Stage Performer Maitlis just now talking with LibDem Lord Newby about this newly suggested scheme to give free shares of RBS/Lloyds directly to the public. It will supposedly bypass the usual fees-earning middle men and give money (well, shares, which are assets with value) directly to the taxpayer who paid for the bailout.
The first line of attack from Maitlis was that this is “too complicated to work, isn’t it?” This was easily dismissed by Newby. But that was just a feint, as the real BBC point came when Maitlis interrupted Newby explaining how this was giving money back to the taxpayer.
Sure, protested Maitlis, this is acting as if it’s all about “fairness”, but why should the Treasury get all the money? The Treasury needs the money and should get it all.
How typical. It’s not the taxpayers’ money but the State’s, according to Maitlis and the BBC News producer who prepared the segment for her. No, BBC, taxes come from the taxpayers. It’s their money, not merely a privelege the State allows them to have from time to time.

Nuclear power plants anounced: BBC-lights out-greenies’, make their propaganda.
On this announcement, ‘BBC-lights out greenies’ seize their usual anti-nuclear propaganda chance to turn this ‘report’ into space for their political chums, ‘Stop New Nuclear’ and ‘Friends of the Earth’:
“New UK nuclear plant sites named”

Award-winning Beeboid Matt Frei jumps ship to C4, high-profile Beeboid Laura Kuenssberg defects to ITV, and now the BBC claims BSkyB will be doing the news for them, eh? Curious.
Yet another awful gaffe from the highly-tuned brain of The Obamessiah that the BBC won’t be laughing at or telling you about: He confused a live Medal of Honor recipient with a dead one – while talking to dead soldier’s unit.
The President addressing the 10th Mountain Division today at Fort Drum:
“First time I saw 10th Mountain Division, you guys were in southern Iraq. When I went back to visit Afghanistan, you guys were the first ones there. I had the great honor of seeing some of you because a comrade of yours, Jared Monti, was the first person who I was able to award the Medal of Honor to who actually came back and wasn’t receiving it posthumously.”
As we all know, SSG Sal Giunta, of the 173rd Airborne, was the first living recipient (2011) of the MOH who fought in Iraq/Afganistan. SFC Jared Monti, 10th Mountain Division, was KIA in Afghanistan in 2006. He was posthumously awarded the MOH by Obama in 2009.
The utter contempt the President and His team have for the military never ceases to amaze me. There’s no excuse for this one.
It wasn’t like the wrong number of states gaffe which suggests he dreamed his way through civics class or the box set of 25 classic American films gaffe which suggests he sent his secretary to Wal-Mart to pick up something at the last moment or the continue the speech gaffe which suggests inexperience in social events at an international level.
Perhaps even worse than the others in a real sense. Someone in his team fed him this information. No one expectes the POTUS to know everything about everything but we do expect him to be properly briefed and have his remarks vetted for accuracy before delivering them. He awarded the Medal of Honour to both men and was relying on memory.
There’s a big homosexual marriage fight going on in New York at the moment, as well as noise in other states. The President made a big, important speech about it last night in an attempt to shore up His sagging numbers amongst homosexual voters who have been seriously disappointed in Him for not doing enough besides pushing to get rid of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell”. I don’t know why any homosexual thought The Obamessiah was going to be particularly friendly to their various causes, seeing as how he went to a very socially conservative black church (the African-American community has one of the highest percentages of anti-homosexual sentiment in the country), and said outright during the election campaign that He supported only civil unions for homosexuals. But He wasn’t a hated white Christian, so they expected He would give them everything they ever dreamed of, and that they wouldn’t be just another casualty thrown under the bus.
Of course it turns out that He’s been dithering on that just like everything else (not that the BBC has dared inform you about any of that). In His speech last night, He danced around the issue of homosexual marriage, but was in the end slippery enough not to say anything anyone could pin Him down on. He never said He supported homosexual marriage.
He’s been the target of criticism from the homosexual community almost as soon as He took office, and for good reason. In fact at one point His Administration sued to protect the Defense of Marriage Act, contrary to what he promised as a candidate. In any case, the homosexuals were not pleased with His dithering last night, and some even dared to heckle Him.
