The BBC are not great fans of India, much preferring Pakistan. Why? Pakistan is a Muslim country, indeed it’s full title is the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, whereas India is a multi-faith country. Post 1947 partition, Pakistan became all but a a Hindu free Country, with any remaining non-Muslims subject to harsh traetment form their fellow citizens. Contrastingly, India became a multi-faith country with Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs and others living in relative peace. Whilst the BBC love to concentrate on the negative aspects of Indian life, they give a freeer ride to Pakistan. The differnces in th way the BBC treat India & Pakistan is reminiscent of the harder contrast in the ways they treat Israel and it’s Islamic neighbours.
Yes, India is an amazing country of 1.2 billion people, and a natural ally.
Pakistan is a basket case which exports the usual suspects to places like the UK.
Wake me up when we start getting Hindu inspired terrorism on the streets of the UK.
Olympics = investing in a depressed area, regeneration, good
Commonwealth Games = stealing money earmarked for the poor, bad things
There are more Muslims in India than in Pakistan. And more Christians than Sikhs.
Pakistan’s problem is that it is not India.
But it could be argued that it was India politicians who created the mess; grasping for power over a continent that is by nature disunited.
The BBC, like many of the Left media such as the Guardian or the Independent, function on the given that the more dysfunctional a group or nation is, the more it should be shielded from scrutiny and criticism, when compared with others. On that MO, one begins to understand that Pakistan will a get far more favourable press then India, or Arab Muslims (specially Palestinians), in relation to Israel.
The same system applies to Black African dysfunctional states in comparison to…. well almost everybody.
The BBC hate the Commonwealth and everything to do with the British Empire, simple as that.
