

Deadnaming is a way of expressing DISRESPECT to someone
..so the BBC is showing a POLITICAL stance when it does it.
quote: “Deadnaming—intentionally using a person’s former name against their consent
—is a form of harassment, bullying
It denies a person’s identity and is considered a form of psychological aggression.
      Such behavior is considered discriminatory
Many organizations, including the Bank of England and University College London, explicitly define it as unacceptable bullying and harassment

TR calling himself TR, does no harm to anyone. He is not pretending to be anyone he isn’t , but rather he is trying to protect his family and children from violent activists.

Kinnel – it strange … the footage of a ‘journalist student ‘ being given a lesson outside the court on Friday was painful – the kid had been sent to ‘interview TR’ who turned it around and asked what he knew about the invader murder trial – which was nothing – and then spelt it out to him bigly …. The Farage left is as thick here as in thd US ..

Viraj Mendis was a Sri Lankan student in Britain who left his course and decided to stay with no visa…an illegal migrant. He claimed ‘sanctuary’ in a church in order to stop deportation back to Sri Lanka where he claimed he was in danger….he was eventually arrested in the church and sent packing back to Sri Lanka….and amazingly, surprise, wasn’t killed. Eventually he went to Germany where he was granted asylum.

He died in 2024 but the BBC have for some reason decided to give him a hagiographic eulogy in 2026 with a series on R4…

    ‘Sanctuary: An Act of Defiance’

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p0m50kcd

From the title you can see how the BBC views this.

Mendis had managed to stay in the UK illegally for years and spent his time helping other illegals evade deportation…the BBC found this very admirable…he was ‘undermining the government by helping other [illegal] migrants.’ All noted with a tone of pleasure…especially as it was Thatcher in government.

Why is the BBC promoting illegal migration and the ‘undermining’ of the British government? And why now? More than likely linked to not just ‘hotels’ here but Trump’s crackdown in the US…the BBC encouraging ‘resistance and rebellion’?

They love a bit of ‘resistance and rebellion’…this is how they described the Brixton riots of course and all subsequent Black violence. Funny thing is if you try to get into a BBC building without a pass…undocumented…not going to happen. Guess some ‘walls’ are good….some not so good.

In July last year, when a malicious complaint was made against our rape gang inquiry, the BBC immediately reported it with glee. Later that day, the complaint was dropped. The BBC was even forced to issue a formal correction about how they covered the ‘story’. The third I’ve had from the BBC in less than a year…

They were absolutely desperate to report a potentially damaging story about our efforts (which turned out to be absolutely nothing).

Yet when the hearings begin? Not a word on their site. Total silence.

They can’t claim it has no public interest, as they covered the negative story with such enthusiasm.

It truly is a disgraceful organisation that is dripping in stinking left wing bias.

We must defund the BBC, strip it of the licence fee, and let it crush itself under its own arrogance.

Transfer Deadline Day breaks records for dullness – complains the i paper
Just seven signings – the Premier League’s quiet deadline day – agrees the BBC

But surely… …thousands of pounds to Reinaldo Avila da Silva, according to documents published by US justice department (Guardian)

I jest of course. Aficionados of the beautiful game will discern Reinaldo Avila da Silva isn’t Wolverhampton Wanderer’s new leftback. He is of course: Mandelson’s husband (Guardian)

Well, I think we have now almost reached peak foreign imports, football-wise: Only 21.3% of PL starting players this weekend were English eligible… Just 47 of the 220. Shocking numbers really. (‘r/Three Lions’ on Reddit) – but we digress from the news…

Lord Mandelson reported to police for leaking No 10 files to Epstein… still can’t say for certain that he did not accept $75,000 in payments from Epstein (i paper)

    “Et tu, Brute?”

‘Shocked’ Gordon Brown demands No 10 inquiry (Times)
Prime Minister leads calls for disgraced peer to be kicked out of the Lords (Mirror)

Tony Blair is, apparently, unavailable for comment.

