DOUBLE NON THINK

BBC still in denial about Muslim Brotherhood?

Here is their take on the MB’s double dealing……

‘The protests began in Egypt, before spreading to many Muslim countries. But despite the views of many commentators, they were not provoked by Egypt’s new Muslim Brotherhood government.

er…but……

President Mohammed Mursi’s critics in the West say he also urged protests, which is true. American commentators point out that he has been saying one thing to Washington, and quite another to his own domestic audience.

But the truth is he was caught in the middle, between the need to respond to the popular mood in his own country, and the need to maintain good relations with the United States and the West.’

Something he has learnt from BBC world ‘native’ correspondents?  One thing in English, another in Arabic.

Also interested to hear the BBC view of Syrian jets over Aleppo….apparently they are ‘a nerve shredding experience that has been going on for weeks.’

I expect that’s a similar experience to that of Israelis who suffered, and continue to suffer, a bombardment of thousands of rockets over, not weeks, but decades.

And just as an aside the Syrians are getting pretty hacked off that ‘Muslims’ seem to care more about a film than about Syrians being slaughtered:

Syrians wonder why Muslims aren’t rioting over them

Bashar Al-Assad @AssadPresident

Wow! Good thing I just bombed mosques, killed women and children and I didn’t make an anti-Muslim video! People would be after me!!

Abdullah Aldahhan @SyrianSmurf

I am in no way condoning the attack on the US embassy. But it seems there is more uproar over that than the ~33,000 martyrs in . :/

The BBC’s Jeremy Bowen is holding a question and answer session on Twitter this afternoon between 4pm and 5pm.

Is the BBC’s Middle East editor somewhat stacking the deck by deciding to take questions live on Twitter on Rosh Hashonah one of the holiest days in the Jewish calendar? Rosh Hashonah is a day when all religious Jews and most not that religious Jews will be in synagogue and not looking at Twitter or the BBC website.

Either Jeremy Bowen doesn’t know that today is Rosh Hashonah, being more concerned with Muslim/Arab affairs and religion than Jewish/Israeli matters, or this was a deliberate move to avoid receiving hard questions. Whatever the reason it is a fine example of the lack of sensitivity to Israel and Jews regularly shown by Jeremy Bowen and the BBC.

Remember this is the same Jeremy Bowen who the Editorial Standards Committee of the BBC Trust published a report into three complaints about in April 2009. The complaints included 24 allegations of breaching BBC guidelines on accuracy and impartiality of which three were fully or partially upheld.

If you think that I am being over-sensitive and that the chosen date doesn’t matter or is a coincidence. Ask yourself if you think that Jeremy Bowen would have held a similar exercise during Ramadan?

On Yom Kippur (the holiest day in the Jewish calendar) in 1973 the armies of Egypt & Syria with support from elsewhere attacked Israel, deliberately choosing the day when they hoped Israel’s defences would be at their weakest. Is Jeremy Bowen simply following anti-Israel tradition?

I have blogged this here, asked the question on the BBC webpage here and will be complaining shortly…

    • Is there any point in sending in questions to JB.? They will be selected for their pro – Pal. content. Any dissenting or difficult question will be culled. However, I believe in the god of lost causes, so will submit a question.

Or maybe St Jude, who is the Patron Saint of Lost Causes? If you do manage to get a question through to JB, ask him if he has secretly converted to islam and /or if he regularly attends prayers in a local mosque.

Of course they know. I don’t think they deliberately chose today to do this, it’s just the timing of, as the saying goes, “events, dear boy, events”. But it’s obvious that the BBC simply doesn’t care that most Jewish voices will be unable to participate. That’s probably a nice happy accident for them.

I’m not in shul today, obviously. My answer to the question, “Are you an observant Jew?” is “I observe from a distance.”

