See the BBC is bigging up the rich culture of communist hell hole Cuba. Matt Frei is there to highlight how ballet is the route from poverty to Covent Garden. I suppose the BBC’s love of the Castrol tyranny is understandable given the political sympathies of so many of the BBC luvvies. They love Castro like we love life.
CUBAN DELIGHT

To be fair, I haven’t followed diligently all of the BBC’s coverage on Cuba in the last couple of days. However, I am pretty sure it buried as much as it could the death by starvation of dissident Orlando Zapata Tamayo (homework: compare and contrast its treatment of Bobby Sands, Binyam Mohamed et al.).
Instead, it has been giving ample space to Cuba’s “health miracle” and to the way it allegedly supports poor people to become classical dancers (that’s all right then…).
You can only bear so much of this stuff before you get so disgusted you have to turn channel. Not a word about the dictatorship trying to stop people attending this poor man’s funeral. Truly truly shameful.

I wonder how the BBC reconciles Cuban cigars with Labour’s war on smoking

Typical BBC to focus on boys doing ballet (I’m sure every male beeboid would just loved to have been a ballerina). Funny I always thought boys in Cuba wanted to be boxers or play Baseball in the USA?

We were treated to the views of a Cuban government minister called Josefina. She isn’t elected to her post and there is no evidence that her views are representative of anyone but herself and the communist party of Cuba. So why did the BBC see fit to ask her for her opinions?

Ha! I remember the classic Peter Sellers film “I’m all right jack” Communist malcontent shop steward and idiot Fred Kite (Sellers)
“Ah Russia, all them cornfields and ballet in the evening”
Ballet was a communist cliche in 1959
(unrelated link but very funny)

This BBC News propaganda for ‘Communist’ Cuba avoids referring to the ELITES in Cuba, in the Communist Party, in the military, in education, etc.
