A LIGHT GOES OUT AT THE BBC…

Sorry to see Sir Terry Wogan broadcast his final early morning show. I think he was one of the few stars left in the BBC crown and when Chris Evans take his place in January I shall not be listening. Sir Terry’s genial charm, lack of vulgarity and common decency will be missed by many people and he leaves the BBC looking a poorer place.

If only others at the BBC were prepared to voice the thoughts of millions with Terry Wogan’s takes on matters of current interest, often from the non-pc point of view, the BBC would be a far better place, but then he probably did not care as he was relatively unassailable and already 65 plus.

I did have to e-mail him to admonish him over calling the Obamessiah a turkey recently in a joke on air. He may have temporarily forgotten Obama’s status at the BBC and of course that he is (whisper it quietly) black.

I didn’t hear his last programme and indeed haven’t heard that radio programme for a long time but I agree with you. Those words – genial wit and charm – sum him up, and along with decency and decorum, made for a civility that the BBeast often seems to despise in favour of the vulgar, sleazy and downright offensive. That’s what the BBeast (doesn’t half like to flatter itself) considers being on the cutting edge, I believe.

Someone made a joke about The One on the BBC? Blimey, that’s a first, surely.

      MT — special decoder ring.

You’ll now start to hear “jokes” (allegedly) with Obama as the punch line, but mocking him from the LEFT.

The loony leftists still generally support the crypto-Marxist, but they now reckon it’ll help him try to maintain his postage stamp sized fig leaf that he’s “centrist”.

Yeah, you’ll find Obama right in the middle between Michael Foot and Chairman Mao.

I didn’t watch or listen to him, but I admired how he managed to keep the same hairstyle all through his professional career (and possibly life).

He was always willing to make light of the BBC’s obsession with AGW.
He will be missed by many, but hey, we can now expect to hear jokes about “knob cheese” and such from new Cheeky Chappy. Should be fun.

Never really liked Terry Wogan for some reason (found him annoying) but he’s better than Woss who’s terrible. Parkinson was the man though especially through the 70’s and early 80’s.

When BBC used to do entertainment.

Did the BBC have to make such a fuss of one of their own though? He’s a DJ.

Of far more importance is the moving of Simon Mayo (a tolerable wet leftie) to Radio 2 and to be replaced by the 150% vile Richard Bacon a man who sniffs Obama’s backside for the sheer pleasure.

I just think the BBC made too much of a fuss, especially when we’re fighting a losing war in Afghanistan, unemployment is on the rise, the one eyed idiot has destroyed out Country but still giving billions away to corrupt third world African states and we’ve got a corrupt EU. The BBC decides a retiring DJ should be story No1.

And before Wogan there was Jimmy Young.

Both of them nice blokes,  intelligent and entertaining, never offensive.

    OBIT

Sir Terry goes the way of all celebrity flesh and departs this mortal broadcast coil.

As ususal the BBC replaces class with ass.

I give it 45 days before Chris Evans says something so outrageous live on air that forces a humiliating suspension.

I probably won’t be tuning in to Radio 2 now that Sir Terry has gone.  I’ve recently discovered a local station, Coast FM that suits my needs when driving to work.  I particulary enjoyed the subtle pops Sir Terry used to sometimes make at climate change humbug.

I will miss Sir Terry.  Chris Evans, Jonathan Ross et al grate on me after a short while, forcing me to change channels.  In spite of everything that has happened previously, Ross I find can still be quite smutty – not good when young daughter is in the car with me.

The BBC continues its slow but sure death…
