SANITISING HATRED..

Have a read of THIS BBC report on Gaza. Note how it suggests that Hamas terrorist-in-chief Khaled Meshaal has been “exiled.”  No he hasn’t. He chose to leg it when Israel dispatched his predecessor Sheikh Ahmed Yassin for an early meeting with the 72 virgins. This vile thug, driven by an almost demonic hatred of Israel, is afforded the “Arafat” treatment, sanitised of the terror and murder he presides over, and painted as a victim of those evil Jews. When it comes to all matters Hamastan, the BBC could NOT be more biased.

‘A replica of a Hamas rocket will be centre-stage for Saturday’s rally in Gaza City’
If they are hoping to maintain the ‘just a few fireworks’ meme vs. the IDF’s counters, that honking great V2 may not have been the best backdrop.

That doesn’t seem to reflect the facts. He fled the West Bank in 67.

prole, you ought to be telling that to the BBC as well. Self-exiled, perhaps. “Exiled”, full stop, is a false description of the proceedings.

Or should DV be flattered that you hold him to a higher standard of journalism than you do the BBC?

What is trollish about pointing out a fact? The word “troll” gets flung around like “islamophobe”.

Let’s try not to devalue the meaning of words.

DP gave an excellent rejoinder to this statement of fact.

The BBC haven`t signed his forms for him to come here yet have they?
Probably no more one-eyed in his analysis that Bowen and Hari in a two legged race though.

Reading this BBC article today one would think that the person being lauded in the article was a Nobel prize winner instead of a foul terrorist, although the BBC do make sure to put the line in near the bottom, almost as an aside: ‘Israel, the US and the EU consider Hamas a terrorist organisation’.

Skipped over almost as something to celebrate is the statement by Meshaal that “I consider this moment my third birth, and I pray to God that my fourth birth will be the moment when all of Palestine is liberated.” One could almost overlook that he’s referring to the elimination of Israel and the death of its citizens, the BBC certainly does.

In the side-piece by Yolande Knell she writes, clearly caught up in the ‘celebrations’:’We stood on a street corner with a welcoming committee waving green flags as the Hamas leader drove by in a convoy.’

Was she waving flags as well, or just standing by the group that was. I know what the BBC will claim if challenged, but the double entendre is no accident methinks.

Contrast this relationship with Hamas terrorists by the BBC with this one described by BBC Watch of interviewer Eddie Mair doing his best to disrespect Israel’s EU ambassador.

INBBC’s Ms KNELL, on tour from her MB base in Cairo (INBBC’s Cairo Bureau) politically embeds herself with Islamic jihadist supporters of Hamas’ Meshaal.

At no point does Knell label Hamas a jihadist outfit. And she wraps up her pro-Meshaal political propaganda in devious, vague language like this:

“Correspondents say he was clearly aware of the desire among Palestinians for an end to the divisions that have weakened their cause.”

And Hamas’s cause?: the destruction of Israel.

on the 10 o’clock news last night, Friday, a report on the chaos and frenzied mobs in Egypt. Then a report on the anarchy and deaths in Syria . The tone for both these reports – sad, oh dear, this is bad, what a shame. These countries are of course south and north of Israel, sitting quietly in between. Then we come to a report, I think by Yolande knell from Gaza on the return of the Hamas terrorist leader after a very strangely prolonged absence of decades and on the rentamob demos accompanying this. The tone – remarkably different, bright, excited, enthusiastic, positive, isn’t this good for everyone. This is how the BBC regards terrorists whose stated aim is the annihilation of Israel and death of Jews everywhere.

It is often the tone of voice that carries the obvious bias. Make records of the programme you are complaining about. and keep them so that the original can be heard by the BBC Trust when your complaint gets that far.

The BBC continue their love fest with Hamas and its leader today with the story of a rally in Gaza attended by ‘tens of thousands’.
    .
So enamoured are the BBC by this story they not only include it on their Mid-East main page, but also their Home Page and Have Your Say main pages. Clearly they want their public to see how united the Palestinian people are. No doubt, once this rally and the presentation of the ‘victorious Palestinians’ is forgotten we will be reminded of the ‘poor Palestinians’ again.
    .
To get some idea of how skewed both BBC articles relating to this visit and the rally are, it’s worthwhile reading the AP article on the subject who at least got some Israeli feedback on the event.
    .
With the Hamas vowing to continue to try and get rid of Israel it highlights the reason why there will be more deadly and bloody conflicts, but the next time they bemoan the fact of the civilian casualties used by Hamas as a human shield, remember this sentence:
Some 170 Palestinians and six Israelis were killed in the eight-day engagement and Hamas has presented Saturday’s event as a victory rally.
    .
The BBC certainly want it to be seen as such.
    .
While no doubt the next articles we get will tell us AGAIN of the ‘poor Palestinians’, this period portrays them as the victorious underdogs.
    .
BBC Watch is also running a piece on it.

As usual, the BBC’s ghoulish Body Count Narrative is firmly entrenched in the style guide. The bullet points of details about Hamas under the photo accompanying this article about Meshaal’s triumphant return to Gaza includes the following factoid:

Fought two conflicts with Israel in 2006 and 2012 costing lives of almost 1,500 Palestinians

As usual, no distinction is made between armed warriors/rocketeers and unarmed civilians. The BBC has those numbers at their disposal, and almost without exception always refuses to make the demarcation, helpfully encouraging the reader to assume that all Palestinians killed were innocent civilians. This helps demonize Israel, which is the natural result of the BBC’s editorial policy, although the BBC disputes this.

Speaking of which, since the BBC editorial policy seems to require every article related to Israeli settlements include a line about how those settlements are “illegal according to international law, although Israel disputes this”, I say it’s time the BBC similarly requires some boilerplate about Hamas. In this celebration of Hamas’s power and desire to fight Israel for all eternity, Meshaal declares a truth which the BBC usually likes to sweep under the rug: the goal of Hamas is the destruction of Israel. So from now on, all BBC articles about Gaza and Hamas should include a line at the end about that.

Of course, that might make Israel look less evil and might lead a reader to think that maybe Hamas isn’t really looking for a peaceful solution after all, so I don’t expect a BBC editor to ever make such a ruling.

It’s a shame that no real journalists ever want to weigh in on this subject. I’d like to have an honest discussion about it for once.

      Excellent stuff.

Far more honest reporting would be ‘The aim of the BBC is to see the destruction of Israel, even if we have to act as propaganda whores for Hitlerian terrorists’.
