Half The Story All The Time

Not seen any corrective to the BBC’s big Arctic ice melt story…even  though Reuters is running with it:

(Via Bishop Hill)

NASA finally admits it Arctic cyclone in August ‘broke up’ and ‘wreaked havoc’ on sea ice — Reuters reports Arctic storm played ‘key role’ in ice reduction

In a September 18 video posted by NASA on its website, they admit that the Arctic cyclone, which began on August 5, “wreaked havoc on the Arctic sea ice cover” by “breaking up sea ice.”

Global warming activists have been giddy in their hyping of the satellite era record low Arctic sea ice extent while ignoring the satellite era record sea ice expansion in the Antarctic.

Many climate activists have sought to downplay the significance that the Arctic cyclone played on this year’s summer sea ice in the Arctic. But this new inconvenient video report from NASA now makes the warmists’ attempt to deny the cyclones role in 2012’s Arctic sea ice conditions — impossible.

Thanks for posting this story, Alan. It’s important that people know the actual facts, rather than the fabric of disinformation the pro-CAGW BBC insists in passing off as ‘factual reporting’. The truth is, the BBC will never correct their willfully misleading story regarding this year’s Arctic summer melt – sadly for us (the plebs), the actual facts do not coincide with the BBC’s CAGW agenda and therefore, in the finest Orwellian tradition, the facts will be airbrushed out of existence and the BBC’s version of events permitted to stand.

This is, after all how the great CAGW scandal is enabled and permitted to continue promoting disinformation and pointless fear-mongering. My advice to any BBBC readers with even a passing interest in how the BBC continues to distort and under-report the facts on CAGW is to seek your climate news from much more reputable sources such as WattsUpWithThat? and Climate Depot – and, of course, the excellent Jo Nova, once her site is back up and running again (after yet another hacking from disgruntled warmist vandals). For all the UK energy and climate news that the BBC won’t report check out Nigel Lawson’s fantastic Global Warming Policy Foundation – daily news updates with a UK-slant. Happy reading!

Find myself in the Book of Amos, and noting that this has all been seen and done before.
Wonder if any of the Archbishop of Canterbury types would have seen it…or is he the bloke from Emmerdale way back?
Oh look here`s Giles Fraser-again…holding Robert Piggotts hand…again!

This lunchtime someone was glibly on about climate change and “global warming” causing more severe weather, hence the current floods in the UK from the “30 year” storm.

They spin this, and spin it until any semblance of truth is completely wrung out of it.

There is no global warming, and even if there was it wouldn’t be caused by whatever level of CO2 was in the atmosphere, and anyway, severe weather is more likely to be a direct result of a cooling atmosphere.

Instead of Davey and co running around like headless chickens because some Tory MPs are beginning to question the obviously suspect green policies, maybe he should be looking for a way of co-existing with a naturally changing climate, rather than wasting time, money and resources in a futile attempt to change it some more.

We should be looking at ways to stay warm and dry, without slaughtering the economy attempting to stop the climate doing what it’s been doing for billennia.

I’m shocked, shocked to learn that there’s censorship going on in this establishment.

Everyone should forward this to their MP or to any sympathetic bloggers and media people you can think of.

‘if he didn’t get the statement for me, I’d publish anyway. He described this as “reprehensible”
Now, not being a news studio veteran and all, like some, I’d have to wonder how the BBC and its various inquisitors would respond if someone they were holding to account by asking a few legitimate questions, responded in this manner at the mere suggestion of being quoted?
All rather redolent of every communication from the BBC that tries to scare you into thinking that any exchanges you may have with them can be stuck on the loo walls at Salford their end, but you are required to keep ‘their little secret’ to yourself.
Good on Mr. Helmer for showing them up for the two-faced types they are, and also telling them to stick it where the sun can’t power a 1w lightbulb.

The mention of NASA brought to mind wee Webb the Lettuce and his hopeless piece from Cape Canaveral this morning on the ToadyShow.
Apparently it was a bad thing was NASA when it could possiby have been doing anything military, and was employing bullet headed hideously white US Males.
But -under Obamas benevolent Flag of Many Colours-it may yet be re-invented as something that could restructure cancer proteins(no, don`t ask-no context whatsoever!)-and would certainly NOT be the preserve of shaven headed ex-military types in crisp white shirts,,no siree…young, diverse youth groups are the future of NASA…and wee Justin smiles benignly on the scene to come.
And the ozone layer chokes to the emissions of this man…and his plane!…oh Lordy…

When the arctic ice was the LARGEST in the 30 year record for the date, back in March, where were the BBC reports warning of an impending ice age?
