DO AS I SAY…

North of the border, the BBC is also very busy breaching its own guidelines;

“A BBC Scotland radio presenter is facing claims he breached the corporation’s guidelines on advertising after appearing in an STV advert for the Glasgow Science Centre.
Colin Kelly, who fronts an early morning news show on Radio Scotland, appeared in an advertisement for the Science Centre which is being shown on STV this week. The presenter is also facing questions after a news item calling for an inquiry into structural problems at the centre was missing from his show.

The centre has been beset with problems relating to the rotating tower mechanism and was closed for repair work last August, the company running the Science Centre now believes that the attraction will be closed at least until August next year. More than £9m of public money was invested in the 127 metre tall Rotating Tower at the Centre on the banks of the Clyde opposite Pacific Quay, headquarters of BBC Scotland.”

    David, as bad as this is … you should take a look at a onetime compatriot of yours Lesley Riddoch.
    Everything that’s wrong with the BBC and British society is encasulated by her. She was ashamed to be a protestant in Nothern Ireland, even though she grew up there. Claims to be more Scoth than the Scottish even though she was born in England.
    Spent most of her life suckling on the teat of the state, bemoaning every privatisation that ever happened in Britain. Blamed Thach and Thatcherites for the destruction of her Brigadoon.
    But for some reason saw nothing wrong in trying to privatise the production of her BBC radio Scotland show for the beneifit of herself.
    Maybe her soul recognised the absurd waste of public money every time the BBC made a program compared to the private sector.

    Don’t take my word for it read her blog http://www.lesleyriddoch.com and her oh so private blog for ‘personal musings’ http://www.lesleyriddoch.co.uk.
    Nowadays she pretends not to be a scot nat , even though she worked for them after they got in to government. Loves wave power, even though her production company just happens to work for a wave power company. And writes newspaper coloumn after newspaper coloumn for the Scotsman, without declaring an interest in that said industry, every time.  She’sthe type of person who  would be at the front of the queue when the Times didnt introduce every story about SKY without saying their parent company was owned by them.
    ….you get the idea …imagine John Humperys without the any proper form of supervision or control….then you have Lesley Riddoch… about the third of the intelect and a fifth of the talent.
    And if you want a real look into the looking glass, listen to some of the podcasts her and half man/ half 80’s right on lesbo husband make.
    … guess whoes got the balls in that relationship.

    Only yesterday David Shukman appeared in an advertisement for a wind turbine firm, in the guise of a news broadcast.  But it was on the BBC News channel, so doesn’t legally count.  Even though it was nothing more than an ad.
