Thanks to the BBC’s wonderful new policy of NOT linking the various items it runs on the Today programme (Well, you never know who might be listening), you will need to go to listen again and tune in to the 7.33am spot to hear an outrageously biased Humphrys interview involving Baroness Tonge and Conservative MP Robert Halfon. Tonge’s notorious views on Israel are a matter of record and yet Humphrys was easy on her and tough on Halfon. It amazes me the gentle ride that Tonge gets – it’s as IF her views resonate within the corridors of Broadcasting House. Surely not

Thanks to my not listening to the Today programme any more, for the sake of my blood pressure, I missed this but will Listen Again later. The thought that strikes me is ‘if only there was a report into the BBC’s coverage of Israel that would let us know that whether the BBC was biased’ – if only………
The Balen report, commisioned about five years ago, by the BBC to investigate it’s own bias regarding reporting of the Middle East was prevented from being published for public debate by the BBC at the cost of several hundreds of thousands of pounds of tax payers money.
The Courts eventually ruled that the BBC was acting illegally, but with more money the BBC again managed to wiggle out of their culpability!

One of the nastiest lies that Tonge comes out with is to claim that at its birth, Israel, instead of cooperating with the “Palestinians” and sharing with them tried to eliminate them.
She obviously hasn’t read The Declaration of Establishment of the State of Israel:

This online article about it is equally weighted between the charges against Tongue and her defense. Except for the fact that the BBC decided not to provide the context out of which Tongue claimed her remarks were taken. Curious.
There’s a difference between criticizing Israel and declaring it shouldn’t exist. What happened to the two-state solution, BBC? Curtain lifting ever so slightly?
The “Liberal Friends of Palestine” said she is due an apology from the leadership. Craziness is obviously catching in the anti-Zionist camp.
Jenny Tonge is the hideous gargolye on the Beeb flotilla of peace and nice things…the one that stays in dry dock but exhorts the lower orders to set sail for Israel…as opposed to where they`re actually needed, like Syria…but the BBC/Labour wouldn`t dare risk a cameraman ond prefectly good recording facilities on Assads willingness to negotiate…must be that Arab culture to respect…and the Jews made him do it guv!
