Who is more stupid, Beeboid presenters or Govt Ministers?

A difficult one – on PM we have Peter Hain providing an anti-racist diatribe with regard to Big Brother, and then informs us that he has not seen the relevant excerpts, has never watched Big Brother, and never intends to. Thanks Peter for that informed opinion. Then Eddie “I’m so good at my job” Mair has a go at Hain along the lines of “Why are you coming on here talking about this when there are so many more important things?” Hain points out that he was asked on by the BBC to comment on this particularv story. Also PM devoted at least 15 min to nthis non-event of a story. They deserve each other.

I heard an interview on 5live interviewing someone from the Indian Embassy – can’t remember who. The interviewer asked him if there was any racism in India and he said that racism did not exist in India. And I suppose that he is right because racism does not apply between Asians only between white and ethnic minorities.

Last night Newsnight had a special on the Union and the issue of possible Scottish indedependence. What struck me as amusing was when some participants complained that they did not have an independent (national) broadcaster but instead had to experience everything through London, English, BBC filter(s). The obvious inference I drew was that its not just the Scots but all of us who suffer from the BBC filter and we should
all able to cast it off.

Celebrity Big Brother, racism, and India’s abject hypocrisy

Al-BBC carries this report http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/6272585.stm on the alleged bullying and abuse of Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty.

I say ‘alleged’ because I don’t watch this tosh myself – it does sound though as if there has been some pretty spiteful bitching at her.

The BBC’s report quotes one Anand Sharma, India’s junior minister for external affairs, as having said: “…Racism has no place in civilised society.”

I couldn’t agree more. However, I am not sure how to take Sharma’s remark. Is he saying that there’s no racism in India, or that India’s is not a civilised society? I ask because the government of India has many overtly racist employment and immigration policies.

For instance, in states like Tamil Nadu, around 69% of government jobs are allocated on the basis of race.

The PIO programme (http://www.indianembassy.org/policy/PIO/Introduction_PIO.html) extends rights to brown-skinned people wanting to work, live or invest in India. It does not do so to Bangladeshis, Pakistanis, or of course whites who might be of Indian origin: Portuguese who remained in Portuguese Goa till 1967-odd, for example.

It is, in short, an explicitly race-based test of who is allowed to enter India, which nobody who reported the hypocrite Sharma’s remarks has picked up on.

So in suggesting that “civilised societies” don’t have racism, either he isn’t actually talking about India, or he’s lying, or he’s stupid. Or all of the above: always a strong possibility where socialists are concerned.

Al-BBC is not alone in failing to pick on this obvious and obnoxious pattern of state racism in India. It’s just that, when somebody else does it, I can stop buying their lousy product.

Let dark-skinned racists off the hook. It’s what we do.

in fact, there’s a lot to commend it – like this bit:
“The Central Government may by order, cancel the PIO Card, if it is satisfied that the PIO Card holder has shown himself by act or speech to be disaffected towards the Constitution of India and other laws of India

so that sorts out the islamist hate preachers so. why cant we have a bit of that?

What really annoys me about this BB thing is how the media is trying to make it an international incidnet. They say that even the Prime Minister has stepped in – absolute tosh – someone in the media asked him about it he didn’t step in at all. Then they are interviewing Indian High Commisioner and anyone who will make the “story” a big event. None of these people have seen it.

And why should they its the dregs of so-called modern entertainment. Brought out by left wing media types who are trying to belittle this country. I fear that they are succeeding.

I wonder how many of those thousands of complaints were actually about the programme itself rather than this alledged racist incident?

It is dumbed down cheap television like this that just sums up this sick country. Big events are trivialised yet incidents like this which are totally meaningless are given headlines.

The BBC and its pro Islamic terorist stance

    When ever you hear the BBC use the term ‘Friendly fire’ what impression do you form in your mind;
That a ‘Blue on Blue’ incident has transpired. (Mil speak for Friendly fire)
That the military have f*** up yet again
That our forces have scored an own goal.

So with the above in mind I was somewhat taken aback by how the BBC captioned a thumbnail of a story in which a Muslim convert gave evidence against one of the Islamic terrorist plotters whom he went to school with.

    Friendly fire?
A former friend of two 21 July suspects gives evidence
    http://img172.imageshack.us/img172/9849/image12qq9.jpg

I wonder if the reason the BBC refer to this public minded citizen as ‘Friendly fire’ is simply because not only did he pick up the phone and inform the police he knew one of these terrorists but he is speaking out against him.. Yup he must be bad.

    But I must give credit to one of these terrorists for saying this;
“Mr Bentley also said that Mr Yahya made it clear he did not trust the British media to report world affairs accurately.”

Seems he has the BBC to a tee, pity its from the wrong side of the divide.

