SITE UPDATE….

I know we’ve all been having problem getting access to the site in recent days but I think it’s all been fixed now so loading should be easier. My thanks to ASE and my apologies to all who have grown frustrated trying to get onto the site! I assure you that your  frustration is as nothing compared to mine!

Ironically enough the long time loading seems to be when a new post (post, not comment) is being published on the site.

    • Sir Arthur Strebe-Grebling says:

The news report http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-19074557 doesn’t mention who is involved, of course, but leaves a few clues. It says that 50 local authorities in England are bringing in policies to tackle the problem. These 50 include all 33 in London and 12 in the West Midlands, with another five councils in West Yorkshire expected to sign up soon.

The cycle goes on. Marriage to close relatives (usually first cousins) produces a high proportion of children with genetic defects, including mental deficiencies. Then some of them are forced to marry (probably other close relatives). And so on.

Elder of Zion is describing the short picture essay about Ramadan in Gaza, with images of the well stocked food markets in the old quarter, as a BBC own goal.

Unfortunately it still appears that the comment threads (but not the postings) from the “old” site are no longer accessible – at least from my computer. Are they now permanently lost?

I’m still finding the site really slow – sometimes it doesn’t load at all, and occasionally I’ve attempted to post comments which never appear, and which, when I try to repost, I’m told that I’ve “already said that” by a friendly piece of text. So I tend to give up…

Maybe it’s because I am in France.
