. I am happy to say that Scott Norvell’s article for the WSJ.com Opinion Journal, which mentioned this site and was discussed in this post, is now available to read online.
In other news, the BBC has completely reformed. All traces of bias have been swept away. In a spirit of sincere self-criticism for past errors the entire staff have all agreed to make over their worldly goods to Jeb Bush’s campaign fund and take up life as mendicant monks.
This may not be true. I haven’t been paying any attention to the news for the last few days so I wouldn’t know. If you have been paying attention, feel free to talk about it below.
Anonymous you wrote If the Palestinians really were offered their own state, as it was pre-1967 and without strings, they would have taken it.
Then you write A strawman. I haven’t suggested that Israel should let the Palestinians set the peace.
If you really understand what you have written, then you will see that what I have responded to is no ‘strawman’, but a view you propounded, and to which now you deny doing so.
You are also guilty of racism, although you may not be aware of it, but this is the result of BBC bias making it acceptable. The reason I say this is that Israel has been the most moral (according to your supposed way of thinking, and I don’t dispute this notion) of any nation in history that won a war and returned most all lands won in that war in return for peace. FYI Israel has done far more for the economies of Jordan and Egypt as a result of this peace than the other way round. Israel also built hospitals, schools and universities for the Palestinians, only closing the educational establishments when they were being used to inculcate hatred and belligerance aqainst Israel by the teaching staff.
Instead of applauding Israel’s efforts for doing all that it has done to bring about a peace, when every other nation in history has
taken whatever they wanted and gave little in return, you continue to condemn it for all that it hasn’t done. This is racism.
By the way, where do you get the figures of 6k Palestinains killed against 1k Israelis? This is rubbish.
Someone wrote anonymously:
“When all arguments fail to convince, you can’t resist throwing names about.”
Speaking of names, why is it you choose to avoid throwing some kind of identification about? It looks like a defensive posture by someone who is unconvinced by his or her own arguments.
If you used your own moniker on the blog, it might encourage other visitors to attempt to regard you as something other than a sneering git with no self-confidence.
.
I’m Spartacus!
Then put that into the little name box okay? And then you can explain to me exactly why the Palestinians should be rewarded for over fifty years violence and terrorism – which would never have happened had they obeyed the UN mandate back in ’48.
Spartacus??? Talk about delusions of grandeur. Can I suggest ‘Strawman’ unless you really want to give us a laugh.
