QUESTION TIME LIVEBLOG!

OK – so we go live later this evening and here is the panel for your edification. We have media opportunist liberal Lembit Opik, then there is phew wot a scorcher Conservative parliamentary candidate Margot James, (the new Nadine Dorries now she is mad); there is Trasha from garbage TV, and of course we shouldn’t forget FT Editor Lionel Barber; finally there is lovely boy Chris Bryant from the Rhondda. I invite you to visit Chris”s homepage here if you want a laugh, check out the excerpt from his maiden speech. We kick off at 10.30pm and best of all, I have two good gentlemen to moderate alongside me! David Mosque has kindly agreed to be here – and Geoff may be back for the first time since his accident. All in all it should be a laugh and don’t worry about the direness of the panel – we more than make up for that in our commentary! Be there.

Trisha Goddard – daytime talk show host! Trasha seems more apt. It's a freak show for sure – which is why we should all head over to view this wonder!!

Seems Chris Bryant didn't even read what was on his home page; or is this what he actually said:
"to build a decent for their family"
What is a "decent" that he wants to build?

  11. woman on a raft says:

Chris Bryant deserves a 5/10 as he has piloted a bundle of measures for trying to stop forced marriages. It's close to brave – the people he's telling they can't go dragging their teenage daughters halfway across the world to marry a stranger, are not the sort of people who take kindly to being told what to do by a young white gay person.

It's not fully brave as he's waited until other people have had the fight first, such as Ann Cryer, who had to absorb an amazing amount of personal threats and abuse when she started to say forced marriage was wrong.

Still, it's a start and Bryant deserves at least a little round of applause.

  12. George R says:

"BBC pays damages to Muslim leader" ('UK' page.)

    [Opening extract]:

"The BBC has agreed to pay £45,000 in damages to the head of the Muslim Council of Britain over a libellous claim in the 'Question Time' programme.

"The claim was made by a panellist on the programme, who accused Muhammad Abdul Bari of implicitly condoning the kidnap and killing of British soldiers."
