The subject, that is. Susan and I listened with mounting incredulity as Evan Davies of the Today programme came out with these gems while interviewing an anaesthetist on the subject of the abuse of prescription drugs and painkillers : “Do you – (pause) – if you were – (pause) – if you had a – (pause) – teenage – (pause) – son, and you were trying to advise this – … Continue reading
Sometimes the BBC’s bias still has the power to shock. Perhaps because they just assume that this bias is ok; they know it and they think it’s ok. Reading this article about drought and farming dificulties in California, the story came down to an environmental clash over some fish. The BBC report: It’s not just drought. The reservoir is fed from the the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta, an threatened estuary that … Continue reading
I’m sharing the following press release with B-BBC readers, and I hope it’s of interest to some of you. “CiF Watch Website Launched to Combat Antisemitism on the Guardian newspaper’s ‘Comment is Free’ blog CiF Watch.com, a website dedicated to monitoring and exposing antisemitism on the Guardian newspaper’s ‘Comment is Free’ blog, announced its launch this week. Created to address the endemic problem of antisemitic discourse on the Guardian newspaper’s … Continue reading
Tip of the hat to DB for this rather excellent contribution! “If you fancy a laugh, have a re-read of Matt Frei’s November diary, a Republican-bashing hope-filled brown-nosing paean to America’s then recently elected president. Extract: Earlier this week he announced a plan to get 2.5 million Americans back to work. Then he vowed to have his new director of the congressional budget office go through the existing budgets with … Continue reading
At odds with the theory that we’re all right wingers, some of us regularly visit “left leaning” Harry’s Place. Four recent posts there indicate the way we’re heading, frogmarched along to an unknown destination by our trusted state broadcaster. 1.) More Islamic rules being imposed by the ministry of education in Gaza. This doesn’t auger well for a future self-governing state peacefully existing alongside Israel. The BBC could register this, … Continue reading
Just wanted to thank Ed West over at The Daily Telegraph for his kind words about Biased BBC today and his commendation of our current poll. Much appreciated! Click through to read and contribute comments on this post.
Here is an excellent demolition of BBC “standards” in 2009. In defending Mr Ross, then, and allowing him to be paid £18 mllion to ask questions such as whether the Leader of the Opposition had masturbated at the age of 12 while thinking of the then Prime Mnister, the Director-General considered that he was serving the sustenance of citizenship, the promotion of education and the stimulation of learning and cultural … Continue reading
The BBC dragged on former SNP harridan Margo MacDonald to Today this morning to provide her with an opportunity to put forward her notion that the United Nations should set up a Committee to look into the “facts” of the Lockerbie bombing. Margo’s a bit of a truther when it comes to the Lockerbie and hinted at all kinds of shocking revelations coming out of her fantasy enquiry. Margo also … Continue reading
Obama’s “cash for clunkers” scheme has just finished and the BBC ran this item on it this morning, suggesting that it has been a hugely popular success. The meme is that the stimulus is working. In a four and a half minute item, the BBC kindly provided 30 seconds to the view that this has been far from economically effective and may cause more harm than good. The bias is … Continue reading
