As for Syria….. We in the West need to step back…. Let the Russians and Chinese deal with the Iranian backed revolutionaries… There is no way Russia will allow any other country to endanger the investment in arms and influence which they have made over the last forty years… They also have no wish to have a nuclear threat from Iran on thier doorstep, niether do the Chinese… Also they would not allow a pro Western regime to replace Assad, anything other than the status quo would be a political and military threat to thier current status in the region…… They have more to lose from a regime change and an Iranian powerbloc than us in the West….. We in Europe need to be looking more closely at the current internal political direction of Turkey (a NATO state) which has recentl;y become much more religion based and less secular than before…
