A quick poll for some feedback on the next step. We can start a live streamed chat over Skype or actual phone-in for the blog, but before making the next move I’d like to find out if enough people are interested to make it worthwhile, and time slots where enough people can listen or even be available to call in. It would all be available on demand afterwards.

Any additional suggestions/comments are most welcome. Thank you!
Bring back the chance to leave comments via Twitter/blogger etc logins? More of a question than a suggestion.

Good idea, Billy. I’ve now installed a plugin to do this but I have to configure each 3rd party link individually and register APIs one by one so it might take some time.
You’ll see the relevant icons appear as I get to them over the next few hours.

See you later tonight 🙂

Social media logins are done now. I don’t have accounts with all of them so if any don’t work then someone will have to let me know.

I wish there was some way of forming a pressure group that could actively campaign to get rid of the licence fee and/or insure strict impartiality at the BBC.
Are there enough contributers to BBBC who would be interested in starting a lobbying group? If so any suggestions? This is a great website but are they listening to us? Need to take the debate to them and raise public awareness of the issue.

Agree 100%. The BBC’s influence on the public mind is way beyond the pale.
We need a political heavyweight to front us and wider audience to push through changes/abolition that is required.

I think trying to Skype on a weekly basis might be the wrong way to go, I’d welcome the facility for when Aunty really do overstep the mark…

For this stuff, I figure Skype would be audio only anyway. Full video chat is a further step for later, Id say. If I can get a regular phone line to feed into the streaming software, we can do both for however anyone wants to call in.

Given the actually overwhelming amount of bias that oozes from the state broadcaster I think that some method of collating and displaying the evidence by subject area and frequency would be useful. Perhaps a graphing gadget which mirrors the BBC’s own subject classification?
Although having said that, some of the programs that find their way into the “factual” category on iPlayer beggar belief….
I find the time / trends graph in extended search on Google to be a very enlightening tool ….

Is a simpler comment formatting system available (similar to what we had on Blogspot)? Some simple means of embedding pictures and video?
For now, some instructions on how to do it, would help.

Why not host a meeting, or series pp
of meetings. (I live in the North West)? The situation with the BBC is that serious for informed debate in this country that you should get a good turnout.
Best regards.

Fwiw – I notice a number of PCs and Laptops come with Skype already installed or with the installation file on the desk top – for anyone sceptical all this new fangled technology, Skype is a great little gadget. I’m not a fan of installing anything I don’t have to on my pc but I tried it, my pc is still working, my head hasn’t fallen off and I get to talk to my mates all round the world for free – whoopieeeeee :D.
I’ll look forward to listening to the ranting that goes on but if you have it after QT, I suspect it will need a chairman after Dumblebum has got everyone’s blood boiling.
I think I will sit in the background and leave the discussion to the grown ups. It sounds like a great idea though. Good luck. I can’t wait.

It would be good to have election night threads along the lines of question time. People would be able to log in and comment as the the night goes on with their reactions to the results.
I appreciate that this would take some time to set up but we have council elections this week along with the mayoral election for London.
