From bang to rights pol in the spotlight, to defensive ‘journalist’ forgetting there is now an internet, in a world of weasel phrases that one is a beaut.
Translation: ‘Oh… heck. But I can’t admit that. And am too dumb to keep schtum but too bent to ‘fess up.’
As all the luvvies cannot quite get the cojones up to call another out in a porkie directly, it will be fun to see how this festival of insinuation plays out.
BBC lawyers, fire up your unique licence fee billing gouges.

Too close, as the preceding thread has highlighted, to a certain episode of convenient ‘watertight oversight’ vis a vis Mr. Assange.
Suggest more of the form, ‘Kitten-Eating Child Kidnapper’, or similar.
At Aunty, there is probably a whole (if inept) department, all on £80kpa +perk & pension each, just to identify such awkward connections and head off. Or if already out there, stealth edit.
As one of the commentors says at AM ’emerging truth’ might just be the perfect euphamism for what the BBC’s reporting.
And, as one of the commenters on the eureferendum blog (I think), in homage to Reagan – ‘the 14 most dangerous words in the English language : I’m from the BBC and I am here to make a documentary about you’!
