"OCCUPIED" EAST JERUSALEM

Notice the BBC made reference to both “occupied” East Jerusalem and other “occupied” Palestinian lands on the Ten O Clock New. Allah be praised, such impartial language from Al Beeb. They must really hate those pesky Jews.

    A counter-BBC viewpoint on JERUSALEM:

    'New English Review.org' (27/05/09.)

"The most important issue for all Jews, especially the citizens of Israel is Jerusalem! Do you really think we have any obligation to divide Jerusalem after its re-unification as a result of the 1967 Six Days of War? Do you think it will appease Palestinians or those irredentist Israel Arabs in their quest to establish a state in Israel’s midst? Would you like to see Paris and other major cities in France divided into self governing ‘no go zones’ just to appease the significant minority Muslim community? As a former Interior Minister involved in combating Muslim extremists burning their districts and murdering French Jewish citizens you should know better.
    [..]
"If for the sake of peace we capitulate to the Palestinian Hamas terrorist regime in Gaza and the corrupt PA regime in Ramallah that refuses to recognize the Jewish State of Israel, then Muslims in France and many European countries could separate from their host countries.

"Did President Abraham Lincoln allow the South to split the Union? No! In a devastating Civil War a unified America was preserved.

"Should Russia have allowed Chechnya to separate? Should Sri Lanka have permitted the Tamil Tigers in a 25 year civil war to form a separate state? The answer is a resounding, no.

"Should England allow London to split, just because there are Muslims who want their own capitol under Islamic Sharia Law? As President of France would you tolerate the formation of self-governing Muslim districts in Paris, Lyon or Marseilles?

"So too for Jerusalem. Jerusalem was a Jewish capitol long before any other nation conquered or occupied it. For the past 3000 years Jerusalem has been the center of the Jewish World. Either it was a Jewish capitol or it lay dormant or destroyed until our people returned. This is G-d's statement to the world! 'Jerusalem is my capitol and must remain in the hands of the Jewish people.'"

I may be wrong – but I understand that Muslims/Arabs have absolute freedom of religion within the State of Israel – incluging Jerusalem. And they suffer NIL persecuton ? Further, that the Israel Government wishes to see Islamic buildings/mosques etc preserved and well looked-after – any Islamic heritage respected and protected ?

Is there anywhere in the Arab world where all this applies to Christians – let alone to Jews ?

What pisses me off most is the fact that 1400 years ago some moron named Mohammed decided to found a religion and named a lot of "really holy sites" (Jerusalem among them).

Shouldn't we stand up and tell these morons to get lost? Go to Medina and stare at your kabaa. That should do it.

Al Beeb needs to be destroyed and fast.

Oh, I was referring to "Mecca"… as I stated before – too many "holy sites".

I wonder what would happen if the BBC was targetted by Muslim terrorists.

When Israel was formed the Jordanian army seized East Jerusalem – bombarding it with artillery, and finally driving all Jews out. Followed by pillaging of the synagogues, destruction of Jewish graveyards.

Subsequently Israel let Arabs buy property in West Jerusalem.

Since 1967 and a unified Jerusalem, there has continued to be a free-market policy – in both parts of Jerusalem.

Talking about occupied Palestinian territories is hypocritical, impractical, ahistorical and may not even be legally true, definitely for Gaza and possibly for elsewhere.

Nevertheless the BBC is on firm grounds on this one as long as the United Nations continues to use this term.

Katya Adler won't tell BBC viewers that Arabs have been moving into 'Jewish' areas of Jerusalem such as French Hill or Neve Yaakov. Neither will they be told that Mount Scopus in east Jerusalem – the original site of the Hebrew university – was never surrendered to the Jordanians, or that the Kalandia refugee camp stands on land owned by the Jewish National Fund. Whatever happens, viewers must not be confused with the facts

We never got 'occupied' from the BBC when they referred to Poland, East Germany, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, the Ukraine, the Baltic states etc during the days of the soviet Empire.

They are 'occupied' tho David – by the chaps who own it, much as I occupy my house. It's mine – bwah ha ha ha etc.

Sarah Montague this morning was brilliant – got me into work at 7.45 I was so angry – kind of a record for a Monday morning Toady prog.

Anyway must dash, want to listen to Victoria Derbyshire's hard hitting interrogation of Damien 'let's make out she's mental' McBride on Radio 5. No, hang on a minute – not really into self harming.
