The BBC Just Couldn’t Resist…Never Mind The Dead Children…Get The Daily Mail!

mail

Twitter was outraged this morning as it woke up to the Daily Mail frontpage.

The BBC, and it seems the tedious Owen Jones, are of a similar mind laying into the Mail today as it linked Philpott’s scrounging to the death of his children.

A picture in the Telegraph via Guido with ‘idiot’ Jones….

idiot

@OwenJones84 The utter shameless, grotesque, vile mentality of a “newspaper” that uses the killing of 6 kids for political purposes and to inflame hatred

Not forgetting the opportunist Labour MP Jack Dromey, quite ready to use a coffin as a political soap box:  ‘Truly vile headline in tomorrow’s Daily Mail. How dare they bracket the unemployed, the sick and the disabled with a mass murderer!’

No ‘utter shameless, grotesque, vile mentality of a labour MP that uses the killing of 6 kids for political purposes’ from Jones on that one then?

The BBC covered the same ground this morning and seem to regard the Mail’s coverage as a major news story:

Sheila Fogarty went into it in some detail…or not as it turns out.  The Daily Mail is a prime target for the BBC, never a day goes by without a BBC presenter slagging it off…or an ‘artistic’ guest  or a Labour politician doing so.

The question, unanswered by Fogarty and Co, is was the Daily Mail right, did the deaths of the 6 children stem from his desire to’work the system’?

Some missing facts from the BBC rants against the Mail ….all the money from benefits went to the children’s mothers…but they paid it all into Philpott’s bank account.  He claimed nothing himself.

Philpott’s girlfriend decided to leave him and take her 5 kids with her…and Philpotts wanted a bigger council house….

Here is what the Mail says:

‘He was left irate after Miss Willis, 29, became disillusioned with his ‘domineering behaviour’ and summoned the courage to escape the unconventional family home with her five children early last year.

That decision to leave, taking with her more than £1,000 a month in benefit payments, was the ‘catalyst for everything that was to follow’.

Philpott calculated that a fire could also land him a new, bigger council house – something he had been demanding from the local authority ever since his notorious appearance on Jeremy Kyle in 2006.’

Reading that it is pretty clear that his actions were designed to get custody of the children in order to keep receiving their benefit payments, and to ‘force’ the council to re-house him in a bigger house.

In other words the Mail was right….the deaths were a result of Philpott’s greed, the motivation easy money from a system that he ‘milked’ relentlessly with a ‘production line’ of children.

The Daily Mail’s frontpage in no way reflects upon the people who are in real need of welfare and do not abuse the system……but Philpott’s actions were a direct result of  a system that richly rewards those who see a way of obtaining a lifestyle they could never afford by working honestly and have no shame at all about manipulating and perverting a system for their own profit and enrichment at the expense of those whoo truly need the money.

It’s a shame that the BBC et al are more interested in attacking the Daily Mail, and the government’s welfare reforms, than in challenging the morality and effectiveness of the welfare system themselves.

The lefties are whining about this on LBC right now.

The callers are actually disagreeing with Ian Dale on his stance that the Mail are wrong.

I believe the Mail are spot on, I have known plenty of folk who are mass claimants, and claim everything out there…it is a lifestyle choice.

(I actually know “Devil Dog” woman Bev Concannon, that’s how far imbedded in the real world I am, unlike some prat the Beeb think is Northern and down on da Streets, like Lefty, Shouty Jones)

Perhaps BBC-NUJ could list in order of ‘vileness’:

    1.)
    Tory Bullingdon boys, who apparently got drunk at university;

    2.)
    the ‘bullying’ BBC managers over whom BBC-NUJ are going on strike;

    3.)
    Philpott.

That bit in ‘quotes’ does have a shorter and, given the topic, appropriate name.
How many petitions are trying to run policy or private sector HR now?
Ed Milibandwagon must have a whole department just to decide which one to jump on daily, presuming the BBC doesn’t brief him on which they are backing first.

I had to wonder why the BBC ran the article on this vile shit with the headline
Philpott sentencing: Derby fire deaths duo ‘good’ parents

No attempt to mention any of the accusations that show they were far from good parents, as the Mail clearly tells:
Her sisters, Jennifer and Bernadette, told a BBC Panorama programme aired last night that they frequently tried to rescue them from Philpott’s clutches. They explained how Mairead attempted suicide in the months before the fire.

Afterwards, Philpott allowed the eldest child, Duwayne, 13, to have a sleepover at Bernadette’s house.

She said the little boy was in a terrible state. ‘Mick said he hadn’t eaten for a week and I took him and my little boy out for a pizza. I had never seen a child eat so fast in my life.’

Of course, it all rather contradicts Philpott’s great claim, wheeled out whenever he was criticised about his lifestyle, that he was a ‘great dad’.

Not to mention the other examples in the article that show what shits they really were to their kids.

