Walid Houdaly again.

Hat tip to Rachel: CAMERA have featured the same story about Walid Houdaly / Hodali and his wife Ataf Alyan that I did on Thursday. Their story features the same link as I found, saying that far from being “jailed for 12 years for being a political organiser” as the BBC said, Mr Houdaly was jailed for being an attempted kidnapper himself.

I’m not saying that CAMERA got the link from me. Once you had twigged the spelling confusion anyone who was reasonaby patient could have got this information from Google – or, of course, by inquiring more deeply at the time of the interview. The BBC did not do either.

The statement that Mr Houdaly was “jailed for 12 years for being a political organiser” is a misrepresentation of Israeli society. Is it going to be changed?

“No,” is the short answer. There seems to be a PC rule, written in stone, that you never, ever mention what a prisoner has actually done to deserve prison. That, of course, would interfere with the bleeding-heart programme for his/her release.

The BBC however, have broken new ground here by deliberately misrepresenting what this motley husband and wife team are guilty of, instead of simply keeping quiet about it.

It’s a new low for BBC hacks. They seem to be taking seriously the Impartiality Review panel’s absurd finding that they need to correct their ‘pro-Israel bias’.

But that’s no excuse for outright lying.

The Beeb continues on a loathsome path. Thanks for digging, Natalie. It says a lot that you had to do spadework that these highly-funded so-called ‘news professionals’ should have done as their basic duty. What a travesty that they seem intent not just on leaving the truth buried but covering the ugly facts even more. What other possible explanation could there be at this point?

I think the BBC has been informed that it is going to receive all that it desires from its partners in the socialist government. It has no further need to make any effort at appearing impartial or reasonable to anyone outside of that grouping.

And like the rest of the established media, it is rapidly learning that the best way to react to the new internet media is to simply ignore it.

Unless you are willing to engage the BBC in its own “complaints” procedure, you will not see this propaganda piece corrected. Proving that the BBC are a bunch of lying bastards to the tiny minority that reads this blog will not be sufficient.
