The battle of El Alamein was a turning point in World War II but the unexploded munitions it left behind continue to kill and maim the local population, as Christian Fraser reports from Egypt.

Christian Fraser has been fed a plea for cash because the Germans and Italians haven’t been daft enough to fall for it. The BBC swallows the whole thing in one gulp. If only the other side in those battles had a self-loathing media as naive as ours then they too could enjoy journalism of this standard.

I note that the BBC reporter is Mr. Christian Fraser (who hails from Blackburn); he is based in Cairo where he rarely reports on the frequent persecution of Christians by Egyptian government and Muslim groups.
“The bravery of the thousands of Commonwealth, Italian and German soldiers, who fell far from home will forever be remembered in the tranquil cemeteries and mausoleums built along the coast.”
So no mention of “British” here. No brave British at this battle then.

So he blames the “British” not the brave “commenwealth soldiers”.
You only have to read this rubbish once to see that it is based on left wing revisonist history, where only the word “British” is used negatively yet all the other nations who were present at this battle are excused any blame (if there is any blame).
The BBC should be forced to remove the first B from their title. Their aim seems to be to denigrate the Bristish at any opportunity.
And I love the international oil companies being “rewarded with considerable finds”. Nothing about those companies investing considerable sums of money in exploration. And why on earth can’t Egypt after 68 years have got round to clearing all the mines in its country to ensure the safety of its citizens? No expectations of any responsibility there!

The BBC must have promotional contracts with every compensation grubbing ambulance chashing lawyer in town.
Some ambulance chaser needs his compo claims advertising so they go to the BBC for free advertising, I suppose that as long as it attacks British history and our national achievements the BBC are on board faster than you can say three billion quid.
The left are determined to revise history to the point that our nation becomes the nazi bad guys and everyone else are the good guys, well everyone without a white skin of course. The art of destroying our pride in our history has been perfected by the ‘deconstructionista’ elements now infesting our BBC.
A nation that knows its historical story AND is proud of that historical story is anathema to the leftists, the art of taking away our shared pride in our history is an essential element of destroying the UK as a sovereign nation.

I suppose the BBC in their gleeful haste to attack British history somehow miss the irony that if it were not for the British laying down their lives in that desert the nazi empire would have gained access to all the oil it required to dominate the entire world, the nazis would have certainly won the war.
If the nazi empire had won that war and then went on to dominate the world there would be no brown people left anywhere, having exterminated the Jews the nazis would have turned their attentions to ridding the world of brown and black people everywhere.
In fact the struggle in that patch of sand between Egypt and Libya actually determined the fate of the world. The British nation effectively destroyed and broke itself preventing the extermination of a goodly part of humanity by the nazi vermin, put simply the British actually saved the world.
That patch of wasteland and all the blood of our bravest people that soaked into it was perhaps the most important battlefield in the fight against the black nazi monster.

Absurd. The vast majority of mines laid in the summer and autumn of 1942 in that area were Axis.
Rommel chose to lay a “devils garden” of mines in order to offset German inferority in armour and infantry numbers.
The mine that injured the unfortunate 11 year old sounds like a German schumine, a nasty can shaped thing designed for causing just this kind of injury.
Revisionist, guilt ridden claptrap. And not a shred of evidence that it was an allied mine.