I don’t have a Twitter account so can’t ask Bowen the one question I’d love to:

“Do you still think the Muslim Brotherhood is moderate and non-violent?” and include this link.

in islam everyones a victim, and syrians are muslim are they not?.
in their warped world view – just who? gets to ride 1st class on the “victim “train? … theres a lot of competition
😀 … ah the joys of the “offence” industry

i note, that the “nose growing champions” of MB media must be in a quandry, because this film has even less to do with anything than did the Danish cartoons, an attention seeking pastor, with more family than congregation, or the schoolteacher’s teddy bear or, a south park parody, or Winnie-the-Pooh’s Piglet or decorative swirls on Burger King ice-cream tubs, or any of the other innumerable grievances of Islam.
the latest …. i kid you not … anti islamic moustaches! 😀
hey … maybe to the “fibbers extraordinaire” of islam …
who knows, “you literally couldn t make it up” is a challenge not irony .

ps . i m pleased that al bbcs ahem “news”?? debate, on R5live, has managed to sidestep this for a fifth day.
they must be running out of lines … can t the”occupy” guys turn up somewheres? … dale farm?

The sheer hypocrisy of Islam has no better illustration than the riots over the burned Korans.

During the Iraq insurgency Muslims were blowing each others’ mosques to smithereens on a daily basis. I’m sure one or two pages got singed then, but don’t recall a single ‘protest’ as a result.

Can someone explain to me why the BBC and their left-wing friends want to destroy a civilisation that gave them all they have.
If Islam ever took over they would end up like the Left did during the Iranian revolution.

If the BBC are so keen to go in and remove Assad, why don’t we give them a compass and a map and they can do it themselves. No, they rather see British and American soldiers losing their lives to fight a Islamic war that IS NOT OUR FIGHT! The BBC are a disgrace!

Bacon said that the NY Times is a good source for “balanced” reporting on the US election. Oh, please.

Now Mardell and Bacon both agree that the President is enjoying a nice post-convention bounce in the polls. Mardell still expects the President will win. I guess this is Bacon’s chance to talk about the conventions, even though he’s a week late. Bacon is happy to speculate on what will happen to the Republican Party when they lose, after four years of the Tea Party momentum plus a bad economy. Mardell suggests the Tea Party types will dump the social issues – which is exactly what the Tea Party movement tried to do. Hello? Is Mardell really that prejudiced against the Tea Partiers that he still doesn’t believe what people told him to his face?

Most shockingly, Mardell admits there are tons of illegal Hispanics in the US, but sees no problem with it.

Wow! -Ms Alibhai-Brown, so long a misguided advocate of Islam, appears to begin to see some elements of the truth about her ‘religion of ‘peace’, which INBBC cannot:-

[Opening extract to her ‘Independent’ piece]:-

“It’s more or less over for progressive, liberal Islam. Many of us who’ve tried to keep alive the thoughtful, humane, cultured beliefs and practices of our parents and enlightened scholars can barely breathe or speak after the last wretched week when benighted mobs raved and killed across Muslim countries – some of them newly free and supposedly democratic. The Arab Spring turned to vicious winter and dashed naïve expectations and hopes. Casting out dictators does not necessarily bring wisdom, responsibility and self-control. Embassies were damaged, Western diplomatic staff killed and terrorised, flags burnt.
Once, we could say with some certainty that Islamicist fanatics, thugs, killers and mind-benders represented a minority and that most Muslims, quiet and sane were unseen and unheard. Today, I fear it is the opposite.”

I can’t quite believe I’m saying this but…it would be interesting if Gavin Esler’s ‘Dateline’ invited her (as the programme so often does) onto the programme to comment on this!

I’ve been asking that very question today:
“Why is it the whole Islamic world can protest at the drop of a hat about a pervert who died 1600 years, yet remain silent on over 20,000 people getting murdered this past year in Syria. They had no problem protesting before the US invaded Iraq in 2003, and have no problem protesting in Trafalgar square about Nasty old Israel. Funny enough the bBC hasn’t bothered its arse to report on the Islamic protest outside the US embassy in London on Friday or yesterday. Yet when it comes to other protests in London the bBC not only gives you advance warning (What, where, when?) it always comes out with an inflated figure of how many took aprt. Yet for the weekend…Nothing.
Gee I wonder why the bBC continues to push this view that Muslims are a religion of peace,

I find it amusing, and very sad, that these Mohammedan protesters and the religious leaders who inspire them seem to value human lives the same way the BBC does: depending on who kills them.