Clearly the BBC doesn’t want to show that this benefit claimant could be anything else than an upright moral citizen, who meant to save his children but just made a little mistake.

What with them having used Philpott previously for a documentary about the welfare system, and the ‘ducker and diver’ they used to lambast IDS, they’re really batting a 1000 on their selections to pursue their agenda.

Shows how tough it is for them to prove something so patently rubbish.

      ‘Wikipedia’:-

“In December 2012, Littlejohn wrote an article criticizing the decision of an Accrington teacher, Lucy Meadows, to return to teach at the same school after transition from male to female, rather than choosing another school to teach at. Littlejohn cited concern for the sensibilities of the children. In the same article he sympathized with those who were ‘trapped in a body of the wrong sex’ and underwent gender reassignment operations, and expressed support for the operations being paid for by the NHS, provided it was for a genuine medical reason.

“In March 2013, Meadows was found dead with police reporting no suspicious circumstance, suggesting suicide. Littlejohn’s article, which included a caption criticising the school for ‘burying’ the news of Miss Meadows, was later removed from the Daily Mail’s website following Meadows’ death, with an anonymously-authored obituary, repeatedly referring to Meadows as a man and making no mention of Littlejohn’s article, appearing online and in print. Trans Media Watch, a charity for transgender people, said: ‘We have been deeply saddened to hear of the death of Lucy Meadows, who was outed by the press when she decided to transition.’
“A petition drive was launched demanding Littlejohn be fired.”

From what I read about this, Littlejohn was raising concerns in a national newspaper that had already been voiced in the local Accrington press as a result of parents’ reaction over the school’s plans to explain the teacher’s ‘gender re-assignment’ to the (primary school) pupils. If that is so, I don’t understand why it shouldn’t be up for national debate.

It also seems “Lucy” had tried to commit suicide on two previous occasions according to the Coroner opening the inquest. So it would appear that the deceased had some deep seated mental problems well before Littlejohn wrote his article.

john IC, yup, the piece by Zoe Williams in the Grun; “Don’t get mad about the Mail’s use of the Philpotts…” is followed by a barrage of comments full of hatred, and liberal use of ‘vile’. It would be funny to post there a regular ‘vile-o-meter’ index in the comments, increasing every time the word was used. Unfortunately I’m banned.
      The anger in Guardian comments is far worse than anything I’ve seen in the Mail. MrNed says it well on Guido;
      ================

I have never ever seen the Daily Mail claim that all benefits claimants are evil, devious, selfish etc… That is a smear by the delusional left wing. But then, unlike most lefties, I actually read the Daily Mail, rather than mindlessly repeat the baseless smears of the left.

The Daily Mail is exposing how the welfare system has failed the people it was intending to help. For example, the welfare system gave Mick Philpott so much in benefits that his total benefits placed him in the top 1% of incomes in this country. YET the welfare system failed to ensure that his massive income (on which he paid NO income tax at all) was used to ensure that his children were well fed or clothed properly. The welfare system failed his children and it failed every tax-payer who is paying for it.

Funny how the left cannot see any flaw in a system which makes such scum as Philpott into a member of the exclusive 1% of incomes club, and he did not pay income tax, yet they will go apeshit about a newspaper which exposes the failure of the welfare system which is so obviously badly failing all of us.

The left are delusional idiots, all of them.

BBC, Sky, the Guardian, the Independent etc have wheeled out the usual snooty, London lefties, today, to shed their faux-tears on-screen. The fact is, this useless, evil, murdering, lazy, dole scrounger was more interested in getting extra cash than the lives of his kids, and our broken welfare state – created and lauded by Liebour socialist filth – aided him. I’d hang him along with every other murdering scum who are lounging around in prison watching DVDs thanks to the treacherous Left-wing excrement who are more interested in the rights of minorities and criminals than the normal, law-abiding citizen. That’s because the ruling class is and has always been descendants of the Normans who invaded in 1066. It’s only been in the last 100-150 years that significant number of Anglos have been able to break out from the working class and join the Normans in the elite.

The rise of the educated working class was becoming a problem for the Normans and so they introduced Comprehensive schools. Now social mobility is going backwards.

That’s why labour supports the benefit culture, it keeps their kids in the better jobs.

The sting in the tail is that this elite forgot this country needs to earn it’s living in the world and needs well educated children. Give it 20 years and we will be well into third world status.

Listening to the foolish Pamela Nash made me embarrassed to say I am Glaswegian.
All murderers eat food, not everyone who eats food is a murderer. Not all people on benefits are feckless wasters. But Nu Labour promoted many 10000s of families to this hallowed state of sucking the life blood from the state and “here to get their pay” as I have heard some feckless wasters say in the local post office in the past when getting thier benefits.

