Little Things Mean a Lot

Honest Reporting has noticed how the BBC slants headlines to demonise Israel and excuse Palestinians.

Trivial things, some might say, but all part of the drip drip.

Antisemitism. My favourite subject, you’ll say. The Sunday programme, radio 4, reports that it’s rearing its ugly head on campus.

Two Jewish students describe the serious intimidation they are subjected to at student rallies and ‘Gaza protests.’ Other students, adamantly deny ‘any trace’ of antisemitism, but are not confronted with those allegations. None of these students acknowledge that their behaviour is antisemitic, and are deeply offended that anyone should think it is. Roger Bolton did tackle the subject, I admit, but was much too easily satisfied with leaving the subject hugely unresolved.

What has inflamed the students and exploited their youthful sense of injustice to the point where they choose to side with Islamic ideology, and concentrate their energies into condemning Israel? Could it be anything to do with incessant outpourings from the BBC and the rest of the media? An intelligent sounding girl said “There are currently people DYING out there – children – and not only that – they’re also having their homes taken away from them!”
Tony Benn has said the same thing on air often enough, (so it must be true.) Does that fully explain why intelligent students are supporting an Islamist outfit like Hamas and maligning and blaming Israel? Have keffiah-clad lecturers put paid to independent thought altogether? Has the BBC over many years achieved an enormous conjuring trick, that of turning reason on its head?
It would seem so.

It’s your turn to answer questions Gus, not people here. You have signally and repeatedly failed to answer questions and arguments put to you.

You are a waste of time and space – in short – a troll. Boring too, totally predictable.

Is Galloways action illegal? Any more illegal than America arming Israel?

    1. What’s legality got to do with it?. Galloway is still an M.P.
Our government deems Hamas a terrorist organisation which makes him a traitor.
Though it’s irrelevant, there’s nothing illegal in America arming Israel as you ought to know.

Why do you assume ‘bias’ is the result of the BBCs omission on this story? Could it just be crap journalism?

    2. We are allowed to comment on crap journalism. It’s not part of the BBC’s charter yet. Omission is a form of Bias as you ought to know.

explain to me how this story is anti Israeli?

    3. Something tells me you haven’t read my post at all. Nor any of my (or anyone else’s) comments.

    ******

This ‘mercy-mission,’ and others like it, is just a bandwagon comprising the same old self publicists that revel in vilifying Israel.

My bias as you call it, is a belief in Israel’s right to exist. I have looked at its history as you have not. I support it but not necessarily all its policies.

My bias is in favour of our values as opposed to repressive medieval Islamic values, and I oppose our state broadcaster’s attempts to lull us into a false sense of security about creeping Islamisation in the U.K. and to overlook our government’s acts of appeasement of extremists.

There is a constant bias in the BBC and the media which I see and you don’t. You don’t see it because you have been lulled into a state of complacency and kept ill-informed.
But it’s pointless discussing anything with you Gus, because you haven’t grasped the art of discussing. I state my case, and you bring up some irrelevant questions. Not worth it my friend.

It is not illegal for any country to arm any other (however despicable) unless it is specifically prohibited such as was the case for certain countries in wars or undergoing sanctions such as Iraq in the past.

You surely know this and presumably agree with the line if you repeat a lie often enough it will be believed.

As for Galloways actions are they illegal, perhaps, I would like to see a court decide.
Clearly it is illegal in Egypt for him to call for the violent overthrow of its legitimate president, which he undeniably did.
It was illegal for him to allow would be terrorists to accompany his convoy as cover for their intended activity.
It is illegal to take a whole variety of items into Gaza both under Egyptian, Israeli and international law, it would have to be determined precisely what was taken into Gaza.
It was illegal for his supporters to fight with Egyptian security officers in egypt.
It is illegal in this country for him to stir up racial hatred against a race (the Jews).

Whether something is illiegal in Egypt is really up to the Egyptians who clearly aren’t arresting him. If it is to be considered illegal under international or indeed UK law to arm terrorists then there is a very long list of UK politicians facing decades in chocky for arming our openly genocidal KLA friends. However bad Hamas are & they certainly are, they aren’t cutting up people while still alive to sell to us in parts as the NATO polics/KLA have.
