THAT ISRAELI ELECTION.

Well then, today Israel goes to the polsl and the BBC nightmare of a Likud win draws closer by the hour. If you want a laugh, read their live coverage of events here. We have charmers such as Lyse Douchet and Wyre Davies expressing surprise that instead of a lacklustre turnout, we could see a record turn-out. Who would have imagined that then? I see several BBC pundits trying to spin things for a surprise Kadima win – we’ll see. One thing is for certain, if Netanyahu does manage to win – he will become the new international hate figure now that Bush is gone and you can be sure the BBC will try to undermine him from the start. Given BBC visceral hatred towards Israel, manifest in Abu Bowen’s latest propaganda last night on BBC1 as blogged by Sue, there really is a case for banning the BBC from Israel since it actively seeks to undermine this beacon of democracy in the sea of surrounding Arab darkness.

My Knee-Jerk Reaction

What can I say? All pretence of impartiality has been abandoned. It’s unbelievable that Jeremy Bowen is the BBC’s Middle East Editor. What can the BBC be thinking of? If the BBC regards the hate-jamboree we’ve just witnessed on Panorama as acceptable broadcasting, no wonder people have uncontrollable outbursts in gyms. 

Jeremy Bowen is irresponsible, out of his depth, prejudiced, antisemitic and incompetent. His pornographic wallowing in human misery and his sneering dismissal of anything said by Israel comes close to deliberate incitement to racial hatred. The Israeli spokesman was a particularly unsympathetic character who looked, or was made to look, vengeful and cold.

 

Bowen’s references to ‘what happened in 1948’ were inaccurate and deliberately provocative, the disingenuous way he limply offered up ‘Israel’s claims’ just so that they could be dismissed, the complete absence of any reference to Hamas’s violence, repression and tyranny, and his almost pleading finale on behalf of the Hamas offer of a 10 year Hudna, they all…… beggar belief.

Campaign or Sham Pain

We get plenty of campaigning on the BBC. As opposed to journalism, as Bryan has pointed out. Interviewers on BBC World service sometimes employ questioning techniques that stray far from ‘drawing out’ the interviewee, and seamlessly slide into clumsy hectoring.

On Wednesday’s Outlook, we heard from the notoriousLynndie England of Abu Ghraib fame. The interview was marred by Lucy Ash’s attitude which openly oozed with contempt.

We may have views on the Lynndie England affair, and are capable of listening to her answers for ourselves. We don’t need to hear Lucy Ash’s personal view, or to hear accusations that Lynndie England did not even feel sorry for the prisoners. This crude method of questioning is counterproductive anyway. When Ms. England refused to answer the question, all I thought was ‘Good for you!’ – not quite what Lucy Ash wanted me to think, I imagine.

Another similarly unprofessional display of open hostility was shown by the host of WHYS, Rebecca Kesby whose handling of the hour long phone-in with guest ex terrorist apostate Waleed Shoebat appeared to favour the callers defending Islam. She displayed her obvious disapproval of Mr. Shoebat, who I thought spoke throughout with the voice of reason.

A couple of callers with impenetrable accents phoned in, speaking unintelligibly at length. Far too PC to admit she couldn’t make head or tail of what they were saying, she pretended the line was bad. Funny, though.

Approaching Mark Regev with questions such as “Aren’t you sorry?”…… “ Do you ever stop to think, just for one moment?……” “Are you proud of yourself?” “Don’t you feel sorry?” as both Gavin Esler and Sarah Montague did recently, is unprofessional and a complete departure from good journalism.

BONUS CULTURE

The BBC seems to be at the fore for propagating the Government view that any bonus payment is wrong if tax-payers money is involved. Currently the banks are at the heart of this debate, with the likes of little Yvette Cooper popping up on the Today programme this morning to demand that bankers exercise “moral responsibility” and forego any bonus payments to which they may be legally entitled. Perhaps that it fair enough given the deplorable state of some banks management but what about all those juicy bonus payments that so enrich those who work for the NHS Trusts, who work in the Civil Service, who work in Local Government, and who work for the BBC? Isn’t it “morally responsible” for all of them at all levels to show restraint at this difficult time and walk away from all such tax-payer funded largesse? Or is the chance to beat up on the private finance sector just to good an opportunity for Labour to pass?

BINYAM UPDATE

There is NOTHING the BBC likes more than the chance to shill for terrorists, sorry, I meant militants. Hence we were treated to another five minute ad for “Britain” Binyam Mohamad on Today this morning. Ethiopian illegal immigrant Mohamad is now an official BBC cause celebre and the fact that this captured Jihadist ticks all the boxes for the BBC clearly adds to his attraction. His only crime was to be caught but now he will get more time devoted to him than all those many victims of Jihad. The BBC doesn’t give a damn about real victims when there are those like Binyam to celebrate.

DEATH BY THE BBC?

I see that Carol Thatcher has received death threats over her alleged ‘golliwog’ comment about a tennis player.

Miss Thatcher, who has taken refuge in Switzerland following the furore over the incident, is said to be considering suing the BBC over her dismissal from The One Show. Her agent said: ‘It’s been an awful time. We’ve even had death threats.’

If this is true – should she not report the BBC to the police? After all, several BBC “personalities” (aka license fee parasites) have been keen to rush to the media and report on alleged comments made off-air. In doing so, have they endangered Carol Thatcher’s life? And I wonder WHO might be making death threats against her? Have these intrepid seekers of truth not gone after THAT angle?

 

This entire “golliwog”story is back to front. The word is not illegal, the usage is not proven – this is all BBC driven hysteria. We know nothing of the context of the comments, nor do I quite understand why a private conversation can be so very publicly trailed through the media. Well, that’s not true. It’s to ensure damage to the brand Thatcher, to associate it with racism, and to extol the right-on vanities of hypocrites such as Jo Brand and Adrian Chiles.

HYPOCRITES

Oh dear – read this and then feel so sorry for all those working for the Foreign Office. Do you feel their pain? This article is loaded from start to finish with pro-F.O. spin and yet the same rotten BBC that report this blithely dismiss the worries of British business that is being crippled by the same falling Pound vs the Euro /Dollar by pretending that our “exports” will more than compensate for the devastation caused by Brown’s financial incompetence. The F.O. always get a sympathetic press from the BBC and I put this down to the fact that it, like the BBC, is infested with traitorous vipers who loath everything great about Britain.
