“‘Thuggish’ BBC under fire over dealings with local press”
    by Paul Linford.

    [Excerpt]:-

“Among those speaking out at the conference were Geraldine Allinson, chief executive of the KM Group and last year’s president of the Newspaper Society, and Local World chief executive Steve Auckland.

“Geraldine called on the BBC to work on a constructive basis with local newspapers ‘instead of consistently treating us as a competitor’.

“She said: ‘We should be able to have a far more symbiotic relationship than at the moment. They consistently promote Facebook and Twitter, but when it comes to one of our local papers they say ‘a local councillor spoke to a local paper’, why can’t they even say our name? It is ridiculous.”

“Steve agreed, saying most of the BBC’s stories were broken by local newspapers.

“’Local titles tend to break the stories, that’s where they tend to emanate from and go from there. Local press and local media teams,’ he said.

“Simon Enright, editor of local TV at the BBC conceded that the corporation should credit local news sources where appropriate.

“’Where people have stories and they are not attributed on a BBC website they should be. Absolutely we should,’ he said.

“Tim Kirkman, the head of the London Evening Standard’s local TV initiative, told the same event:
‘There is a thug at the end of the street and that is the BBC.’”

Bizarre news report on the 6 o clock news. The BBC said that poor wee jihadi Bilal al-Berjawi was killed by a drone strike in Somalia and the British government was to blame.

Now this Lebanese “Briton” was a fundraiser for Somali Jihadis, had gone back and forth from Africa to jihadi training camps. While he was away Teresa May revoked his passport and then he was blown up by a drone. So it is all the fault of the British government.

Now why is the BBC taking the side of this terrorist? After last week’s jihad attack in London, it would seem that May did the right thing. Better this swine is out of the country, rather than in this country threatening the lives of every fine upstanding Englishman.

Only the BBC could turn a Islamic jihad terrorist into a victim. And using licence fee payers money to do it.

Possibly the way he’s been dispatched. I believe 3,121 Pakistanis have perished since the drone strikes started over there. Only 1.5% are known high profile combatants. 5.6% or 175 were children. Hearts and minds huh.

Here’s a widely-reported news story that the bBBC won’t cover, for its usual reasons.

(HuffPo) Muslim Fundamentalism ‘May Be Categorised As Mental Illness’
(The Times) Science may one day cure Islamic radicals

Muslim fundamentalism may one day be seen in the same way as mental illness is today and be “curable”, according to a leading neuroscientist.

Kathleen Taylor, a science author and research scientist at the University of Oxford, said that strong, negative beliefs could be eradicated using techniques that were already under development.

2010, Mr Berjawi’s family in London were told his British citizenship was being revoked.

I watched the London news report on this last night. The above decision was described as ‘controversial’. How dare we revoke the jihadi’s citizenship. Worse, they also had a bloke from Cageprisoners on who alleged that information supplied by Britain might have helped enable the drone strike that killed him. No evidence was offered to support this claim, a claim which is conspicuously absent from the website report. Put up or shut up, BBC, and then tell me what spurious allegations like this do for community cohesion.

Uh, Diane James on QT: weak, weak, weak. Very disappointing. She needs to work on her clarity and soundbites. She even referred to escaping from the EU prison as ‘leaving the party’ FFS. Mehdi Hassan talks alot of shit but by golly he hits every bullshit point hard, and he’s got all his bogus statistics and silly talking points well rehearsed. FFS we need some decent UKIP advocates besides Nigel.

Today 08:30 Danny Blanchflower talking about the Sweden riots which have nothing to do with Islam apparently, and everything to do with youth unemployment. He nearly managed to get so far that he admitted immigration was a stupid thing to have done given the lack of jobs – which is the logical conclusion, but he pulled back.

Is INBBC beginning to see the Islamic jihad threat in Africa, while still unable/unwilling to see it in Europe and Britain?

INBBC fails to understand that Islam is a global ideology whose Muslim proponents use all supremacist methods for advance, be they military, through Islamic jihad, demographic, through mass immigration into non-Muslim countries, and well as financial and propaganda jihad.

For example, INBBC has a article (somewhat vague and Islam-light) entitled:-

    “How Islamist militancy threatens Africa”

But INBBC does NOT have an equivalent piece entitled:-

The ‘Foodbanks’ story rears it head yet again on the BBC

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-22715458

What it is like to rely on food banks?
By Mark Sedgwick BBC News : 30th May

Despite what I assume to be the BBC’s obligation to provide balanced debate on social issues there is clearly either: a) a policy to promote left-wing activists with a platform; or b) left-minded BBC journalists are running out of control.