Lets face it the BBC has attempted within all its soaps/ dramas, to create an ideal-type. Even the depiction of white working class culture (Eastenders) is staged. They don’t like CHAV (Council house with attitude) views on race and diversity! The agenda of the BBC is so driven by a liberal metropolitan elite, that they have forgotten what the real world is like.
The attention given to BB is not so much a diversionary tactic from the Dispatches prog., but a genuine revulsion that what “they” all take for granted at the BBC is not out there in reality. A reality show has touched a raw nerve at the Beeb!

Compare and contrast the work of two journalists reporting on UN affairs…

    Claudia Rossett :

In what surely qualifies as the single-most-promising United Nations reform effort to date, federal prosecutors in New York, jointly with the New York District Attorney, have just announced the indictment of the man who ran the U.N.’s former Oil-for-Food program: Benon Sevan. Charged with conspiring to commit fraud and taking close to $160,000 in bribes related to Oil-for-Food deals, Sevan, if convicted, could face a prison sentence of up to 50 years. The indictment is, in its way, a neat retort to attempts by Sevan’s old boss, former Secretary-General Kofi Annan, to downplay the landmark Oil-for-Food scam in terms of “If there was a scandal.”

Sevan, who denies any wrongdoing, was of course nowhere near the federal courtroom when the indictment was unsealed. It’s been almost two years since he slipped out of New York and returned to his native Cyprus, while Annan’s spokesman was busy telling the press that this prime Oil-for-Food suspect was under control. In Cyprus, Sevan would be safe from U.S. extradition, and it appears that’s where he is now. After the indictment was announced, on Tuesday, I called his Cyprus cell phone. Sevan answered, saying he couldn’t talk, because “I am in traffic, driving.” When I called back later, he said, “Talk to my lawyer, please” — and hung up the phone.

So begins the next chapter in this saga spawned by the U.N.’s lucrative and corrupt collaboration with one of the world’s worst tyrants, the late Saddam Hussein. Advertised as a U.N.-run relief program for Saddam’s U.N.-sanctioned Iraq, the 1996-2003 Oil-for-Food program devolved into a worldwide extravaganza of kickbacks, smuggling, and bribes, fortifying Saddam with more than $17 billion in illicit funds, according to Senate investigators.

The BBC’s UN correspondent Laura Trevelyan:

Yours truly has been roped in to sing a farewell ditty to Kofi Annan, to the tune of Arrivederci Roma.

    It goes something like this:

Arrivederci Kofi, goodbye goodbye New York, city of a million resolutions, city of a thousand competing solutions, where I found a world of many faces, far from home.

Let us hope he likes it.

there are rather a lot of them, and its idiotic to think that they are ALL jihad nutters. we are a free country – in theory – and therefore, any kind of belief should be expressed. that is the nature of a free society. BUT – a free society depends on a 4th estate (the press) keeping an eye on things.

in that regard, the bbc has utterly failed this week and by hiding stuff only furthered the cause of the BNP – and also, furthered the cause of their enemies, the Islamists.

true freedom exposes both – brushing things under the carpet is what the Stalinists used to do. and sadly, it has come to pass – this is what is happening in the UK in 2007.

I doubt whether this rare, unsighted specimen we call the ‘moderate’ Muslim needs the MSM to alert him/her about the hate speech emanating from the mosques. He/she only needs to enter the mosques or be exposed in a number of other ways to the hatred of the ‘tiny minority’ of radical Muslims. Until I see any real evidence to the contrary, I will continue to believe that the ‘rift’ between ‘moderate’ and radical Islam is an imaginary construct perpetuated by Muslims and by the MSM (with the BBC in the lead) to lull us into a false sense of security as to the real nature and aims of Islam.

The link provided by Nom de guerre, 18.01.07 – 1:42 am, is more evidence of yet another attempt to portray Muslims as the victims here, with the usual hand-wringing headline, also typical of the BBC:

where was the anger and disgust and mass demonstrations by English protestants when Ulster protestants were killing catholics in belfast in 1969/70?

the argument kind of falls flat on its face because we all understand the differences in the various strands of protestantism. a similar kind of argument would be “why dont christians speak out about what a KKK klansman said last week about wanting to kill all black people?”

of course, you and i know that doing so only gives KKK idiots airtime – that we are actually treating such idiots seriously. most people, rightly. just ignore such idiocy and dont give it the time of day in their lives.

the thing is – the msm (and the government) perpetuates the myth of the “muslim community”. there is no such thing. its as ridiculous as talking about the “christian community” in ulster.

saying “muslim community” just diverts us all away from the real source of uk based islamic radicalism – and its just two countries – saudi arabia and pakistan.
