IS IT COS I AIN’T WHITE?

In the BBC world, the murder of Stephen Lawrence may well have been the most important killing in the last one hundred years since it “proved” all that “institutional racism” that they lie in bed dreaming about each night. This morning, we were treated to the wisdom of Stephen Lawrence’s best friend Duwayne Brooks “a man whose life since has been defined by what happened that evening. He was the only witness to the murder.” I was amazed at the introduction by Montague’s in which she states that Brooks has been interviewed by Police on many occasions but was innocent “on most of them”? WHAT? Duwayne was presented as the proverbial victim but he is now a Lib-Dem Councillor and thus a conduit of al that is good. Listen to the interview if you dare and make sure you have a bucket handy.

Strikes me he’s the perfect poster boy for the BBC. That could even be their new slogan: The BBC – mostly not biased.

So, the fact that he, shouted and swore at the cops who arrived and interfered when they tried to administer first aid, lied in court, said he delayed calling 999 because he ‘hated the cops’ has all been airbrushed away now…. Who needs Goebbels when we have the Beeb?
The fact he is being taken on as a Lib Dem councillor says the world for their selection programme, and their common sense in general.

PS. Listen carefully at 4:35 to the agreed, setup question with the written answer.

It sounded very much like Mr Brooks knew the questions in advance and was reading from a script.

This doesn’t lessen the horror of the murder, of course, but the whole thing seemed a little too contrived.

Blimey, I even heard him turn the page.

What… on earth… is the BBC playing at?

This is not news, or interviewing. It is pure social aganda-pushing PR using media-spun sympathetic tlaking heads to spout their narrative.

Not saying what was said was unreasonable, but come on.

Was the studio a polar bear burrow in a zoo?

WikiThe way Brooks has been ‘protected’ since , leads me to suspect he became an informant: he is obviously racist and (was) anti police, he was into drug dealing, had knife crime record (which back then wasn’t as common as it is now!) and assualt charges. Oh to know what really happened that night. Do you know there is still a key female witness who has never made a statement…I am starting to get a conspiracy feel aboput this (see below):

    Wiki 4/01/12
“In February 1999, officers who were investigating the handling of the initial inquiry revealed that a woman had telephoned detectives three times within the first few days after the killing.[13]

In 2004, the police stated: “The witness who appeared on the right of the scene and walked into Rochester Way with Stephen and Duwayne behind is very important to us. We know who this witness is, she knows who she is, we know what she knows. She has never made a statement. This witnessmay have been the catalyst for the attack.”…”

    HOWEVER: Wiki 05/01/12

“In February 1999, officers investigating the handling of the initial inquiry revealed that a woman who might have been a vital witness had telephoned detectives three times within the first few days after the killing, and appealed for her to contact them again.[24]

That is a major edit…and 50% of the referneces are BBC, as are nearly all the links at the botom…curiouser and curiouser…

And-on The World At One, we get the news that Neville Lawrence has now got “closure”.
Apparently Neville has returned to jazz dancing-hold the front page!

As ever, this in no way belittles the tragedy of losing a son…but the BBCs ongoing and perpetual efforts to use his son are pretty galling and contemptible.

Maybe the BBC munchkins down in the bowels of the BBC might try and rustle up another souffle that doesn`t use Lawrence, Leveson or global warming as the only ingredients.

LJ now , that! , should be the focus of that interview not some coat-tail riders abuse of his 5seconds of (in)fame, from what has become a grotesque media driven political circus.
Their are many many victims in that particular area deserving help and justice … they won t get that, or “teams” of solicitors to enable it.

“a man whose life since has been defined by what happened that evening.”

And who, pray tell, has defined his life for him?

“In nearly every case, the charges were dropped.” So that’s alright, then. Is it the BBC’s job to rehabilitate reputations like this?

I can certainly sympathize with the man for suffering over watching his friend killed and the criminals getting away with it forever, but that doesn’t absolve him of anything else he may have done on his own.

But the agenda behind this segment is pretty obvious: Stephen Lawrence wasn’t the only victim. The murder had many victims, and society is one of them, blah, blah. Nice use of tragedy to advance an agenda.

    Duwayne Brooks:

September 16 1999 Arrested and charged with attempted rape and indecent assault. Originally refused bail by police and court. Finally bailed on September 29 on condition he resided in Birmingham. At his committal hearing on November 5 police announced they had dropped the charge of attempted rape. Yesterday an Old Bailey judge threw out the case as an abuse of process.

August 17 1999 Arrested in Peckham, south London, for taking and driving away a car and threatening behaviour. Taken to Peckham police station and bailed until August 6, when police notified him that they were taking no further action.

July 4 1999 Stopped by police in in his car, which was searched. A photocopying tool was found (he works as a photocopying engineer). Police alleged it was an offensive weapon and charged him with possession of a bladed article. They also found credit cards and chequebooks in the car and he was arrested for handling stolen goods. He was bailed to appear before Tower Bridge magistrates. The case was discontinued on August 3.

July 8 1998 Stopped under the Prevention of Terrorism Act in the City of London. Searched and arrested for possession of a knife and theft of a credit card. Bailed from the police station and when he returned on August 4 was charged with possession of an offensive weapon. The action was discontinued in September after his employer confirmed the knife was part of his work toolkit.

May 27 1998 Police requested an interview about an allegation of kidnapping at Catford station. He was bailed until July 23 when police announced that they were taking no further action.

October 1993 Surrendered voluntarily to Bexleyheath police station, where he was charged under section 2 of the Criminal Justice Act, relating to an allegation of violent disorder. Eventually the proceedings were stayed on December 13 1994 after the judge ruled an abuse of process. The judge had invited the CPS to discontinue the case earlier, but it refused to do so.

    What a CV.
If he isn`t Mayor of London with this record to run on, I`ll be surprised!
I imagine Dianne Abbott will have bundles of votes available once George Galloway has had them counted and sorted.

I hate to say this, but the “My site (click to edit)” post seems to provide corroboration for the “police harrassment” charge.

What crimes (if any) has he been convicted of?

I agree he sounded like a complete toerag, he was guilty of inexplicable behaviour while supposedly trying to help his friend, and the latter part of his interview was obviously scripted (you can hear the pages being turned over!) but we need to provide evidence. otherwise the trolls will pounce and discredit more legitimate grievances

It’s the amount of charges dropped that I find most intriguing though.
I could understand one, possibly two.
