James Naughtie introducing a Steve Earle interview this morning:
“The American singer-songwriter Steve Earle has been interviewed quite often on this programme over the years about his political views.”
I can’t for the life of me think what it is about the political views of this anti-Bush, anti-war, anti-Guantanamo, anti-death penalty left-wing American singer-songwriter that makes him such a favourite on the Today programme.
Maybe it was to promote this “Epic Movie”

from reading that bBC article. I get the management are really impressed that somebody is making a blockbuster about their hero.

The last time anyone tried to make a movie about Mohammed Messenger of God it was a crashing failure. Eventually it was bailed out by Qaddafi of Libya but it was banned by many Muslim countries and did virtually zero business in the West. One should remember that for many Muslims any representation of the prophet of Islam or his voice is forbidden. So the movie was based entirely on ‘negative space’…

He should stick to singing. I liked ‘Copperhead Road’.

His presence on air enables the BBC to project its invidious left wing propaganda to the masses without fear of contradiction.

I wonder how many American artists with right-wing views are invited onto the BBC to talk about them? I haven’t heard of any.

Everyone, hope your anti-virus software is up to date.
My Kaspersky has just denied a trojan horse attack after allowing scripts on this site through firefox.
Worth keeping javascript de-activated until you’ve updated.

I can confirm what WilS-2020 wrote above, here is what my log has to say;
02/11/2009 21:26:21 Detected: HEUR:Trojan.Script.Generic
However, I also run webroot Spysweeper and that has detected nothing. Currently running a search. But as I also run Kapersky It may have been a false positive on behalf of its heuristic engine. (As the report also included absent) Here is a little more information on the above;

Who is Steve Earle anyway ?
Sounds pretty obscure to me. But as he is a total leftie of course he gets repeat invites from Today.
Time and time again we hear guests across a whole range of BBC programming who parrot the usual leftie nonsense. It seemed that anyone with a gripe against Bush was given airtime.

Has Ted Nugent ever been on Today? I suspect not.
