Compare and contrast the following headlines today:
Daily Telegraph: Long-term unemployment highest since 1997
The Times: Number of people on the dole hits 13-year high
Guardian: Unemployment claimant count rises again
ITN: Long-term jobless total soars
BBC: UK unemployment falls for second month in a row
Saving Gordoom….it’s what we do.
Hat-tip: Regular Biased-BBC contributor Robin Greer
I have just seen the poster above and was going to post the link. All Seeing Eye beat me to it. You certainly live up to your name.

And a slight (!) difference in the reporting of the E.U.’s denial of Greece’s voting power.
1.)’Telegraph’ report:
“Greece loses EU voting power in blow to sovereignty”
“The European Union has shown its righteous wrath by stripping Greece of its vote at a crucial meeting next month, the worst humiliation ever suffered by an EU member state. ”
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/financetopics/financialcrisis/7252288/Greece-loses-EU-voting-power-in-blow-to-sovereignty.html
2.) The pro-EU BBC report:
“Greece told to make more spending cuts”

And will pro-Labour BBC report this?:-
“Labour uses Cabinet tour to rally party for Election”

Bloomberg: U.K. Unemployment Claims Jump to Highest Since 1997
FT: Jobless claimant count reaches 13-year high
WSJ: U.K. Unemployment Jumps
Last week the BBC were the only media outlet that I read (about 6-7) that did not mention why retail sales were the worst for 15 years.
The likes of The Times, with a report < 1/3rd the length, mentioned it was since records began. The BBC intentionally left this factoid out, and didn’t even add “at least” before the “15 years”. Of course 15 years is a convenient time period for the BBC since readers will think “since the last Tory government”, not the correct “since records began”.

Talk about ROFL – just heard Humphreys on Today interviewing a worryingly woolly (the pattern for a Cameron Govt ?) William Hague, with Humphreys claiming that the British default position is to treat Israel with kid gloves. If only…….

And Toady continues with its policy of running interferance for labour , giving a platform for milionaire socialist ‘ no proles on our country estate, thank you very much’, hilarity benn, to mouth off about the failed hunting act.
Shame they wont spend the same time asking him about his many failures as Defra minister !

Seems to me that if the Tories win the election they are perfectly entitled to hold a vote on hunting. Isn’t that democracy? Unlike the Labour/BBC mafia at least they are being upfront about it.

The BBC are really upset that the Daily Mail wasn’t held to account for the Gately story. So we have to have a phone in about it. Prepare for an hour of anti Mail anti Tory pro gay propaganda.

Well, if the hat-tip was meant for the person who pointed this out in yesterday’s comments section, I’d like to make it known that I’m not Robin Greer.

The BBC headline is ridiculous. I have written to the Managing Editor of BBC Online to ask how such an intepretation could be reached. I’m not holding my breath but if I get a response I will share it here.

Even the Mirror headlines its report on the unemployment figues shown here http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/top-stories/2010/02/18/dole-up-to-a-13-year-high-115875-22051071/ as
Unemployment up to a 13-year high
The Mirror, not one to hide its support for the shysters in office, thus proves more upfront about these figures than the “impartial” taxpayer-funded BBC.

The UK’s net debt is now £848.5bn, equal to 59.9% of the country’s annual output – the highest proportion for a January since the 1974 financial year.
The figures will raise fears that the UK is facing a public debt crisis of the sort suffered by Greece.
Jonathan Loynes, an economist at Capital Economics, said that extrapolating the figures for the rest of the year would see the UK budget deficit head close to 13%: Greece’s deficit for 2009 was 12.7%.

Oh well, though we may not be in the Euro zone, but sharia finance will come to our rescue (or not).

How convenient that on a bad news day for McLabour the BBC manage to drive the agenda by getting a tool like Winterton to make a total prat of himself on Radio 5.
Unemployment going the wrong way, borrowing up again and Europe going down the pan.
