The United Nations and the BBC are both beloved of our county’s Left-wing statist governing class because they both do evil lousy things that they and their whacko supporters like.
For example, the United Nations, whose voting majority mostly consists of oil-rich absolute monarchies, dictatorships, communist tyrannies and Islamist hell-holes, spends an inordinate amount of time and effort excusing the Arab Islamist genocide in Darfur because Red China has troops there to protect their oil supplies; and in attacking Israel – the Middle East’s only established democracy; and in voting in measures to criminalize any criticism of Islam or Muslim countries as offensive to ‘religion.’ Just the one religion, you’ll find.
Now, leaving aside the actual up-front Marxists and barking mad Islamist whack-jobs who openly support this kind of mass-murdering evil, when people like me argue for example that the free countries of the world ought to leave the farcical UN to stew on its own juices and form a body that insists on there being an actual democracy and a free society before a state joins, then the soft-Left and soggy centre will join the evil Left and throw up a straw-man chorus of ‘Oh, but the World Health Organization beat smallpox and still does a lot of vaccination work in the Third World. If the West leaves the UN, then many children will die’ (as if a new moral and democratic world body couldn’t or wouldn’t finance and run such programmes.)
Likewise with the BBC. When the BBC continues in its cultural Marxist way blood libelling the Jews of the Middle East by describing Israel’s inadvertent bombardment of civilians (because the jihadist larval coprolites and cousin-husbands of Hamas and Hezbollah like to cower amongst civilians) as ‘targetting,’ i.e., deliberately aiming at with the intention of killing, and when the BBC spends a fortune investigating its own coverage of the Lebanon war for blatant anti-Israeli bias and then when the report finds that hell, yes, the BBC’s output is spectacularly biased against Israel and the BBC spends another fortune on persuading a judge to declare the results of the research secret, well…
Well then people like me come along and say things like, ‘Hey, kids, why don’t we break up the BBC for parts and sell to the highest bidder?’ or ‘Spread the licence fee around a bit in the hope of some coverage not actually dictated by the angel Gabriel to the illiterate Robert Fisk and Jeremy Bowen,’ or’ Why not just close the bloody thing down and let the papers fill the airwaves at their own expense.’
Now, leaving aside the actual up-front Marxists and barking mad Islamist whack-jobs who openly support this kind of truth-murdering evil, then the soft-Left and soggy centre will join the evil Left and often someone calling himself a ‘Conservative MP’ (though I have a better name which I won’t use here as there are probably ladies present) and throw up a straw-man chorus of ‘Oh, but the BBC puts on Last Night of the Proms and Songs Of Praise, and if we broke up the BBC those programmes would never happen!’ As if all the rest of the BBC’s 365-days-per-year annual output wasn’t the ideological opposite of Last Night of the Proms and Songs of Praise anyway.
So, the UN and the BBC are both irredeemably corrupt, culturally Marxist, Islamist-loving sumps for British taxpayer’s money and preach hate and evil in the world, and each has one small sugar-coated treat that is used to shield and excuse all the rest of the sewage that is their standard output.
