I wonder if anyone else shared my misfortune and watched Question Time last night? I thought it was a remarkably biased edition, focusing on matters American. The BBC’s Obama cheerleading came through with an outstandingly skewed panel and audience. Did you see it? Thoughts? Was it fair and balanced?
MOST BIASED QUESTION TIME EVER?
Bookmark the permalink.
I watched to halfway through the first question, It was disgusting Jerry Springer would not allow a contrary opinion he was loud It seemed that only the woman (American) was reasonable and quite good but the Chairman and the audiance and the panel seemed to be against the lone republican. The BBC doesn’t care anymore.

I lasted slightly longer – to the end of the first question – but when I heard the huge applause for Jerry Springer’s oration I knew what we were in for.
I understand that in America the polls, according to the BBC, are neck and neck, I expect Jim Dandy’s explanation for the UK polls gives the BBC their excuse.

The lefty liberal elite love the penitent pornographer, the victorious voyeur.
Bazelguette is our smug cross to bear…and Springer has done very well from BBC rights to that charming opera he gets named in…and Stewart Lee does rather well out of that too-and HE works for the BBC.
“Chain reaction” eh?…but it`s not polite to mention money when our US Renaissance Man has stopped stalking trailer trash for his stories.
It won`t end well beeboids…I give you Jimmy Savile for a warning!

Biased? Utterly boring more like. Realized Where Eagles Dare was on and spent a far more entertaining time with Broadsword calling Danny Boy. The US election really does not deserve the coverage.

Odd ai it you left a republican being abused and battered on the BBC and turned to an evil commercial channel to watch as a republican helps the British kill loads of our European fellows ?

Last night’s Question Time was a new low for the Biased Broadcasting Corporation, even by their usual p*sspoor standards of fake ‘impartiality’. Right from the off, from the very first question being read out, the audience was clearly a heavily pro-Obama crowd.
David Dimbleby lost any remaining respect I might still have had for him (admittedly, not much, but one still quaintly persists in a misplaced faith that the man might yet retain some degree of journalistic integrity); he must have been in on the sham ‘impartiality’ of the programme and yet he still happily went along with it. What a disaster – for him and for us.
David Milliband, smug, belligerent and hectoring, merely used the entire programme, uninterrupted by Dimbles, as one long rehearsal platform for his inevitable Labour leadership bid, whilst Jerry Springer (*facepalm.jpg*) used the programme (again, untroubled by Dimbles) as some kind of strange trans-Atlantic phone-in, by which he could declare his undying, uncritical, unquestioning love for all things Barry.
Last night’s edition of QT underlined one distressing fact above all others: The BBC made it perfectly clear on last night’s QT that they do not intend, ever, to live up to their legal duties to provide ‘balance’ and ‘impartiality’ to their audience. This could not have been plainer had it been spelled-out in huge ten-foot letters across the QT stage. This was little more than a blatant pro-Obama political broadcast. Dimbleby should hang his head in abject shame.
The BBC itself stands disgraced by it’s own conspicuous bias. It’s a scandal that this deceitful, unashamedly partisan broadcaster is somehow allowed to retain its public service broadcasting permit. How is this allowed to go on?

Much in the same way as Israel “funded Leila Khaled”….or the travelling community (in top hats and crinolines) “funded” Dick Turpin.
Imagine that?…”travellers” that didn`t need Vanessa Redgrave or Phil Shiner to sponge off ad nauseum!

About the 4th or 5th time his has happened (a couple of QTs and other programmes; as a Blair clone they clearly wish he was leader)

A you gov poll yesterday showed that 86% of conservative voters in the uk back Obama; it’s 96% for other voters.
I don’t watch QT because it is the worst kind of glib political garbage. But this would explain the audience bias.
That said, the panel looks unnecessarily skewed to the left.

“A you gov poll yesterday showed that 86% of conservative voters in the uk back Obama; it’s 96% for other voters.”
Considering the BBC has consistently presented us with a deluge of pro-Democrat anti-Republican propaganda for decades, should we really be surprised that it has had this odd effect on otherwise Conservative voters?
Should we not expect the support for Barry to be more in line with British public opinion on other political matters?
No. Because as usaul the BBC has cast the Republican candidate as a pantomime villain.

I’m probably like most people in the UK in that I don’t know enough about US politics to make an informed decision. My wish that Romney win is based purely on the gnashing of teeth that would go on in lefty and BBC* circles.
That 86% of conservative voters would support Obama says everything about the propaganda that’s been dripped out by the BBC (and most of the media, to be fair) over the past 5 years.
*didn’t need to add “BBC”, did I? It was already covered by “lefty”.

Jim, can you post a link, I simply don’t believe that poll and want to investigate. Most Conservatives I know are well read and like to know about international news so even if there were a majority (which I doubt) it most certainly wouldn’t be anywhere NEAR 86%.

