CASH FOR CLUNKERS

Obama’s “cash for clunkers” scheme has just finished and the BBC ran this item on it this morning, suggesting that it has been a hugely popular success. The meme is that the stimulus is working. In a four and a half minute item, the BBC kindly provided 30 seconds to the view that this has been far from economically effective and may cause more harm than good. The bias is … Continue reading

NO SHAME

It’s almost surreal. In the endless quest to undermine ANY benefits stemming from the Afghan election, the BBC sends the witless Hugh Sykes to woodland near Calais in northern France. He is there to interview the hundreds of Afghan “refugees” squatting there awaiting entry into welfare central – the UK. It’s just terrible for these poor refugees, apparently. No “facilities” and awful weather. But on the bright side the unanimous … Continue reading

OPEN THREAD

Sunday morning and a new open thread. Watching Nicky Campbell’s “Big Question” with a Muslim lecturer claiming that those who attend Christian courses convert to….Islam! Perhaps the BBC should become the Sharia Broadcasting Corporation such is the relentless advocacy of this dark ages pathology? Over to you, but as a lead question, do YOU feel that the BBC treats Islam different to how it creates Christianity/Judaism? If you agree, please … Continue reading

TOOTAL DEFEATISM

So, a former Army commander Col Stuart Tootal, writes an article in which he suggests that unless we show more political will and better support for our troops in Afghanistan we could “lose” the conflict in that land. Col Tootal also suggests that the campaign is “winnable”. Which headline does the BBC run with? Click through to read and contribute comments on this post.

The Taliban are pleased to announce…

Reading this article about changes in the Taliban leadership I was struck by the way the language tends to validate them as an organisation. We are told: Pakistan’s Taliban movement has named a new leader, its deputy head Maulvi Faqir Mohammed has told the BBC. He said Hakimullah Mehsud, a close associate of ex-leader Baitullah Mehsud, had been unanimously appointed at a meeting in northern Pakistan. So, the “deputy-head” announces … Continue reading

SO, WHAT DOES RAMADAN MEAN TO YOU?

It’s sweet to see that the BBC takes such an interest in Ramadan. Here you can read what Arafana from Wrexham makes of it all. It sounds so exciting! Wonder what she makes of the fact that Islam puts women on the same level of animals? Wonder what her view is on “honour killing”? The BBC doesn’t really go there…still, it’s the thought that counts. Happy Ramadan. Click through to … Continue reading

SHE’S A LADY?

Did you catch this interview concerning South Africa’s “golden girl” Caster Semenya, she would won the Gold medal whilst looking more masculine than Usain Bolt? It seems that she, and that proud ANC government she represents are “humiliated” by the suggestion that “she” may in fact be a “he”. The BBC managed to find plenty of family and supporters who insisted that “she was really a she”. From the BBC … Continue reading

MR BEAN IS DlSTRESSED…

God, has there been anything more nauseating than listening to Mr Bean look-a-like Foreign Secretary David Miliband on the BBC telling us how “deeply distressed” he was at the heroes welcome afforded to convicted mass murderer Abdel Basset Ali al-Megrahi in Tripoli. Gosh – who would have imagined that the Libyans would celebrate the return of a killer – especially after Obama had warned them not to do so??? I … Continue reading

TITANTIC SINKING, BUT NOT SO FAST!

I just love the way the BBC tries to ameliorate the wanton destruction that has been caused to the UK economy by the feckless Brown. Here’s a nice example of what the BBC does best.. The number of new cars made in the UK fell 17.9% in July from the same month a year earlier, the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) said. But the drop, to 107,635 cars, … Continue reading