There’s no arguing with the fact that the BBC does operate the ‘don’t ask don’t tell’ policy to benefit sob stories.

So much is left unspoken here….

‘Jack Monroe, [that’s a woman] 25, visited food banks in her hometown of Southend with her three-year-old son Jonny for six months after losing her job.’

‘She had been working shifts in a fire service control room but could not find affordable childcare, meaning her son was having to spend many nights at the homes of various friends.

Ms Monroe’s request for a more flexible shift pattern was rejected and her employers refused to hear her appeal due to an issue over the time taken to lodge it, leaving her with no choice but to resign.’

I wonder how the BBC reporter came across this very sad case of Ms Jack Monroe?

Well, she was in the Mirror : 19th May

    http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/jack-monroe-who-fed-son-1897691

‘She had to sell most of her possessions and survived by turning tins of food costing pennies into posh meals.’

She was in The Sunday People last December (according to the Mirror article)

So many using Foodbanks and so few examples worth publicising eh?

But unlike the 1,000s of Shameless clones up and down the land our Jack is respectable poor and bourgeois and her manners and lefty PC views could never upset a North London dinner party table and – goodness me – she has a blog…

    http://agirlcalledjack.com/

‘”While her ingredients may come from the value range, that doesn’t mean her food can’t be haute cuisine” – The Independent. “Compelling, if sobering reading” – Lisa Markwell. “Far more than a food blog” – Fiona Beckett. “Sassy, political, and cooking amazing food on £10 a week” – Xanthe Clay. “Jack Monroe is a fresh new voice for our times” – Penguin. “Inspiring people to enjoy, explore, and experiment with food” – Fortnum and Mason. ‘

She is no stranger to the BBC

    http://agirlcalledjack.com/2013/05/25/bbc-news-interview-27-april/

‘I finally got around to roughly filming my BBC News interview from the 27th of April… Forgive the shaky quality, this is recorded from someone’s TV who had kindly recorded it for me. And was also the first time i’d seen it, almost a month later…’

‘So for anyone that didn’t catch me, er, crying, on prime time news, here it is:’

Ah bless. Still, there”s a silver lining to this sob story…

    She has a book deal!

    10th May

    http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/the-single-mother-who-turned-9p-meals-into-a-publishing-deal-with-a-girl-called-jack-blog-8611806.html

‘The single mother who turned 9p meals into a publishing deal with A Girl Called Jack blog’

‘Now the single mother from Southend is to produce a book filled with more of her budget recipes after being handed a deal by Penguin.’

‘The book is due to be published in March next year and will include more than 100 recipes.’

I suppose the BBC didn’t mention this deal because they are not allowed to advertise?

Still the BBC can tell us all Ms Jack’s political views…

‘Ms Monroe is concerned the government is not doing enough about the problem of food poverty, particularly while there are food banks to try and deal with the problem.’

‘She thinks the government’s cuts are exacerbating the problem’

Unfortunately they don’t actually have one, but even if they did. they would allow the civil servants to invent the most ridiculous verbose piece of public sector speak no one would use it.

The Bedroom tax sums up what it is quite nicely, and according to economics any money taken by the government is called a tax.

Not even the BBC can blame Israel for this one:

Nigeria: Hezbollah armoury discovered in Kano city

An armoury belonging to the Lebanese group Hezbollah has been discovered in northern Nigeria, the West African nation’s army and spy agency has said.

Three Lebanese nationals have been arrested, an army spokesman, Brig Gen Ilyasu Isa Abba, said.

The cache, including rifles, anti-tank weapons and an RPG, were found in a warehouse in the city of Kano, he said.

Nigeria’s State Security Service said they were intended for use against “Israeli and Western interests”.

“This is the handwork of Hezbollah,” Bassey Ettang, director of the State Security Service in Kano said.

“What has just been discovered is a cell of Hezbollah and what you have seen here is a Hezbollah armoury,” he told journalists in Kano on Thursday.

Brig Gen Ilyasu Isa Abba said 11 anti-tank weapons, four anti-tank mines, a rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) and 21 RPG missiles, 17 AK-47s, two sub-machine guns and 76 grenades had been amongst the weapons found.

    Israeli interests in Nigeria?

It is the first time that Nigerian authorities have alleged that Hezbollah has an operational interest in the country.

Kano and north-eastern Nigeria has suffered multiple attacks in the last three years since the home-grown Islamist militant group Boko Haram launched an insurgency.

Mr Ettang added: “You can also be sure that if a group like this is existing then it may even lend support to some of the local terrorists we have on the ground.”

I blame Nigerian foreign policy and inequality.
