All I have to say on the matter.
It’s a poster produced by the NUJ and other broadcasting unions about changes to BBC pensions rather than making a general point. We even went on strike over the issue which did improve the initial offer. In the end though, like everyone else, we’ll be paying in more, getting out less and retiring later.
Time for the Unions to wake up. My pension was robbed by a demented one eyed Scottish halfwit.

More seriously one of the problems with the BBC pension is the pension “holiday” the BBC itself took back when times were good. In the long term you can trace many problems back to this decision.
As I understand it the government actually introduced legislation which lead the BBC to stop it’s contributions for several years because some private sector companies were basically stuffing their pension funds as a way of being more tax efficient.
Playing devil’s advocate I think you could argue it’s all the fault of greedy private companies rather than the public sector on that one.

I have no sympathy, as someone who contributes every penny myself to my private pension which was robbed blind by the one-eyed Scottish lunatic Brown, and who through my taxes and licence fee pays for YOUR pension too, I say to you TOUGH SHIT!
I may not ever reach retirement age, let alone enjoy a decent pension. The public sector enjoy better wages, better terms and conditions, better redundancy protection, better pensions and less stressful work where results are optional, they do not face competitive pressures at all.
It is time those in the public sector woke up and realised that their former employers, the labour government, wasted all the money, caused a massive recession and they are NOT immune to it!
We private sector employees have been losing sleep since the labour and bank created crash first started in late 2007 and got worse in 2008. Meanwhile, our taxes have been increasingly stolen to mollycoddle the public sector and protect them from the folly of Brown’s incompetence, at our expense!
If you do not like your pensions or terms and conditions, leave and get a job in the private sector and a private pension!
I do not see hordes of public sector workers doing that, so I guess you all know you have it cushy!

But unlike everyone else you will only have to pay a tiny 3% more for a guaranteed taxpayer funded rate and you will still take the state pension no doubt ,receive all pay rises the NUJ get for you and all for for a couple of more years work!

Exactly right and it would be in their interests to shut up. Private pensions ( Ihave a very small one) are not funded by the taxpayer.
We all fund state employee pensions and they know it.
A period of quiet would be in their own interests before the rest of us get really annoyed.
I don’t even know why we have public sector pensions, the Government doesn’t for the most part put any real money in, it all gets spent on normal spending.
The obvious answer is to end all punblic sector pensions for new starters and make them take out a private one, that way if some halfwit from Scotland with one eye tries to rob them again hell be pissing off his own voter base this time.
