GOVE JIHAD

Michael Gove is a man the BBC does not like and this was evident this morning than on this item on his plans to enable parents and/or teachers to set up their own free schools. It’s a slanted report, aimed at telling just how awful it is and how those hateful middle-classes will simply take this over for their own wretched children. Oh dear – it’s the Nasty Party serenade that the BBC is singing.

The grief I had when Govey announced his academies bill from the NUT was utterly mental. They treated it like Dunblane or something (bad example, perhaps) just for having the audacity to allow school governors & head-teachers the ability to opt out of Local Authority monopoly service provision.

Gadzooks – won’t somebody theeenk of thee cheeeldren! Needless to say they never once mentioned that kiddies grades may improve; oh no, irrelevant.

As far I’m concerned Gove can fight his own battles against BBC bias following his decision to give Schama oversight on the history curriculum.

Funny that the BBC isn’t with those single mother 44K a year widows on their child’s education but they are with her child benefit. Why is that Nick Robinson?

I think the lefties are terrified that the schools will lead to selection by ability. The fact that Gove has ruled this out is quite absurd and illogical. Good schools thrive on bright children. It will come of course when we face reality and realise that this is the only answer if we are to compete with the Chinese, Indians, Vietnamese, Koreans, Japanese  and South Americans plus others. We are being left behind and living off our reputation.
This is yet another example of the disconnection from reality of our “elites” which will turn us into Europe’s paupers in a generation.

Yes. They want more than equality of opportunity:  they want equality of outcome.  If they can’t control the curriculum and business of all schools, they can’t control the outcome.

How very, very true.  Modern England makes me what to cringe.  Everything we taught the world we need to learn back from them.  You can’t have idiotic people who hate their own country running the education system.

I ABSOLUTELY support selection by academic ability but the leftist media has managed  to use the ratchet principle to stop the Conservatives for standing UP for this simple yet essential requirement.

The Conservative Party has simply bottled out.  Gove’s a great guy, but he has betrayed a fundamental conservative principle of educational excellence to appease the Marxist Left – a fat lot of good its done him!
