Have you been following the BBC’s fawning coverage of Obama’s assault on the US car owners or as the media prefer to put it, his tough new emissions standards to help save the world? Naturally the BBC only present one side of the story – for the OTHER side, try here.

you have to go as far right as MALKIN to get the “other side”? I’d say that proves what a wingnut view it really is.

Did anyone hear the Queen of breakfast radio (Nicki Campbell) interviewing Cameron this morning?

Campbell decided to wheel out the standard beeboid claim that Tories are racists for aligning with right wing groups in the European Parliament. Cameron deied this all of course.

But when Campbell was reeling off the names of right wing eastern European politicians with some unpleasant views, the Queen of breakfast radio then tried to link anyone who doesn’t follow the climate change crap is as bad as being a racist.

Campbell lists other right win MEPs and when Cameron slaps him down that there is a left wing Polish MEP who thinks Hitler did a good job Campbell gets all defencive with the “it doesn’t make it right” .So why is Campbell defending left wing biggots?

Listen to it here. Start from about 26 minutes in.

So according to the Queen of breakfast radio climate change deniers are as bad as racist fascists.

Yes, the President’s new cunning plan – based on highly politicized science and religious belief (things which, you know, the BBC condemned when that other guy was in charge) – will add $1300 to the price of new cars. He claims that fuel savings will make compensate for this, but the numbers don’t add up unless gas prices stay really low forever.

But that’s only a tiny problem. The real problem is that GM is going to be owned by the government anyway. Guess who fired the CEO, bullied Chrysler’s creditors into giving up their rights in favor of handing things over to unions, and pretty much influenced the direction of GM’s bankruptcy?

The President is going the full Chavez on the auto industry. No wingnuttery here, just facts.

David Presier: And has Obama brought the car makers unions to heal? They’ve done most damage to the US auto industry.

We went through all that in the 70’s with tosser like Red Robbo.

    Schedule Obama
Sunday – reconcile all sides in the abortion debate
Monday – fix the Israel/Palestine problem
Tuesday – cut fuel emissions in cars
Wednesday – having fixed the Hubble space telescope, guide the shuttle back to earth
Thursday – cure the swine flu and cancer
Friday…write a book about how great he is.

This guy is amazing! Except for one thing: – for all the talk, he still hasn’t actually DONE anything.

    Martin,

The President shredded US contract law to give the lion’s share of Chrysler to the union. He’s saving GM in order to have the taxpayer pay bloated union pensions and membership fees. It’s more like the law and my wallet have been brought to heel.

I heard a really scary stat the other day. Because of all this equal opp legal shit – members are suing fuck out of their unions and loads of them are a few court decisions from going bust. New Labour – everything it’s touched, it’s destroyed. You’ve got to take your hat off for consistency.

I had to laugh tonight. Listening on Fox they were talking about how Obama is going to have to do a total U turn on closing Guantanamo. He’s probably going to have to build a remote prison somewhere on an Island (hmm, are they not already on one?) or a remote prison in the USA – how about California? Right next to some gay pride village. I’m sure they’d be really happy to have a few hundred bushy bearded loons.

  9. David Preiser says:

    Martin,

The BBC’s lying about why that is right now. Of course, that’s because, other than defeating George Bush, closing Guantanamo has so far been His greatest triumph (What’s that? He was actually running against John McCain? The BBC presented it as a continuation of the Bush Administration).

So now that both houses of Congress are aware that His cunning plan is going to cause serious problems, they’re declining to provide the funding to pay for it. Of course, the BBC does not want you to wonder why they weren’t screaming about Congress willingly providing funding for Bush’s torture chamber all these years, but never mind.

In any case, BBC Obama Diarist and US correspondent James Coomarsamy says that this is merely “a hiccup rather than a major setback”. Yeah, sure, they’ll work it out. As you know, anyone who is aware of reality outside the BBC will be suspicious of that. No, no, the BBC wants you to think it’s just “back to the drawing board”.

The utter BS continues with this:

Most democrats support his commitment to close Guantanamo Bay, but realise that agreeing to fund an ill-prepared process would provide fodder for the Republican opposition.

Republicans will object just because the plan for imprisoning the inmates elsewhere or releasing them outright is poorly funded? Where on earth did they get that idea? People in the real world know that there are other problems. For example, certain naughty foreign governments refusing to help out by taking residents back, naughty US lawmakers refusing to help out because they don’t want the hassle of having terrorists in prisons in their own constituencies, Senate Majority leaders who have no clue what to do about it, as well as other problems the adults foresaw adults foresaw back in January.

But hey, it was a very sexy, purely superficial political move, and oh, my, did the Beeboids swoon.

Yeah, it’s really all about the funding. This is the first time in history that Congress has refused to provide funding for something because they really want to spend more. Dopey Beeboids.

To make matters worse, the BBC News Online Beeboid tries to polish this turd by saying that, even though The Obamessiah has flip-flopped back to the Bush Administration’s policy of military tribunals for terrorist suspects, it’s okay because He’ll do it better.

Hey, where’s that Supreme Court now to demonstrate its vital constitutional role as a check and balance against nasty Presidents by saying that the President doesn’t have the authority to hold military tribunals? Surprise: no mention of that at all in their latest report. Instead, it’s more turd polishing.

Gosh, whatever will He do? I don’t know who it was, but some US pundit said that all of The Obamessiah’s promises come with an expiration date. Except the one about spreading the wealth around, sadly.

  10. JohnA says:

General Motors and Chrysler are far less adaptable than other car companies operating in the US – firms like Toyaota and Honda will easily adjust to the new emission limits, their cars are smaller anyway on average.

So, GM and Chrysler will emerge from the crooked bankruptcies that Obama is pushing through, with the loss of billions and billions of tapayers’ money. Many Americans have already saud they will never buy from these companies again. And now these new emission limits will crucify GM and Chrysler yet again.

That is why Fiat are essentialy taking Chrysler off the US for peanuts.

But the taxpayer will end uppaying the union members all their benefits and health cover indefinitely.

    Brilliant policy, Obama.

The BBC whine about their ‘editorial independence’ while in fact they are a partisan political pressure and propaganda empire, Obama fits their political prejudice therefore he can do no wrong.
The USSR gave the people the Lada car, governments that dictate what people can drive or use will ALWAYS make the people suffer, capitalism has given the people unprecended wealth and comfort whereas socialism has ALWAYS brought poverty, jelousy, rationing and queues.
Obamas plan is socialist central planning and it will be a disaster of epic proportions, it drives a horse and cart through everything that made America great, it will impoverish ordinary Americans and will destroy the competetive capitalist nature of the US.
The BBC knows full well that there are many who disagree with Obamas socialist experiment but they choose not allow any dissent to be heard.

    David P (3.49 am)

“This is not the first time that the president has got into a politically difficult situation trying to strike a balance between national security and fulfilling his campaign commitments, adds our correspondent.”
Coomarasamy is again peddling the Webb-line that whenever Obama flip-flops he is being a “pragmatist” (and not an “idealogue”) – unlike George Bush.
This is becoming a regular a part of the BBC narrative – as earlier postings have revealed.
Obama truly can do no wrong at the Beeb.

    Craig,

Once again, Corinthians 15 is appropriate:

    1. Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;

    2. By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

John Bosworth – you forgot Saturday.

Saturday – hold a White House press conference, recapping the week’s achievements, prefacing everything with the word “historic”.

Has anyone else noticed how just EVERYTHING he talks about is somehow “historic”?