We’re told it was the leaked No 10 emails and the $75,000 bung – but I think the Mirror has a point when Paul Routledge notes: Mandy’s underpants pic was the last straw

Do you remember that vintage weekend tv show where the old Fleet Street chap used to review the headlines from overseas newspapers and comment in gravelly Cockney tones “Are they talking about us?”

Tony Blair and Peter Mandelson will go down in history as crawlers and creeps. If we want to understand why democracy is in such trouble, we can learn plenty from the careers of two men who were once stellar figures in democratic politics (Fintan O’Toole Irish Times)

To gain and hold power politicians must practice, in Edmund Burke’s phrase, an economy of truth. But absolute mendacity corrupts absolutely. If you want to know what that rot is like, look at Tony Blair and Peter Mandelson, men who once shone in the firmament of western democracy but who, long before they go to their graves, have become walking embodiments of political putrefaction. Blair and Mandelson were two parts of the triumvirate that created the triumphant New Labour project in the late 1990s.

One is tempted, with the fall from grace of a socialist, to quote from George Orwell: “The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.”

But let’s lighten the mood and go with Barry Manilow:

    Oh, Mandy
    Well, you came
    And you gave without taking
    But I sent you away
    Oh, Mandy
    Well, you kissed me
    And stopped me from shaking
    And I need you today
    Oh, Mandy

And as we approach full-time for England football-wise, meanwhile on the race track – it’s under starter’s orders: Black jockey rides into history books… Aamilah Aswat… parents of Indian and Jamaican heritage… in the Queen’s colours… first black professional female rider to win a race (Telegraph)

But we are told the so-called Overton Window has shifted in respect of the ‘Remigration’ debate…

Leave now, Zulu king tells migrants… South Africa’s Zulu king… commemorating the British defeat at the Battle of Isandlwana… insulted migrants from neighbouring countries and said they needed to leave (Telegraph)

The BBC must have felt sadly left out when it was Netflix, not our trusted national broadcaster, that aired Keir Starmer’s favourite documentary.

The story by William Golding, about young boys stranded on an island who descend into bloody chaos, left a “profound scar” on Thorne and, years later, he’s adapting it into a four-part BBC series… David McKenna stars as Piggy and Lox Pratt as Jack in the new adaptation of William Golding’s 1954 classic Lord of the Flies… Thorne has become known for penning complex portrayals of masculinity and violence, having won an Emmy and Golden Globe for his series Adolescence, with the series being made available to show in schools across the UK to help open discussions around toxic masculinity and online radicalisation. (Shola Lee, BBC News)

Did readers hereabouts have the novel as a set book in school? Seems as though we’re all being sent back to school…

Thorne adds that it is “crucial” to revisit and understand Golding’s story as we navigate uncertain times and try to “stop our own cruelty from emerging”.

USA have their own HS2 project.

“WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean P. Duffy today announced the Federal Railroad Administration terminated approximately $4 billion in unspent federal funding for California’s High Speed Rail Boondoggle. After 16 years and roughly $15 billion spent, not one high speed track has been laid by the California High-Speed Rail Authority (CHSRA). The $135 billion projected total cost of the project could buy every San Francisco and LA resident nearly 200 roundtrip flights between the cities.

“This is California’s fault. Governor Newsom and the complicit Democrats have enabled this waste for years. Federal dollars are not a blank check – they come with a promise to deliver results. After over a decade of failures, CHSRA’s mismanagement and incompetence has proven it cannot build its train to nowhere on time or on budget,” said U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean P. Duffy.”

As of March 2024, the UK government and HS2 Ltd had spent £30.1 billion (in 2019 prices) on the project, with the vast majority (£27.8 billion) dedicated to Phase 1. The total, now-shortened project (London to Birmingham) is projected to cost significantly more, with estimates suggesting over £80bn to over £100bn including inflation, and it faces completion delays until roughly 2040.

Why would anyone accuse the BBC of being Islamic ?- here’s Rupert Lowe on X –

In July last year, when a malicious complaint was made against our rape gang inquiry, the BBC immediately reported it with glee.
Later that day, the complaint was dropped. The BBC was even forced to issue a formal correction about how they covered the
‘story’.
