I too would be pretty angry if, for example, the BBC used a photo of mine without permission. Therefore, in the interests of reserving my right to occupy the high moral ground and go apeshit in similar circumstances, I’ve replaced the picture with a link. Further to my earlier post pointing out that The Now Show will be on three nights a week during the election campaign, I see that two of the regular cast – Marcus Brigstocke and Mitch Benn (along with other members of the BBC’s left-wing comedy establishment) – are in Brighton tonight (via Twitter)

I guess the chances of hearing a Brigstocke rant or Mitch Benn song taking the piss out of the Green Party on Radio 4 are pretty low, then.
Update Sunday Feb 28. Response from Mitch Benn in the comments. He doesn’t endorse Lucas or the Green Party, but he supports them because they’re not the BNP. And Marcus speaks truth to power. Something like that.

The moment Chris Titty snapped the photo of that poster he was in breach of copyright. If you took a photo of a sculpture in a park, you too would be in breach of copyright. Yeah, it’s insane I know, but then so was your entire defence. Legal insanity cuts both ways.
Most people, who aren’t like Chris Titty and actually OWN the work that’s been photographed, wouldn’t think of suing. But there are plenty of warped artistic souls that would.
If anyone is in breach of copyright here it’s Chris Titty. If anyone should be handing out threats and insults it’s those who own the copyright on the poster. You cannot break the law and then accuse someone of copyright infringement for duplicating your law breaking.
Seriously, if you think I’m wrong go look it up. This whole thing has got incredibly tiresome and we’re trying to create pointless logic out of this fat-heads romanticizing of his own self-importance.
