A reasonable subject, but could it be prompted by the opportunity to use the Millipede phrase “the squeezed middle”? One of the comments enquires as to whether Jane Thynne works for the BBC a point which is somehow missing from the post. The reply says.
“Jane Thynne is a freelancer. She started her career at the BBC but has not been on staff for a long time. Jane occasionally contributes to Radio 4 programmes. There’s more info on her website.”
