POURING OIL ON THE FLAMES

This was such an important post from Pounce on the Open Thread that it deserved a main post all of its own. Thank you Pounce.

Questions are currently being asked about why a British designer is anti-Semitic and how did he become so polarised. Well with News articles like this from the bBC it isn’t hard in which to find fault with the Jews:
Row over Israel gas reserve tax

The above link takes you to a video link where Iranian ‘Mohammad Manzarpour’ who used to be a Human Resources manager in Tehran opines over how Israel has changed its tax system towards oil companies from one of tax breaks to one of paying Tax (to around 50%) on their profits. Yet while the title states American companies they interview..Jewish companies. (That’s because only 1 American Oil company (Noble) is involved in the drilling of Oil.)

Now I’m all for diversity but come on bBC get somebody whom I can bloody understand. Call me ugly, call me a bigot but the fact remains I want to hear somebody speaking English which I can understand. Instead you allow somebody who sounds like a window licker to air a very biased report about how bad Israel is for upping its tax on Oil companies which isn’t how the same tax rate taken against US Oil companies elsewhere are reported:
Venezuela
Bolivia
UK
Funny how the champions of liberty in those countries can do likewise and the bBC doesn’t bat an eyelid.

Then there’s the clip in the end where the allegation is made that actually the new gas fields found off Israel actually belong to Lebanon and that Israel (backed up by showing a picture of an Israeli gunboat) is prepared to back up its theft of oil by force. Where actually the Oil fields if looked at on a map are well away from Lebanon, Egypt and Turkey who have all stated it belongs to them. But ref that Israel claim about going to war in which to protect its claim what the bBC doesn’t state is it was made in reply to this statement from Hezb-allah:
Hezbollah’s Executive Council head Hashem Safieddine said the militant Islamist group would not allow Israel to pillage what it considers Lebanese natural gas, Haaretz reported. “Lebanon’s need for the resistance has doubled today in light of Israeli threats to steal Lebanon’s oil wealth.”

And here another snippet Mohammed of the bBC doesn’t want you to know:
“Maps from Noble Energy show Leviathan within Israel’s waters. An official with Norway’s Petroleum Geo-Services, which is surveying gas fields in Lebanese waters, told The Associated Press that from Noble’s reports there is no reason to think Leviathan extends into Lebanon”
Yet again another non story from the bBC in which to slate how Israel is taxing Oil firms, on that note when was the last time you saw the bBC champion BP, Shell or even Exxon? But when they are sparing against Israel they can only be victims.

And we all wonder why the British are becoming polarised against Jews. Years of character assassination from the bBC has ensured that Jews can only be evil while in the mirror universe they inhabit Islam is promoted as a religion of peace.

Just to add a couple of things about Mohammad Manzarpour of the BBC Persian service. His Facebook account shows that he “likes” Che Guevara. More significantly, he also added his name to an anti-war petition, along with Galloway, Benn, Pinter et al, protesting about possible US/UK action against Iran.

(On the company he worked for as a Human Resources manager, Atieh Bahar Consulting, this article from the Progressive American-Iranian Committee alleges very close links to the Iranian regime).

Well as we have heard from a BBC employee on this very site that they have an awful lot of it’s pension tied up in oil firms and  as Mr Gregory pointed out it would be wrong for them to paint a story that helps a BBC employees funding stream just like they don’t do with the greening investments [lol] except where Israel is concerned then all bets are off !

‘Abandon principles all ye who enter here’ should be emblazoned above White City. It must be a little bit complicated living in BBC land where tax = good except when it’s those nasty Joooos.

OT – but Andrew Marr this morning was perhaps the dullest piece of shit ever. Sure, we expect a gaggle of lefties drivelling nonsense but with a slight nod towards, yer know, current affairs. Not today – dispense with any notions towards controversial issues of the day and just go a full on circle jerk about how Blighty has been so wrong for so long.

Back on topic – not sure the Galliano thing can be put down to much – the lad was clearly mullered and one would kind of suspect that getting disgracefully drunk is quite a timid activity for the lad as fashionistas are known for their love of all things narcotic. It’s really quite amusing that his rant was to people who weren’t even Jewish! Now that’s a proper prick – I have much to learn from this one!!

In the context of overall BBC coverage of Israel, this type of piece is going to fire all the right neurons in passive BBC viewers brains.

It’s truly horrifying the amount of people who view Israelis as baby killers based on the way the BBC covers news about Israel.

There is another issue that seems to have escaped the BBC’s attention. Perhaps they are all still in Tahrir square?

Egyptian company won’t restore gas to Israel It’s an Egyptian Gas for Israel Is it incompetence? Is it a quiet boycott? Did the explosion really cut off supplies? Don’t know. Should the question be relevant to the BBC? Yes!