I agree with Jim. Actually, the BBC has said that the reason they do all that careful audience vetting is to make sure the result resembles the demographics of the place hosting the show that week. In this case, of course London is going to be overwhelmingly pro-Democrat with an assortment of other far-Left loonies (like that young woman who was afraid Romney was going to steal her lady parts).
I don’t really see a problem with this, except that this leaves the BBC open to charges of capriciousness when it comes to selecting who gets in. They did allow in two guys with a clue, though, and Dimbleby even called on them. That’s probably over-representing the non-Left in certain parts of London.
Even the panel was “balanced” to BBC specifications: 3 Left vs. 2 Right. I’m sure it’s a total coincidence that the representative of the US Left (Springer) was much better known to British audiences thanks to a certain BBC-celebrated musical work, and was far more glib and accustomed to public speaking and working a crowd than their choice to represent the Right. Total coincidence, I’m sure.

I missed the first 20 minutes due to The Valleys being on MTV at the same time… Caught the rest of it …. Shami as usual diverting all topics into a platform for her favourite and only subject human rights…. Jerry Springer surprised me as I was expecting him to call her out on the Palestinian issue due to his Jewish heritage and also couldn`t believe he is pro Obama considering the way he has destablised the Middle East and blamed Isreal just for existing… No mention as usual about what happened in 1948 when the Arabs rejected the UN partition plan… I do wonder however what the BBC will do if Obama loses the election… Also how thier cheerleading for the Democrats is going to sit with Romney and co… Also what effect the BBCs` pro Obama rhetoric might have with regards to our relations with the possible new administration… Afterall many from other countries actually take into account the BBCs` policies as they are under the false illusion that the British Broadcasting Corporation represents the people who pay for it`s funding…..

Not all Jews are obsessed with Israel and make it their top priority above all else all the time.

I know all Jews are not interested in Isreal David…. However, Jerry Springer featured in another BBC TV programme called “Who Do You Think You Are” about three years ago… Most of his immediate family were killed in Aushwitz and Bergen Belsen. However, towards the end of the episode it became apparent that some of his cousins had survived and one of them flew over from Isreal after surviving the deathcamps and the last ten minutes basically showed Jerry Springer breaking down and weeping as he realised how much the Jews and his own family had endured becouse of the Nazis. His new found relative explained why he now lived in Isreal and Springer told him that he understood fully the importance of a Jewish homeland being established and its` role in offering all Jews a degree of safety and security… Look it up, I am sure the entire episode is on utube or bbc iplayer…. if not I`ll find you a link…. So my point in commenting on Springers` reaction or lack of, to the Palestinian question had a point…. being how he knowingly support anti Isreali rhetoric given the circumstances surrounding his own origin and the dire effects it could have for the few last surviving relatives he still had….

I could only watch to about halfway having to quickly turn over when that angry Liberty leader, who wants back at society for some reason, started to preach morality and holiness. The audience was packed with lefties who clapped at anything Miliband said. Obama love was everywhere at the BBC yesterday.

Yes. I noticed the camera on Springer whenever a mildly pro Romney point was made. Is this show actually rehearsed? That is, do the key speakers get a chance to coordinate their statements in the presence of comrade Dimb?

Audience woman : I think regardless of who the Democratic candidate was, it would be a real disappointment as from a woman’s perspective for Mitt Romney to be elected.
Audience claps and roars approval.
Dimbleby: Briefly, why do you think that?
Audience woman: His policies towards abortion..
Coleen Graffy :What are those? What are those policies?
Oh no. She hesitates. She doesn’t know. She starts, but not to worry – help is on its way.
Audience woman: Erm, there was….
Dimbleby: You may well ask. Nobody’s is quite clear.
Springer: They change, they change every day.

I note that David Milband was on AGAIN last night-just as he was the last trime the QT episode homed in on America( 10 years since 9/11 of last Sept).
Tell me-has he been on, between these two episodes?…or has the BBC decided that, because Hilary Clinton liked Miliband Major, he gets to speak on behalf of Labour to CNN/NYT using the BBC to do so-oh, and we can pay for it!
Are we to be pathetically grateful that we were spared Bonnie Greer?…it`s not enough you Savile sprinklers!

No-as soon as I saw the panel, I knew what would be coming.
The Republican lady reminded me of the US Ambassador in that notorious 9/11 episode of Q.T.
The Right both sides of the Atlantic needs to link up-we all know what the BBC and CNN etc are up, these days.
Milibands crap about Israel ensured I baled out…what an ignoramus!…and all that applause?…Lord, the screened Beeb theatre fillers are the very scum of the nation.
I`ll bet a pound to a dollar that Springer wasn`t asked
a) How much he made out of that evil “opera” that the BBC chose to force us to pay for-and is he still getting money for it from the taxpayer?
b) How dare Springer spout on about the Blessed Obama when Springer himself has pimped off the casualties of the liberal administrations he benefits from…all that trailer trash oand junkies are Carters people and the spawn of Clinton…and Springers efforts to re-invent himself as a Renaissance man( when all he is is Kyle, Bazelguette and Desmond rolled into one smug bouffanted package) is obvious.
I pray to Romneys God as far as I`m able to that he sends the liberal elite into years of despair this coming Tuesday.
Come on God!