Yesterday evening while banished to the garage to do some unavoidable chore, I was half-listening to Radio 4 at half past six. There was a panel making up silly games for themselves and the audience to play. At the end, one of the panel members, Josie something, threw in a “joke”.
This was it:
What’s white and stops you working? Answer: David Cameron.
I don’t know what that had to do with the fun and games and maybe I missed some sort of political jibe at a Labour politician…but then again, probably not.
Right on cue. BBC News 24 has a speed dial leftie rent a gob to tell us there is absolutely nothing wrong with the justice system. Introduced as John Cooper QC a civil rights lawyer – a quick shuftie at his web site tells me he has been a Labour local councilor, stood for the Labour Party in general elections. Anti-fox hunting campaigner. He has written for Sandi Toksvig, etc etc….
Radio Five Live has just had Paul Mendelle on defending the way the Dowlers were treated. It was Mandelle who tried to convince a jury that the mother of murdered toddler Baby P was a doting parent who fell in love with the wrong man. He’s from the same chambers as John Cooper. Clearly the BBC’s go-to firm for lefty rentagob lawyers.
As I see it,
Cooper was on Channel 4 News as well. To be fair he did look a little bit contrite, but still seemed to believe the Justice system is fair between defendants and victims and their families. But then he would say that, wouldn’t he ?
Fair point Dez. The BBC generally limit their bikini-clad celebs to their dumbed down trashy TV programmes rather than their dumbed down trashy website, but we still have to pay for this BBC garbage whether we want it or not, just to own a TV.
As I mentioned on the previous page of this thread, the BBC is censoring all news of The Obamessiah’s latest slap in the face of homosexuals. They demand homosexual marriage rights, and He keeps dithering and bobbing and weaving at a Clintonian level. One would have expected the BBC to find a moment among the celebrity gossip, Michelle Obama encomia, and the arrest of some most-wanted thug (Why does anyone outside the US need to know about the latter story? Please don’t tell me the Beeboids think they’re a legitimate news source for people who live in the US.) to tell you about a national issue which He promised to deal with during the election and is the reason most homosexuals voted for Him. But they remain silent.
President Barack Obama did not reverse course and endorse the right of gay couples to marry during a high-profile LGBT fundraising event Thursday night.
He expressed support for the idea that the state of New York should have the power to codify marriage for same-sex couples. But he did not personally endorse the pending New York bill — which is nearing passage in the statehouse — or same-sex marriage itself.
The crowd of 600-plus attendees didn’t jeer Obama’s caution … that much. Rather, cordial applause and a shared sense of accomplishment seemed to be the order of the night at the Sheraton Hotel in midtown Manhattan.
Obama is, objectively, the most influential president LGBT citizens have ever had. And while his administration has experienced no shortage of LGBT-related tensions — whether in private meetings or from activists handcuffed to the White House gates — Thursday night was spent discussing past accomplishments and hinting at future breakthroughs.
And now for the funniest bit:
“Yes we have more work today. Yes we have more progress to make. Yes I expect continued impatience with me on occasion,” said the president. “With your help, if you keep up the fight, if you will devote your time and your energies to this campaign one more time, I promise you we will write another chapter in that story.”
“We are going to lead a new generation to a brighter future,” he concluded. “And I will be standing there right there with you.”
Translation: Shut up, you bunch of @#$@#ies. You know you’re going to vote for me anyway. I promise next time I’ll do it the way you like it. Promise.
If the HuffPo prints it, you know the Beeboids know about it. There is no excuse for this censorship of a US President shirking responsibility on equal rights for all. There was a time when the BBC admitted that He opposed homosexual marriage, and they gave Him a pass then, too. So it’s not like they don’t know it’s a problem for Him, and that this kind of clash was inevitable.
So how about doing your damn jobs and reporting on major US issues, BBC? Like I keep saying, they’re not worth the money and can easily be replaced by a news aggregator.
