On BBC Londonistan, a big feature about recycling, which has not increased in over 10 years.
The worst London Borough for recycling is Tower Hamlets. Three residents are interviewed. They are all white!!!!!!
Which is rather odd, since 40% of the population are Muslim and only 51% of the population were born in England.
I particularly mention this because in my part of West Londonistan, some years ago the council actually reduced the items that could be recycled. The rationale was the large immigrant population did not necessarily understand the rules, so the idea was a simpler system would give rise to fewer loads which were rejected at the recycling centre because of non- suitable items, such as used nappies and bottles half full of liquid. I know this to be true because I rang the council and the above was their answer.
Ergo the ethnicity and thus ability to understand instructions was a key component of recycling effectiveness.
You might think this would be relevant to Tower Hamlets, whose council was elected on racist grounds. Here’s what Wikipedia says about it……

Here we have an absolutely horrifying story ‘normalised and presented as positive empathy’ by the BBC.
The truth of the matter is that this white girl was stabbed in the neck at a bus stop in a random act of murder. She had not done anything : it could have been anyone. The entire public is at risk of being murdered like this.
We are only informed at the end that his name is Djeison Rafael. The BBC do not tell us he is black and there is no picture to be found anywhere.
The real tragedy here is that this is not the first random murder I have commented on for this exact same reason.
The lesson is that if you are in a public place like a bus station or a train station, be VERY wary of any black or Muslim people you see. Stand where you can see them. Because they might suddenly stab you. What a different world we live in since we welcomed these people in.
And of course the racist element that these random murders are usually white people being murdered by BAME people is never mentioned. It all goes quickly under the carpet.

In my defence, the image is blurred on my iPad and I would also suggest mention of racism is rather more subdued and buried than the BBC version, where ‘Racism” remains as the first word in the banner headline.

How long does the BBC have left?
Around a year if US President Donald Trump has anything to do with it.
True to his word, the US President is taking the BBC to court – and a trial date has been set as Donald takes on the corporation in a defamation lawsuit.
The two week hearing, scheduled to start on 15 February is set to take place in Miami, Florida, and is due to be heard by judge Roy K Altman.
You may recall that the President is suing over a 2024 Panorama episode that edited together clips of him addressing supporters on the day of the 2021 attack on the Capitol in Washington DC. Donald Trump said it had given the impression he incited violence and encouraged people to storm the building.
The edited clip used ‘soundbites’ – from the president that were 50 minutes apart in reality – but were spliced together to say: “We’re going to walk down to the Capitol… and I’ll be there with you. And we fight. We fight like hell.”
Editing on behalf of the BBC removed the reference to peaceful protest and consequently the broadcasted item misrepresented the President’s words and suggested he was inciting violence. He was not.
The 6 January storming of the Capitol is now seen as a day of infamy in modern US history. A Senate report said it led to the loss of at least seven lives, including five police officers.
Typically, the BBC has tried to defend the indefensible and has so far failed. Director General Tim Davie and BBC News Chief Executive Deborah Turness have both resigned over the issue, but the BBC is adamant it will fight the lawsuit in court.
The stakes are high. The US President is suing for $10billion which could bankrupt the broadcaster. To put this into context, the BBC’s annual operating budget is around £3.8 billion. If they lose the lawsuit then the US President will have achieved would many have been campaigning for over the years – the end of the BBC.

I noticed another case of mission creep on the bbc the other day, but it also occurs in the wider world. Since we’re not allowed to mention or offend you-know-who, for the last few years Christmas has been referred to as “The festive season”, or the ghastly “Winterval”. What I noticed firstly on the bbc, and today on my visit to our local Tesco* is the complete absence of “Chinese new year”; it now seems to be “Lunar new year”. I gather they are not different names for the same day, although they are at most a few days apart. Drip, drip, drip; who decides this re-working, and who do they think it benefits?