Anyone who is interested in the BBC’s bias against Israel must check out Daphne Anson’s blog. She frequently posts articles which focus on the BBC. On the current page for example, as well as video from the BBC College of Journalism there are some fetching images of Jeremy Bowen.

The report clearly states that the Israeli actions are in-line with those taken by other countries and are endorsed by the IMF and OECD. Backed up by an interview with Omer Moav of the Hebrew University.

<And we all wonder why the British are becoming polarised against Jews.>

To call this report “very biased” or anti-Israel or even more bizarrely anti-Jewish is ludicrous.

Or was that just an excuse to launch into a series of ad-homs about the reporter who … wait for it… signed an anti-war petition?

      What a monster.

No biggie for you Dez maybe, but a biggie for the BBC whose editorial guidelines this clearly breeches:

Even if they are not identified as a BBC staff member, editorial staff and staff in politically sensitive areas should not be seen to support any political party or cause.

          Not true.

If you look at the “anti-war petition” site, you will see that Mohammad Manzarpour added his name in 2006.

He started working for the BBC in 2009.

So actually, no editorial guidelines have been broken. Which, regardless, has no actual bearing on the validity of Manzarpour’s report.

Dez, do you work for the bBC? I mean come on, first thing Monday morning and you feel you have to correct the presumed inaccuracies presented by myself against the bBC.

Anyway in reply to your post, you question my claim that while the bBC headlines with American Oil companies they only interview Jewish companies. You wrote:
The interview was with the chairman of Delek Energy; part of the consortium which is lead by Noble (U.S.).

Good point, but tell us all is Delek Energy an American company or god forbid an Israeli one? Lets put this another way If the bBC joins with an American company to make a TV series, is the bBC now an American company and before you answer bBC America is purely a TV channel which airs mainly British programs.
    As for this:
“Israel Petroleum Company” (which despite the name is owned by Canadian and U.S. companies) also have off-shore drilling rights.

In which you claim, that actually there are more than one American Oil company involved. You do know that the IPC only bought the rights to drill  by buying Shaldieli, Ltd in Oct of last year. As of yet they haven’t done anything, why they even inform you that they are looking to start drilling for Oil in the third quarter of this year. That means September at the earliest. Now isn’t this story about how Israel has upped the tax on Oil profits. If so how can insert IPC when it has only just bought the rights to look for Oil in 2 fields. Here don’t take my word for it, here is their website which explains all.

To recap only 1 American company as of today has found Oil, and Delek Energy is Israeli.

    Please feel free to respond.

Really? Tell me in the interest of balance why did Mohammed only mention the Lebanese claim to the new Oil fields and not the Egyptian and Turkish claims? Could it be that in adding those claims people would see how lubricious those claims are. But in only airing the Lebanese views well then there’s more scope in which to dirty the image of Israel
    .
Also why did he mention the Israeli reply of fighting over the Oil fields and not the Hezballah claim that they are willing to go to war over the so called theft of oil. A claim I should add made by Hezbollah’s Executive Council head Hashem Safieddine  before the one by Uzi Landau.  A fact reinforced by showing a film clip of  Sa-ar 4.5 gunboat (Just for the info last months Janes ran a nice article on the ECM industry based in Israel complete with pictures of the Sa-ar 4.5)
If Mohammed at the bBC had mentioned both sides of the story in clear understandable english, I wouldn’t have had a bee in my bonnet. As for making Ad hominem remarks I did say call me Ugly and a bigot at the start. I didn’t refer to him by the c word and then laugh about it. Something I hear is quite common over there at the bBC.

My entire post was and is about how the steady drip dripping of negative Israeli posts from the bBC has slowly polarised the British into hating the jews  for the acts of a few people in Israel which even i find disgusting. However there are more Muslims around the world doing a lot worse and all I hear from the bBC is Islam is a religion of peace, not all Muslims are terrorists and that we should listen to their side of the argument. In otherwords they try to excuse the inexcusable.

Again please feel free to reply.

    Pounce,

I also had difficulty understanding that shmuck. The BBC usually sticks to high standards regarding clarity of speech of its broadcasters. But I’ve noticed before that it will drop those standards when there’s some juicy propagandising to do.

Doesn’t look like Dez is up to the challenge, but I’ll give it a try.

    Dez,

You might have noticed that the only reasonable attempt to ascertain the Israeli govt. point of view is only a few seconds of that clip. Typical BBC pretense at balance. If you can’t recognise this as an anti-Israel hatchet job, then you wont be able to recognise any other hatchet jobs from the BBC.

Yeah but what is with the strong focus on Israel by some here? It reminds me very much of American politics. Most Brits, even on the righht, weren’t that interested in the topic a few years ago. I hope it isn’t a major trend, I wouldn’t like to end up like the US where focus on Israel and Palestine is a major part of domestic politics.
