THE SHAPE OF THINGS TO COME!

Hello and welcome to the brand new Biased BBC site! It’s a revolution in design and I hope you will have a look around and settle in to this new look site.

Of course these things take a lot of work and that’s why my first responsibility is to express my sincere thanks to Geoff – he from All Seeing Eye – without whose enthusiasm, good humour and sustained effort this would not have been possible. I also want to publicly thank G.O.T. (Warning; sweary blog!) for his excellent and visionary work here. We owe these two fine gentlemen thanks for bringing this work to fruition and I doff my cap to both. This is also a work in progress so please bear with us as we finesse and complete. Now, to deal with the BBC…

Ouch, help. How does the computer-challenged post a link?

    I’m using the name/URL option.

Ouch, help again. I can’t maximise the comments box. The maximise tab is gray for me.

Dunno, could be my ancient system?

Possibly TooTrue, it works fine in Firefox and IE and is standard blogger code so nothing unusual.

Very nice. Likes the new look overall, will take some time to get used to though. Shame about the new comment system. Haloscan’s system, albeit old and toothless, still is the simplest and easiest to use.
You should consider moving the ‘About BBBC’ and ‘Contact Us’ to the top of the right-hand column instead of the label cloud,it’s more logical that way (new comers who wish to see what’s it all about etc.)

    Congrats.

Hmm, that’s great, my space between the italicized paragraph and the next paragraph wasn’t preserved! Looked OK in the preview….

2nd attempt to post a comment… testing (cd be my antiquated system). Btw: any chance we can maximise the comments box? What about the new/old comments number facility?

I’d say things need to settle down.

There are features that can be added, like keeping the general comment thread at the top or nr the top and ‘click to read more’ function, and a few other things..

It’s a matter of getting used to new surroundings, which are much nicer.

    David,

Any chance of recovering the Haloscan comments in the archive? Looks like the old blog posts are all there but the comments have gone. It happened a couple of years back that the archives vanished from the sidebar for a week or two but then were reinstated.

    Geoff,

I switched to my old I.E. but can’t comment at all using it, so I’m back on Firefox 2.
