It isn’t quite as simple as Sentamu makes out. The BBC doesn’t kow-tow to Islam simply out of fear – probably not even primarily out of fear.

Ironically, it does so out of the same sense of post-imperial, liberal guilt with makes any non-white cause intrinsically more worthy. Ironic, because it is exactly the same impulse that resulted in the BBC’s dribblingly sycophantic coverage of Sentamu’s silly antics at his crowning (or whatever it is the C of E does to its bishops).

  6. sean. says:

A partnership of Muslims and Christians is denouncing what it describes as efforts to “de-Christianize British society.” The Christian-Muslim forum says civic officials who remove references to Christianity from Christmas are actually becoming “recruiting agents for the extreme right.”

    no shit mockney…….

Sentamu is abviously a racist, a xenophobe and a jack booted BNP-er who spends his weekends indulging in a bit of good old fashioned paki-bashing.

Very true. But I do love it when a member of the liberal elite’s favoured groups stops reading the script and goes off message.

Yup. Watching the contortions as they tie themselves into knots trying to handle the conflicting loyalties is great fun!

Surely the BBC are not treating people differently becuase of their race?

To everyone but Marxists (an idea that caused 100Million dead) that’s racism.

‘BBC frightened of criticising Islam, says archbishop’

Yes, this is clearly true; and the jihadists are frighteningly intolerant, violent people, and they are in out midst, and their declared war on us is becoming more threatening, as MI5 chief stressed:
‘Terrorist threat to UK MI5 chief’s
    full speech’-http://threatswatch.org
    (10 Nov)

Given that the jihadists have declared war on the non-Muslim world,
we, including the BBC, should do our level best to explicitly expose and
    oppose the jihadists.

If anyone at the BBC has any doubt about the jihadists, see a sample of last night’s near 2-hour
    documentary,’Jihad’, shown on More 4 tv channel-http://www.channel4.com/more4.

I’m personally more fearful of the day when Charles ascends to the throne. The members of “minority faith communities” really will have a field day when that sad day arises.

I like Setamu and I look forward to the day he becomes Archbishop Of Canterbury – though I’m far from certain that the C of E’s liberal establishment will allow that to happen.

Graham Norton had a good bit of unclean fun at the Pope’s expense last night, along with some (very typical) unfunny ‘Bush is stupid’ jokes.

    Did anyone else see it?

    Richy,

I wouldn’t worry – I think there is a good chance that Prince Charles’ mother will actually outlive him. Or at least she will likely live to such an age that the dribbling hippy twit will have the shortest executive career since that Pope that got poisoned.

he does seems to spend an inordinate amount of time in Islamic countries.

the “Religious Policeman” had a lot to say about it…

  23. Nayra says:

Sentamu cannot have it both ways – The BNP are more like the traditional Christians of not that long ago, and he say’s the typical liberal elite things about them. I think the whole UK and Western system is eating itself alive, and the BNP will be there to pick up the pieces.

  24. the_camp_commandant says:

The BNP is just the Labour Party with a bit of Old Labour wog-hating racism thrown in.

AFAIK the BNP has never once won a seat off a Conservative. They only ever take seats off Labour and the Lib Dems. Ideologically it is a much shorter step for a Labour voter to take.

  25. AntiCitizenOne says:

The BNP is socialism with a different group to victimise.

Mainstream socialist blame the finanically succesful.

National Socialists like the BNP blame non-nationals.

The Archbishop also said in that speech he was amazed at how English people ae afraid to protect their heritage or words to that effect.

Well, when he was ordained Archbishop of York they dropped a thousand years of tradition and had African drummers jumping about York Minster. So hes a suprising choice to be defender of English heritage.

As for the BBC I look forward to seeing all the lefty comedians start making as many jokes about islam as they do about chrisitanity – in the interests of equality.

Not the BBC, but typical of those crazy on-the-edge comedians –

The film “The Aristocrats”, shown last night on Film4

An infamous filthy joke is told by dozens of American comedians (plus Brits such as Eric Idle, Eddie Izzard and Billy Connolly) and recorded on digital video by film-makers Paul Provenza and Penn Jillette.

The joke has apparently been around for years & is usually told with lashings of incest, bestiality & bodily fluids.

The film included a brain storming session of a group that thought the usual mix was now too tame & they considered getting more outrageous.

They got as far [deleted] They were not brave enough to venture into Muslim territory.

The BBC where at it in the 50s every play for the week was a married woman having an affair or the other way around, those things were unspeakable then. When therewere complaints, the answer was we are breaking new ground. now they have ploud the whole field and no ground to break.I suppose its muck spreading time now

Graham Norton – a small, rodenty-looking, balding person with no discernible sense of humour – attacking the Pope – a world-class philosopher and incidentally a lively and witty gentleman who still has all his own hair at 79. The comparison is really unfair: like trying to match an egg with titanium steel.

As for American “comedians” – never mind, I would not want to sound like I’m dumping on a whole nation.

Every Christian I have spoken to about this (and there have been 100s)can’t help but utter the immortal line ‘It wouldnt treat Muslims this way!’. Christians have this sense that no one should be as impertenant as to criticise their religion. I cant see how dramatic storylines about an affair are a bias against Christianity, thats absurd! If that logic follows it must also be biased against Muslims cause I dont think theyre keen on adultery either. Chrisitnas quote Jerry Springer the Opera as an example. It wasnt about religion! The BBC was absolutely right to show it, and remain independent rather than to give in to a vocal and militant pressure group. It was done for your benefit but you dont appreciate that of course.
Get down on your knees and thank God youve got the BBC

That anyone of presumably adult years and with the ability to read and write – well, write, at least – should deliver himself of such a display of folly, really makes me wonder how you managed to survive to adulthood. You are too stupid to know enough to eat and drink without anyone instructing you.