I really cannot wait to see how the BBC frame Obama’s defeat on Tuesday. Racism? Sheer stupidity at not realising the glories of socialism that await them? who knows…

Racism, and we’re blind fools who don’t deserve Him, unable to grasp all He’s done for us. Oh, and the polarizing Right Wing Media did it to us.
Sadly, I don’t think Romney will win, so we won’t have to hear the excuses and will instead see the kind of jubilation second only to that witnessed at Broadcasting House in 1997.

Romney’s going to win. Watch. For someone who rails against the BBC’s bias, you seem to be drawing your conclusion from the leftist propaganda peddled by the US Ministry of Truth, who make the BBC’s bias look like a pi*s take.

The first question was ‘As a US citizen, I voted for Obama in 2008, optimistic about his mandate for hope and change. The reality has been very different. Does he deserve another 4 years?’
The audience were supportive of Obama because that is the overwhelming opinon in the UK. I love the circular logic though that this is all down to the BBC.
Maybe most people just don’t agree with you?

We`d best not let you write the “Referendum Question” that Alex Salmond would like!
You see ,sir, this is what in marketing psychology would be what is called a “leading question”…and that it is the FIRST one of the evening would be said to “set the tone” for much of what would follow.
Not that the BBC are in any way sanguine or objective about what THEY want Americans to vote for.
No-it`s not all down to the BBC….maybe you might hazard a guess about what % of it IS, though?
The BBC will know alright….if you can explain why a hurricane can be used to get Obama in, why Fast and Furious or the death of the Libyan Ambassador and team are NOT known this side of the pond….then you`ll have a point, IMHO.

I very much enjoyed last night’s Question Time, but that’s only because I had a £10 bet on that even in an hour long special edition purportedly about the US elections and with Europe and wind farms also to get stuck into they would nevertheless find time for a question about Eton and the Bullingdon Club. Ker-ching!

How about a “Bullshit Bingo” card for election night USA then?
Could do quite nicely out of it, given the utter predictability and grinding Gramsci shite that “our BBC” seems to think we`re unaware of!
Wonder how they managed to clone all those preening Rolan Bolans in elfin top hats to give us the same f***in soundtrack about the “Children of the Revolution” , not being fooled…”NO WAY!”
Maybe not-but they`re padded, paedoed fools, nonetheless!
Thank you Sir James!

I did not watch QT last night, I saw the line up, groaned, and decided to catch up on some of the excellent BBC programmes I have recorded. I recommend Alistair Sooke, Treasures of Rome and How the Devil got his Horns, if like me you have an interest in history. His delivery is fast paced and informative, with few time wasting drawn out scenes; certainly no repetitive shots of white haired old lady on a bicycle riding around Rome (Mary Beard) or helicopters hovering above a mountain top while below Brian Cox-e-v-e-r –s-o –s-low-l-y says something about a distant Galaxy-while I am wondering how the hell he ever got up there, why and how much of the licence fee it costs to hire a helicopter for this stunt!
Anyway, back to not watching QT. I see that Chakrabarti was on again! I am just waiting for her and Liberty to take up the cudgels on behalf of Nick Griffin and the BNP and take the BBC, the police and CPS to court for abusing his Human Rights by making an undercover film which was used to prosecute him for comments about child abuse by, mostly, Pakistani Muslims in Rochdale and elsewhere, which have proved to be right.
This week on R4 at 9.45am there has been an excellent programme about the mass starvation of millions of Chinese under Communist rule, despite the fact that there were silos full of grain but with dead peasants on the roads. Anyone who dared to try and tell the truth would find themselves prosecuted and probably executed, as the out of touch higher officials were fed sanitised accounts of suffering and lies.
Not quite there yet!

Spot on re the “Book of the Week” at 9.45.
First time, Maos deliberate starvation of his people from 1958-1961 has been given such a format, as far as i know.
The Communist/Socialist dream well smashed, but there again the BBC won`t be listening when it truly matters.
From the joys of this story to Womans Hour…really makes you sick, when you think what the BBC could be like…still 15 minutes/day of truth is 15 mins more than usual.

Wathing the show now, I’m quite enjoying it, don’t see the bias yet.

They probably will, partly based on the BBC trying to airbrush from history their overspending which has led to the current economic difficulties (and partly on the general uselessness of the Tories).
Not with 86% of the vote though, I’ll grant you. Enough UK voters have seen at first hand what Labour really do, as opposed to what the BBC tell them, to keep it lower here. Whereas there’s little first hand experience of what Obama has actually done across the pond, just glowing reports of His Magnificence.
Still, as Span Ows has pointed out, that 86% figure is in itself pretty suspect given [insert your dictator here] never claimed that much support.
