Something is rotten in the state of Denmark…or in this case both the media and politics of Britain…

Jim Ratcliffe’s remarks about the dire consequences of unbridled immigration into our once green and pleasant land has received widespread condemnation. They’re queuing up to have a pop at him.

Whereas, most sentient people are cheering him to the rafters, our gutless politicians are sneering and our venal and corrupt media is in a state of apoplexy. Their hypocrisy is quite breathtaking.

I think it’s quite telling that the same media that so vehemently condemns Jim is also totally ignoring the grooming gang inquiry. According to the BBC, Sky, ITN, Channel 4, The Mirror, Guardian, Sun, et-al, there’s nothing happening.

These people are despicable. The only thing politicians and journalists are good at is lying and deceiving.

As my old gramps used to say,
I wouldn’t trust any of them further than I can piss…

An assessment from @grok backed up what Basham was saying: “Yes, the lyrics in Bad Bunny’s ‘Safaera’ (performed at the 2026 Super Bowl halftime) include explicit references to sexual acts, drug use, and profanity, as claimed. English translations on sites like Genius confirm details like oral sex, a*s-eating, pills for arousal, and erection boasts. Many of his songs have mature themes, but they’re in Spanish.”

but they’re in Spanish – don’t Spanish kids hear this?

The overall takeaway was that Bad Bunny had delivered a fair amount of content from the stage that many conservatives and Christians might find objectionable — and all of it was conveniently buried behind the language barrier.

The UK’s unwritten constitution relies heavily on conventions and good faith, which can be tested by any government with a majority. Formal checks like judicial review, select committees, and opposition motions exist, but enforcement depends on political will. Media coverage on Romeo’s appointment (e.g., BBC, Guardian reports on due diligence concerns), China debates (Hansard shows grilled sessions on human rights), and Gibraltar talks (calls for clarity in Parliament) has been widespread across outlets, though selective focus happens. Reforms like a budget committee could strengthen scrutiny.

I have moved from worry and anger to outright concern and incandescent fury.

YouTube offered up a ‘free ‘ viewing of ‘Cromwell ‘ – which I’ve watched many times over the years – but seeing now – in the context of a corrupt king – TTK – it sounds very different – and very modern … which many comments mention ….

So TTK believed Mandelson and the now Lord Doyle.

Did he also believe Jimmy Saville, is that why he was not prosecuted?

    “Rupert Lowe MP
Reading how this Afghan illegal migrant approached the 12 year old whilst she was playing on the swings.

Playing on the swings. Think about that.
During the sex attack, she told the Afghan to stop.
The man apparently laughed, and carried on.
    “Extremely horrific sexual offences.”
    A 12 year old.
Politicians need to have the courage to finally say what we all know is true.
Men from these cultures where this evil is accepted should not be welcome in Britain.
We need to not only stop the flow, but also remove the barbarians already within the gates.
I could not give a single shit about whatever lies they tell to remain in Britain.
It doesn’t matter. If they hate our way of life so very much?
    Deport them all.

In Afghanistan women are not allowed to dance in public, but boys can be made to dance in women’s clothing – and they are often sexually abused.

It’s after midnight. I’m at a wedding party in a remote village in northern Afghanistan.

    IT’S SOMETIME AGO….A LOT HAS HAPPENED…..

Wild eyed Wes STREETING has in the past insisted that he and Peter Mandleson were not..not..close friends.( that was sometime in the past, 9th Feb if you think it really matters)

So that means , presumably that the text messages between Wes and Mandlson do not , nor could they ,indicate a close friendship.

Well, it’s a matter for others to decide…it’s entirely a personal view but I’m disinclined to trust either of them…….future P.M indeed!