She just couldn’t get the fact that this family lead by this vile feckless pervert of a man, exist because of Nu Labour’s 13 years of destruction. One of its policies to give wholesale increases to those who “had” bigger families. What ages are the kids? its not rocket science.
Also the reason you see many of those on benefits with small dogs. They get and extra £10 a week for having a dog. Yes an extra £520 a year. There are old pensioners who have been left on their own by their feckless families, of all political persuasions, who find great comfort in having a dog as a companion. Not these wasters.
Yes, many, including myself, reading this will have had a relatively privileged upbringing, but i know those in some of the most deprived areas in Glasgow who have not and they aren’t in 3rd generation dole junkies on disability benefits.
They work, they work blooming hard to make ends meet. They have had to work hard to make sure their kids have gotten an education and then a job and work to keep ahead. And families don’t always stick together, but its amazing the economic benefits when they do resolve issues and stick together.
Niall Ferguson’s Reith Lecture exposed the folly of those on the left in Scotland. Some very educated fools.
Old school institutions – while many do not agree with them its interesting to see how many families try and get their kids in to the Catholic state schools for a good and structured educations. The family unit to stop kids running amok. Rather than Nu Labour’s ideal of a family – 3 people and a fridge to quote from elsewhere.

Ohh a once significant city in a well respected country. A country that once made such a mark on the pages of history. Significant input to science, maths, engineering, inventions galore. Yes there was great poverty, but as with so many cities of its time.

It cannot be denied that Thatcher did take a butcher’s cleaver, rather than a surgeon’s knife to a number of expensive secondary industries. She didn’t seem to quite realise how soley dependant so many had become on the state and state funded jobs and couldnt see anything past that. Furthermore, she didn’t seem to realise the vast numbers who swallowed wholesale the Fabian/Nu Labour type lies peddled by those previously indoctrinated by old school communism on the red Clyde.
I am told that there was very good steel and brass made in Glasgow, and the cheaper eastern European metal makers still haven’t quite got the knack yet.

Salmond’s and Sturgeon’s plan, while admirable and truly deluded.
I do find Sturgeon, with equally nasal and whining accent, incredibly annoying.

Please dont think all Glaswegians are whining fools who think the state owes them everything for nothing.

Truly, Scotland once was a great nation.

BBC 6 o’clock news – a reporter live at the scene of the Philpot deaths. His comments (about eight minutes in) deserve a full transcript and an official complaint – not that it would do any good of course. He was desperately spinning the story away from any state or welfare responsibilty. He admitted he didn’t know what the locals thought, but then told us exactly what they did think, and reported in such a detailed and clear way that it was actually presented as fact. All just a ‘one off’ we were authoritatively told on the basis of, well.. err, no evidence whatsoever. Pure BBC opinion dressed up as something much more.

As always with the BBC, something that contradicts their world viewpoint is just “an isolated case”. Whether it be Islamic terrorists or dysfunctional welfare junkies, there are NO lessons to be learned, it’s all just a one-off, move along, nothing to see here. Contrast to, say, a racist chant at a football game and for the BBC it’s clear all the schedules, 24-hour coverage on news and radio channels, and a major societal issue that must be dealt with at the highest level. Enquiries are called for. Examples must be made. Lessons must be learned.

An official complaint would be useless, the difference in coverage would be dismissed as editorial priorities, subjective, balanced over time, etc etc. In reality its one of the most insidious yet powerful examples of BBC bias and how it has such a powerful and distorting effect on national debate and the entire national consciousness.

I’m taken by the number of times the Prime Minister is called ‘Cameron’ by the BBC. Frequently on news bulletins, and almost always by David Dimbleby on QT.

My ears pricked up this morning, then, when Five Liveoid, Phil Mackie reporting from Nottingham referred to the Scumbag Philpott, quit simply as, ‘Phil’.

The BBC apparently show more respect to this killer than they do the PM

You lot really are a sad, pathetic bunch of tosers. You’re the reason the country is in this state.
Philpots motives and actions have NOTHING to do with the welfare state or how it came about. He’s a cold bloded psycopath that saw women and children as his property to exploit. THAT has nothing to do with those who depend on the Welfare state to stay alive. Rememeber the golden rule “Everyone has the right to life” It’s doesn’t say *you* have a greater right then someone less well of then you.

Hysteria74 makes no sense. Who said anything about having a greater right? Who said Philpott isn’t a psycopath? Who said anything about people who really do depend on welfare to say alive being punished? Why does this person support benefits fraudsters stealing vital resources from the poorest and most vulnerable? Very strange.

What’s not strange is that this is yet another troll who created an email address with the same moniker specifically to yell at us. It’s like some rule they all have to follow.

“He’s a cold bloded psycopath that saw women and children as his property to exploit” Yes and the welfare state was the means and opportunity through which he exploited them
Remember the golden rule every body has a right to an opinion just because your a self righteous prig doesn’t make your right any greater (nor the use of higher case letters)
